"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free our minds"
One of my favorites of Bob's songs. Thanks for the link.

A great man, who made beautiful, meaningful music. Can't believe it's almost 30 years he's gone. Happy birthday Bob. The Legend lives on.

Happy Birthday Bob. Sitting here with a hot cup of coffee watching the snow fall down and listening to a great boot called Exodus/Kaya horn mixes.

Interesting thread to me as i spiritually have always been connected to the reggae music, which was brought to my ears and soul thru Mr. Bob marley..In the early 70,s music was so mucha part of my up bringing as a young teen ager and always enjoying various type of music. From the radio came a few tunes." i shot the sheriff" and " get up stand up", music that made a "white guy sway and dance"and feel a warmth to the rhythm of the music. accompanied with great lyrics.Beinga young teem ager the "ghanga" scene was sucha social and emotional connection in my youthful life.I was always attracted to "black music" as years past the Mptown sound was anothert connection of good feel music. So tho gravitate to this unique sound and lyrics always a warmth in my heart to the music.IN the mid 70's my Dad took me to Jamiaca and having never been out of the country, and definately ina different land and way of life, being a new yorker i was so taken by the vast difference but the simplicity of life , the love the people the music. it became part of my soul.part of my fiber. Then in the college years the connection to partying and weed, and more Marley music.. accompanied with Peter Mcin Tosh and Jimmy Cliff.. it was like a old pair of shoes, it just always fit...To re call so many great tunes..No Woman , No cry..Could you be loved" Stir it up..Rastaman Vibration,, Jammin..REdemption song..ONe love.. and even after death Buffalo soldier" IRon Lion Zion.. I just love the warmth and love i feel just writing this stuff..I started going back to Jamaiaca in the late 90's and a few more times to Negril in the early 2000,s, I have always had that connection to the island the music the people, the love. Everything is Irie.. One thing i always felt was like a John Lennon, Bob Marley wass one of those "connected" artists that spoke to the world thru their music. as they both died differently, they both died before their time stripping this world of true LOVE..in song..Peace and brotherhood.. things this world so gladly needs to have more of... Two passing thoughts first my dog a sweet black lab is named " Marley: way before that movie came out! and two check out this artist if you dont know him already NASIO, the cd " living in the positive" it will so connect you back to Mr. Marley and last but not least is what Bob said to his son Ziggy as he was physically leaving this earth.."MONEY CAN'T BUY LIFE" , to me its always been about ONE LOVE... peace out...
