I was organizing my albums and came across Spooky Tooth " Spooky Two". Man, what a great band! I think one of the members was the founder of Humble Pie but not sure. Anyway, great band.

One of my all time favourite British bands, the late Greg Ridley was the bass player in Humble Pie, RIP. Check out The Last Puff with a killer cover of I Am The Walrus.

Not only that didn't Spooky Tooth spawn some of Foghat? I may be wrong about that. Also I believe Luther Grovenor was in Spooky Tooth who went on to fame with Mott The Hoople as Ariel Bender.

Spooky Tooth is one of my favorites as well.

Harrison had such a great and distinctive voice and when Wright joined, they had some amazing interplay with their vocals.

I also liked Grosvenors distinctive guitar playing.

Oh and I loved Ridley's played bass playing

Thanks for the reminder, I'll put on the first two albums nows

You're thinking of Savoy Brown...Lonesome Dave,Roger Earl, and Tony Stevens left SB to begin Foghat. Another great Brit band.

If you like Mike Harrison, look for his solo stuff - Rainbow Rider or Smokestack Lightning. He does a truly great version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. No kidding.

I am really glad to see some fellow ABB fans who are Spooky Tooth fans. My first ST album was "You Broke My Heart" in 1973. Some of you may not know that Spooky Tooth (Gary Wright, Mike Harrison and Mike Kellie) played some reunion shows in 2004 in honor of Greg Ridley, their original bassist (and Humble Pie founding member) which resulted in a 2007 DVD/CD called "Nomad Poets" most of the material is from the classic "Spooky Two" album and their first album, but you also get "The Wrong Time" from "The Last Puff" and "Wildfire" from "You Broke My Heart," plus extensive interviews with the 3 members. They have toured Europe in 2007 and 2008, but no USA shows.

In 2009, Cherry Red Records released a wonderful anthology, "Lost In My Dream" covering 1967-1974 - it's a great starting point. You have no idea what a strong songwriter Gary Wright is until you hear this stuff. Mike Harrison? He's the thinking man's Joe Cocker.

There is an active Spooky Tooth group on Yahoo. Feel free to join us!
