I love this thread so much every year I thought I'd start it myself!

I'm making my homemade pizza like I always do. This year I'm also making my first attempt at buffalo wings. Never actually made them myself. Should be an adventure!

Of course there will be the requisite chips and dip. Even thinking of making some dips from scratch too! Or, I'm just looking for excuses to use the food processor.

Friends coming over but it's BYOB...gin for me, Riesling for the wife. My friends will be drinking some sort of beverage brewed in Fort Collins, I'm sure.

As far as the game goes, by heart says Saints but my head says Colts. As always, just let it be a good game!

Whatcha gonna eat this Sunday?

After watching Man Vs Food all day Sunday I think I gained 10 pounds. I have not given it much thought. Might fry up some chicken in bacon grease and olive oil. Awesome flavor. Cook up some cabbage, collards...........or might just do a all out mexican deal. What ever it will be a good bit of beer may be involved......

I go to a great party every year where the hosts supply trophies for the best dishes that the guests bring. So there ends up being a wide variety of dishes, all usaually very good.

This year the categories are BBQ, Chilli / Soup / Stew, Salsa / Dip, Dessert, & Cocktail. I am entering a Chicken & Sausage Gumbo (In honor of the Saints) & a Margarita that includes Belgian Frambois beer.

I'll be making my most requested dish, the Bubba roll.
Steam some cabbage or collard leafs (your choice) till soft, then pat dry.
Cook up some grits with a little extra sugar to stiffen them up.
Spread the grits onto a leaf of cabbage, like spreading mayo on a sandwich.
Line the leaf with some Vienny sausage and roll it up.
Serve with Miracle Whip for dipping, side that with some Skoal as a palate cleanser.
Mmmm, redneck sushi

Not sure what we'll have at our house. Wouldn't be surprised if we had chicken wings. My mom usually has a big plate with crackers, cheese, ham, celery, carrots, summer sausage, etc. Fried Chicken does sound good though.

Good wings are as simple as getting three things right...Fry them (NO BAKING) until they're cooked, stop before you overcook them and sauce/serve immediately. Sauces, blue cheese, blah blah blah - cook 'em right and serve right away and you'll have a homerun. God I love good wings......
