Great live performances is what its all about for me. Some bands never match the sound of their studio albums. Other bands sound exactly like their studio albums during the concerts. Then there are the bands like the Allmans who expand on their studio albums and take you away. Also there are great sounding live albums out there that sound like the band is playing in your living room and other live albums that sound like crap. Here is a list of some of my favorite live albums(not in any particular order). I tried not to repeat any artists. What are some of your favorite live albums? I would like to add some great sounding live albums to my catalog.

1. Allman Brothers Band - Live at Filmore East
2. Santana - Live At Filmore 1968
3. Traffic - Welcome to the Canteen
4. Grateful Dead - Europe 72
5. New Monsoon - Live
6. Joe Cocker - Mad Dogs & Englishmen
7. The Band - Last Waltz (Box Set)
8. John Coltrane - The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings
9. Miles Davis - Black Beauty
10. Gov't Mule - Live With A Little Help From Our Friends(Collectors Edition)
11. Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Session
12. Jerry Garcia/Merl Saunders - Keystone Berkley 9/1/74 (Pure Jerry Series)
13. Freddie King - Live at the Electric Ballroom
14. Railroad Earth - Elko
15. Galactic - We Love Em Tonight
16. Clifford Brown & Max Roach - Basin Street
17. Umphreys McGee - Live at the Murat
18. Jimmy Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
19. King Curtis - Live at Fillmore West
20. Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
21. Savoy Brown - Archive Alive - Live at the Record Plant 1975
22. String Cheese Incident- Carnival 99
23. Warren Haynes - Live at Bonaroo
24. TJ Kirk - Talking Only Makes It Worse
25. Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizards - Its Tight Like That

A night in SF/ It's Too late to stop Now (V. Morrison)
Stompin' Room Only (Marshall Tucker Band)
Live @ Wetlands (Robert Randolph & Family Band)
Live @ Fillmore (Derek and the Dominos)

and Albert King has some great ones as well....

and I know this repeats artists but:

Live @ Roseland Ballroom (Gov't Mule)
and many other Allman Bros. recordings

The Who's "Live at Leeds" comes close to the ABB's "Fillmore East" as my fave.

I also really love Zephyr's "Live at Art's Bar and Grill," an unknown gem.

Two other wonderful live albums:
Rush's "Exit Stage Left" (my desert island Rush CD choice)
Wilco's "Kicking Television"

Great choices by all so far, one I didn't see is Bob Seger Live Bullet. Not a "great" album by this definition, but I enjoyed Foghat Live quite a bit one summer in my youth.

My top 3:

LAFE
Live Bullet
Stones Love You Live
