Here we go again. More flash over substance. I assume we will hear all about helping the economy. Helping the middle class. How they have saved or created jobs. More blame for the Bush years and how they inherited this mess. How we are working on the defecit. Obama will say one thing and do another. We will hear how Health Care reform is not dead, just on life support and how if we don't do it, it will bankrupt this country.

They continue to help wallstreet while neglecting mainstreet. They want more stimulus, more money for war, and they want to raise the debt ceiling another 1.5 Trillion. There will surely be another stimulus II for the bankers and elite while mainstreet continues to shed jobs at a breakneck pace.

We will get another great teleprompter speech with hollow promises full of hope.

The only thing I can see that Obama has accomplished in his first year is recieving the Nobel Peace Prize. Then he went on to ramp up the war in Afghanistan and send more American boys off to their deaths to find some joker in a cave.

You can't bankrupt a country overnight, it takes time, and your kids money.

The path we are on is unsustainable, no one can dispute that.

I have yet to see any change in Washington. The lobbyist he vowed to get rid of are still there. Wallstreet is still there. The corporatocracy of America continues with no end in sight?

Both parties are shedding numbers at an amzing rate. A third pary is forming, the party of common sense. They are telling Washington, "no more". We will see what is more important, their jobs, or the Progressive doctrine.

I am sure the State of the Union speech will be the best in history!

No need. Review it before it happens. Saves time, beats the rush.

My old boss always told me I should be more proactive. Guess he was right.

Let me get my checklist out and see if I am right? If not, rail away!

1. talk about jobs and how the stimulus has helped save or create jobs.
2. Talk about reducing the deficit.
3. Talk about helping the middle class.
4. Talk about the "need" for Health Care Reform
5. How we "inherited" this economy
6. Put blame on the banks and bonuses (averting all blame from Washington)

Im sure; considering its a major issue in America.

Sucky huh?

Uh, yeah. I guess you think thats a bad thing.

Yes, stupid...this all didnt start on 1/20/09 despite what you might want to believe.

How we are working on the defecit.

Probably not as big of a deal as everything else when compared.

Obama will say one thing and do another. We will hear how Health Care reform is not dead, just on life support and how if we don't do it, it will bankrupt this country.

No, we will probably hear how if it isnt done, American taxpayers will end up continuing to be gouged by the insurance companies. That said, the Democrats are fixing to cave in and give up the issue on pre-existing conditions which if they do, the bill should just be put out of its misery as it will be a shell of its intended form.

What do you want specifically?

They want more stimulus,...

That was part of the stimulus deal already approved. Have they asked for more outside of that?

more money for war

There should be lots of money available when we arent paying for Iraq.

You say there will 'surely be'...so youre just talking out of your ass right now and indulging in one of your patented paranoia routines is that about the size of it?

Do I really have to remind you that EVERY SINGLE PRESIDENT SINCE CARTER (MAYBE EVEN IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO HIM) HAS USED A TELEPROMPTER IN EVERY SPEECH?

LOL..thats because you are a grossly uninformed, misinformed RW paranoid with zero ability to see past Glen Beck.

Uh huh... Correct me if Im wrong, but when Bush was pursuing this folly, I dont recall you saying shiat at that time. Meanwhile, we are finally where we need to be in regards to pursuing those that would seek to harm us. Why do you have a problem with this? Be specific.

Unfortunately, its going to be worse before it gets any better. You know who to thank for why we are where we are.

JPB obviously must have inside info and an early draft copy of the SOTU speech. We should be so proud to have someone so much in the know on the site. Kind of like the HTW version of the Glen Beck show!

So, Obama's speech will be diferent from all the other State of the Union addresses? What do you expect him to do....get up and tell the truth....that he took the reigns of a run away stagecoach and so far, although he doesn't have it under control, at least it hasn't run off a cliff?

of course not. He hasn't so far, why would he start now. They have totally taken care of Wallstreet and they could give a shiit about you and I. No, I am not buying what they are selling. I find it interesting that Obama is doing the very same things that Bush did and to an even greater level, but it's ok because Bush did it too? I guess I just don't see any change. Not in economic policy, not in the bailouts, not in the wars, hell-Gitmo is still open? I would really like to hear where this change is coming from. Corporations have now been given the green light to buy elections (I know, the Republicans voted in) and the lobbyist are still buying off politicians left and right. The Nebraska purchase, unions, big pharma, and more.

Nothing has changed in DC, not even the agenda. It's all the same.

Wow. Everything is the same. No difference. We have an exit strategy for Iraq. That's new. Banks are repaying the bailout money. That's new. The economy has started to recover. That's new. There is an attempt, despite the efforts of the Republicans, to finally do something about health care. That's new. There are programs in place to help people in over their heads on mortgages so they won't lose their homes. That's new. The war effort is focusing on Afghanistan, where it should have focused from the start. That's new.

An exit strategy for Iraq? How about "GET OUT".

The economy is starting to recover? Really? Yeah, your in touch. Show me where unemployment, housing, and production are recovering. Please provide links.

The Republicans (independents) did something about health care, it's call Massachusetts. No one wants a government take over of 1/7 of the economy. America is saying no to fascism. I applaud them.

Print, print, print. Yeah, that is helping out. Inflate the dollar bubble even more. We won't pay, but our kids sure will.

Afghanistan. Really more war? That is new? I don't think so. The war in Afghanistan is just as much of a joke as Iraq. More spending, more killing, nothing has changed.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Chicago Ford plant to add jobs

January 25, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There are reports Ford is going to add 1,200 new jobs at its Torrence Avenue plant on Chicago's South Side.

The jobs are expected to be a part of the plant's shift to make the redesigned Explorer sport utility vehicle.

Ford is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in Illinois to launch the smaller, more fuel-efficient SUV.

The company has been retrofitting the Torrence Avenue plant for months. An official announcement is expected Tuesday morning when Governor Quinn joins Ford executives at the facility.

The new Explorer is set to go on sale later this year.

Census 2010 To Bring 40,000 Jobs To Illinois

As the U.S. Census Bureau embarks on its mission to count everyone in the United States, tens of thousands of jobs are on the horizon for people living in Illinois.

The Census Bureau is hoping for a statewide pool of 100,000 applicants. Based on their previous need for temporary workers, a spokesperson says they expect to hire about 40,000 people in Illinois starting in February.

While the jobs are only temporary, they do pay $18.25 an hour, and for those struggling to find a job in this troubled economy, that's a windfall. CBS 2's Mai Martinez talked to a few of the census job hopefuls.

Have you reviewed the proposals? Particularly the Senate Bill? Not that I'm trying to sell them to you or I think it's 100% good, but you sound like a guy who hasn't even bothered to research something before dismissing it out of hand.

One thing Obama talked about this week was getting tough on these big time banks so that another Bush like bank bail out won't ever be needed again. I was never in favor of the Bush bank bailout, hopefully Obama will be able to get some regulations in that prevent that sort of thing again.

Going for the Trifecta!

I forgot to mention Amnesty for illegals. He is going to need their votes in the next election. I don't think he can really go after cap & trade because it is just as unpoplular as Health Care. I am sure he is going to continue to try to explain away HCR and why we must pass it. While jobs are important, I don't think the White House quite gets it if they think that the Massachusetts elections was all about jobs. So as the WH shifts gears and tries to explain away how we are misunderstanding their message. I hope he can set us Amerikans straight as to what the Progressive agenda truly is.

I do get it. Pass HCR no matter what. Pass cap and trade no matter what. Pass amnesty for illegals no matter what. They want the trifecta of transforming Amerika!
