Tomorrow will be his last show !!! Conan cost NBC 1.5 million last night by playing the Rolling Stones Satisfaction and purchasing a super expensive sports car and dressing it up like a cat? Supposedly Conan is walking with anywhere from 30 to 40 million in severence pay. Not bad? Conan has to stay of the air until September, I hear fox calling now. Leno is to take over the tonight show slot. I wonder where Conan will land?

What do you mean you want your show back ???

The ironic thing is, TV, Movies, and most any kind of entertainment is what sustains people when things are not going so well for them. It's the escape that is needed.
One of the things that make humans human is the need for entertainment.

If Conan can guarantee he'll be as funny on a new show as he has been every night the last two weeks, I'll watch him for sure.

Fox does great ratings with its syndicated lineup, I'm not sure that's his next landing spot. I've never really watched him much, I prefer Letterman and even Leno if I'm going to watch that kind of show.

With you there Brent, but it sure has been funny hearing bits of Conan tearing NBC a new one...especially liked the one about dreaming about hosting the Tonight Show when he was a kid watching Carson - FOR SEVEN MONTHS!

I loved the cat car bit last night. Conan has never been funnier than in the past few days. I'm not going to watch the Tonight Show when Jay Leno returns, at least for a while, because I don't want to support what the network is doing.

Conan is much funnier than Jay. I used to watch him when he was on after Letterman.

I have watched Dave since he started in the Daytime.

would get back from my morning classes at college and watch dave and then the gong show.

So far Leno has screwed both Dave and Conan out of the Tonight show. Karma is a bitch.

I hope Conan goes to HBO or Showtime so he can do his crazier stuff that he dropped
in the Tonight show slot.

can't believe some of the hate shown here for a TV show host. ????

I wish that was my biggest worry.

Never liked Leno's show and never watched Conan because of the time slot but from the little I've seen I'd take Conan over Leno any day.

Don't get to watch him often but agree that Conan can be very funny. I thought it was cool that one of the things he made sure NBC included in their farewell were packages for his staff ... wasn't just thinking about himself there.

I read Leno's explanation for what happened from his monologue, perhaps it was even posted here, it sounds like NBC really screwed this up and it wasn't really Leno's fault. He basically accepted the half hour slot until 12:05 but when Conan refused, NBC gave him back the Tonight show. It didn't sound like he campaigned for any of it and was against the early slot to begin with.

That said, I'm with Spacemonkey, I started watching Letterman in the morning and never looked back...I'm a Dave guy and only caught Leno if he had a guest I wanted to see.

I never understood why they put Leno in prime time anyway. The local stations were beginning to revolt because his show wasn't getting good ratings and wasn't a good lead in to their news. NBC felt the pressure and the game was on. I think if Leno was offered anything, it should have been after the Tonight Show and not before.

Leno knew exactly what he was doing, if you remember about a year to a year and a half before his time was up on the Tonight Show you started to hear the leaked rumor Leno wasn't happy and didn't want to give up the show. So Conan gets the gig and Leno moves to 9pm CST (10pm for you easterners). Leno promises a completely unique and orignal show, but what do we get? The freaking Tonight Show with Jay Leno a whole hour and a half earlier. So he accomplishes a couple of things:
1. He's still doing his "Tonight" show
2. He cuts the legs out from under Conan by booking big time guests and other acts
3. While not intended, he kills the lead in to the local newscasts which has a trickledown effect on the Conan Tonight Show. The audience dropped by 25% on average, more in some cases.
4. Don't believe for one second Leno didn't promise that by moving me back to 10:30, I'll give you the ratings that Conan lost when I handed him the keys. Probably knew Conan would take being bumped 30 minutes and would walk thus opening up the door for him to regain the show he wanted all along.

Leno is a snake in the grass and has had his time, if he was a man of integrity, he'd walk away with his millions and go do standup or whatever new project that might spark his interest. I hope the guys ratings go in the crapper and never recover. I won't watch another minute of his program and I don't care who he has on it.

A very good friend of mine's brother works for Conan on the show and here is the pic all of them just took as they close out on NBC. I hope they all land on their feet. Tonight's show should be fun.

Conan fired himself. He was offerred a slot one half hour later but that wasn't good enough for him. He wanted it his way or no way. He made the decision, so don't blame the network. If they want ratings, put on Odd Couple reruns, people will watch!
