Okay, maybe this has been discussed already, but I was listening to the Beacon DVD audio in my car. I just noticed, and I don't know how this got by me before, but Derek teases Gov't Mule's song "Blind Man in the Dark" to start his solo in "Rocking Horse". I just wanted to mention that...

I'm not positive, but I think the reason for that is to confuse the listener into thinking they aren't actually doing RH so you won't forward to the next song.

I've heard him do that a few times, actually. There was another, I think also on RH, in Charlotte in 2001.

Yeah, both of them tease songs like that a lot. I get really surprised when I don't catch it for that long... I forgot which 2002 "Desdemona" I was listening to that has a beautifully placed "Les Brers" tease, which I really like. It might have been from Chicago. I also remember a few "Mule" teases in 2000 during "Jessica".

I think the great Desdemona from 3/16/2002 may have had a Les Brers quote.
