I came here today, for the first time, to learn about Allman Brothers tickets for the March NY run. From what I gather, there is a presale tonight for folks who became members of the Peach Corps no later than 12/31/2009.

I never heard of the Peach Corps until today. I have been going to Allman Brothers shows for 30+ years and now I can't get first shot at good tickets because I do not belong to some silly internet group.

I've always hated the idea of the presale, but this is the first time that it has affected me personally.

Anyway, just thought I'd vent. Presales suck.

I think its been like this for years. It doesnt mean your not getting a ticket. If youve been a fan , you obviously been able to get tickets to get yourself into the beacon. So nothing new.

Sounds like a ticket scalper shut out? Too bad. A fan of such length of time coming here for the first time sounds a little far fetched.

I would prefer to see all pre-sale tickets limit two tickets and will call only the day of the show to put a real damper on scalpers cashing in on any pre-sale tix.

Wrong. I'm not a scalper. I'm a fan who never came to this web site before. I'm looking to buy one ticket for a couple of shows. If there have been Allman Brothers presales in the past, I wasn't aware of them. I generally go see them once a year when they swing by my home town. Last year I got second row seats. As far as I know, there was no presale for that show.

I know that I'll be able to get tickets when they go on sale to the public, but I would prefer to have the same opportunity to get good seats as everyone else. Once again, presales suck.

dj23, presale tickets are not necessarily better than general sale so I wouldn't worry about not having become a member within time frame for participating in the presale. And there was a presale last year but you indicate you got 2nd for seats in the general sale so that just proves that you can't depend on the presale to have all of the good seats. It's basically a courtesy for members to give them a chance to at least get in the door since so many of the shows sell out.... not to get in the door then in the first row. You have just as good an opportunity to get good seats as anybody participating in the presale. Good luck!

Lolasdeb is right. Many times the pre-sale tickets are not the best seats in the house. Many times you are better off trying to get seats when the go onsale to the general public. I have had great success getting great seats only several days before the show. It seems many venues release tickets back into the system for some reason days before the event itself?

Dj23, sorry for calling you out, it just seemed odd. That's all. You won't have any trouble getting tix. I am sure of that.

I would still love to see pre-sale tix limit 2 and make them will call only to prevent scalpers from cashing in on them. In fact they should do this for the first twenty rows to make sure only the real fans are getting their hands on these hot little tickets. If Tom Petty can do it for a major US Tour, surely it can be done with ABB for their shows as well. I just hate seeing scalpers on eBay and StubHub cashing in on the fans. Tickets are expensive enough without having to fight these losers for the best tickets in the house.

I had row T and then row Z. I tossed them back in favor for a Thursday row E. Sorry you didn't get them.

I may try later on Spare Tix. You can also try the public onsale, Friday the 15th at 10AM ET. Don't worry; tix were held back for that. You can do well in the public onsale too!

Thanks for talking me of the ledge! I know they go onsale and you can get as good if not better seats then too. I was just really surprised that they were ALL gone within 5 minutes.

Actually it's affected you every year. You just didn't realize it. Now next year you can take advantage of it.

Actually you do belong to some silly internet group or else we wouldn't be seeing your post.

You just came to the party late. Welcome aboard - we are a silly group of some pretty damned decent people.

Don't sweat the presale stuff. There are presales for every show and yet you were able to get second row without it. That is far better than those who bought a presale for the same show.

Next year, you have the option of buying through a presale or public sale.

The reason you were shut out this year is because of the history of scalpers joining just before presales to buy up as many tickets as possible. Surely you can see why they have to operate this way.

I joined this group just so that I could voice my displeasure with presales. Why should an ABB fan who doesn't come to this website be any less deserving of good seats than one who does? How about folks who do not have access to the internet?

It just seems to me that fan group presales are wrong. It's like a group of children who are excluding others from their little clique. Everyone should have equal access.
