I cut way back in 2009, mostly due to economic reasons. Smaller shows at smaller venues.
ABB twice in NYC
DTB/Ruthie Foster in Royal Oak
Mule/Jackie Greene in Royal Oak
B.B.King/Robert Cray in Clarkston
Dickey Betts & GS in Pontiac
The following at various times at Callahan's in Auburn Hills: Tommy Castro, Deanna Borgart, Candy Kane, Devon Allman, Tab Benoit, Bernard Allison, Walter Trout, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and other's I can't remember

Special Guest Boz Scaggs

Would be a waste of time to mention any other shows I attended.
20 years from now this is the one I will remember. I listen to my
copy of this show all the time. Sometimes I cant believe I was actually
There.

Davy Knowles / Back Door Slam -- World Cafe Live, Philly -- Davy continues to blow my mind every time I see him. Unbelievable chops, a great blues voice (well beyond his years), and a good songwriter.

Allman Brothers Band -- Beacon, Opening Night -- First Beacon show for me. Loved it. Loved Taj Mahal and Levon Helm joining them as well.

Levon Helm -- Electric Factory, Philly -- Went to this one not sure what to expect. I had heard all the issues about his voice, and while I new the band should be good, I really wanted to go to hear him sing. Well, this concert exceeded all expectations. And incredible band, incredible intensity, and Helm was AWESOME. Donald Fagan, was there, I didn't care for what he contributed, but whatever, great show. Hell, Helm -- at whatever age he is -- played for THREE FREAKING HOURS. Unlike . . .

Black Keys -- Electric Factory, Philly -- Can't say I was disappointed by this one, but it didn't live up to expectations. They made us wait ALL FREAKING NIGHT to come out. The opening acts were terrible, then they played for about an hour and a half. But, maybe that's all the drummer could take, he was AWESOME and just banging it out. Auerbach??

Dan Auerbach -- Electric Factory, Philly -- Perhaps the most disappointing show I've ever been to. The full band thing wasn't working. It was a wall of muddled sound. His 2d guitarist was pretty good. But, his solo songs aren't what they are with the Keys, and Auerbach's lack of chops was pretty evident at this show.

Clapton / Winwood -- Wachovia Center, Philly -- Not much needs to be said here. First time I'd seen EC since 1998. I was giddy for about a month.

Allman Brothers Band -- Tweeter Center, Camden, NJ -- Again, not much needs to be said. Although, I will say two things: (1) Derek's solo on The Sky Is Crying was otherworldly; (2) Having no clue about Panic, I was interested in what they brought to the table, I was very pleasantly surprised, although I didn't care for the singer much

Jackie Greene -- World Cafe Live, Philly -- Again, one I wasn't sure about. I own all his albums, b/c friends so highly recommends him. Each album I buy, I'm disappointed, but I'm like, "something HAS to be there, let me get another." Each new purchase bums me out. BUT, live, this guy is truly something else. I'd go to see him anytime.

Jay-Z -- Wachovia Center, Philly -- Nicest surprise of the year. Jay-Z is one of my favorite rappers, but I usually avoid rap concerts like the plague, the music just doesn't translate well. But, I got some free tickets in a luxury box and my girlfriend really wanted to go, so I went. WOW. Amazing show. Jay-Z is one hell of a showman, and you can tell he takes his craft seriously. Great delivery, wasn't screaming into the mic, etc. He's a seasoned pro. And the highlight???? NO DJ. He played with a full band who was awesome. Two drummers, a guitar, bass, keyboards, and a full horns section. The band was what made the show. The drummers went at it all night long and drove that band like a good rhythm section should.

3/20 ABB @ the Beacon NYC

5/4 Ravi Shankar & Anoushka Shankar @ Belk Theatre

7/17 Jim Weider's Project Percolator @ the Double Door
7/24 Gov't Mule @ the Fillmore Charlotte
7/25 Corduroy Road @ the Gypsy Lounge in Pura Vida
8/11 B-52s / snagglepuss @ The Fillmore Charlotte
8/23 Cobra Starship @ Tremont
9/13 dTb @ Blumenthal Performing Arts Center
9/25 same as it ever was - talking heads tribute band @ the Visulite
9/26 the smithereens @ charlotte popfest @ dana auditoreum
10/3 abb @ verizon
10/4 Lingo in our backyard at our ABB preshow party
10/4 abb @ verizon
10/6 U2 & Muse @ the Georgia Dome
10/11 abb @ walnut creek in raleigh
10/24 Tom Wopat @ Booth Theatre
11/5 Mike Smith Quartet - Andy's Jazz Club - Chicago
11/7 Gentlement of Leisure Band and Revue - private AAML event - Chicago
11/7 Joanna Connor @ Kingston Mines - Chicago
11/10 Bruce Springsteen @ Time-Warner Arena
11/18 Neko Case / Deer Tick @ Knight Theatre
12/4 Jaimoe's Jasssz Band @ the Big House in Maconga
12/4 Tinsley Ellis (and special friends) @ Grant's Lounge in Maconga
12/5 dTb @ Luther Willams Field in Maconga
12/15 Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs - Snug Harbor

what's remarkable is what's so memorable looking at that list. we were front row DFC for Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, i had no idea what to expect, and what it was was a torrent of raging rhythms and fiery stringed instruments, like a crazed 3 and 4 piece indian jazz ensemble. holly golightly - holly and dave, playing aggressive electric country blues to a packed small club on a tuesday night at the end of a tour where they played mostly to empty rooms, astonished and thrilled, playing until they literally ran out of rehearsed material. Neko Case's voice. kd lang's voice. (but of the two, Neko CASE!) The neighbors practically running down the street, kids in tow, after hearing Lingo play for a few minutes. Who were the special guests 3/26? WE were. X's raging precision just weeks after the Exene MS announcement. Tom Wopat and a small jazz combo in an intimate theatre setting. seeing a few beloved acts disintegrating before my very eyes (not any band associated with this site). JAIMOE! Watching the ABB pull one off that other bands would've cancelled when Warren didn't make the show. Alejandr Escovedo tearing up the Neighborhood Theatre, my daughter and her friends at one end of the stage rocking out, us at the other. Eric Clapton being an Allman Brother for two nights, and the band standing, striding alongside like giants, the corwd hanging on every note, Clapton amazed and engaged. not a bad year, only a few shows that were disappointments, just happy to be here and happy to live in a location where there's great music within a couple miles 100+ nights - or more - every year!

More than enough for sure, but here goes anyway:

3/8- Motley Crue/Hinder/Theory of a Deadman/Last Vegas- Fun show. Major improvement over the last Crue show I saw. Missed the Last Vegas but TOAD and Hinder both put on fun shows.

3/26- Joe Bonamassa- Had heard of him but never listened to him until I heard he was coming around here. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Absolutely incredible

5/16- Get The Led Out- East Coast Led Zeppelin tribute band. Amazing. Highly recommended.

5/22- Kenny Chesney/Miranda Lambert/Lady Antebellum- Most disappointing concert I've ever been to. If it weren't for Miranda Lambert it would have been a total bust.

6/21- Aerosmith/ZZ Top- Had thought about seeing Aerosmith for a few years but never did until now. Perfect timing considering this line up probably won't ever play together again. Great show, loved hearing "Toys In The Attic" in it's almost entirety. ZZ Top were terrific as well.

7/25- Brad Paisley/Dierks Bentley/Jimmy Wayne- 2nd time seeing both Brad and Dierks, even better than the last 2. Jimmy Wayne was great as well.

8/18- Keith Urban/Jason Aldean- Great show. High energy, great crowd interaction.

9/2- Gary Allan-Another great show. Too many country shows, yes I know, but I enjoyed every one of them. Not to mention free!

9/19- Craig Morgan- OK, but too short. Last show was better.

9/24- Foreigner -Incredible. Every bit as good as back in the day, even without Lou Gramm.

9/25- Josh Turner- Meh. Like his songs but not much onstage.

9/26- Blake Shelton- Was considering skipping it due to awful weather but thank God I didn't. Fantastic show.

10/6-ABB/WSP- Need I say more?

12/4- DB&GS- Fantastic show. Even better considering the timing.
