Hi Everyone I hope you have had a lot of fun during this holiday season. I know there is always a lot to do around this time of year. Moogis is trying to make some progress in order to be in a position to bring you the Allman Brothers Band New York City Run in March of 2010.

There have been a lot of questions regarding some specific details in relation to those shows. I will try to give you the answers here as best I can at this time.

1) The Allman Brothers Band will announce the exact location and dates for these March 2010 shows in early January. Moogis is not able to speak about those specific details until the band issues a release as they do each year. All we can tell you is that, as has been the case throughout the years, there will be multiple shows in New York City during the month of March. Moogis plans to webcast these shows on the internet as we did last year assuming that we can generate enough subscriptions to make it possible. But, at this time, Moogis does not have the ability to tell you where or when these shows will take place.
2) As far as the Beacon 40th Anniversary shows being available on the Moogis website until March 1, 2010, we would like to explain this as well. When artists were recorded at the Beacon in March of 2009, they signed a license giving Moogis the right to webcast their performances until March 1, 2010. So, in accordance with this agreement, these shows will not be webcast after this date. We would love to continue to bring you these historic shows indefinitely but the technicalities involved do not allow us to do that currently. This is purely a legal issue and we know that you can all understand and appreciate it from the perspective of the artists involved and Moogis.

Moogis will continue to make all the other ABB content on the Moogis website available to you as it has been since last year. We hope to be adding new and previously unseen video in the near future.

Tell your friends that new customers can sign up for $150 until January 24, 2010. After Jan. 24 the price for a Moogis subscription will go up.

If you are among those that have previously renewed your old subscription until March 1, 2010 by paying $60 recently, you may extend your subscription until March 1, 2011 by paying $90 before January 24, 2010. If you did not pay the $60 renewal fee in November you may renew now for $150, which will extend your account until 3/1/2011. If you do not renew before January 24, you will be paying a higher rate.

Please visit www.moogis.com for details.

Have a happy and safe New Year's celebration.

Your friend,
Butch Trucks

What conditions changed? The only thing different I see is a confirmation that the price will be higher than $150 if you don't sign up by Jan 24.

My guess (and that's all it is) is that Butch was trying to address some of the questions he has been getting - like why won't last year's shows be available after March? I don't want to commit that much money without knowing how many shows, etc.

Looks to me like he was trying to explain why he couldn't say how many shows yet, and told you they would be announced before the deadline. He also explained why last year's shows won't be available.

I don't understand why people get slammed for trying to answer questions ..............

I am not trying to start anything bad or negative. It just seems as though with every update is a warning. I know that the 2010 warning came early and that this still may not happen, but it seems as though they don't have optimism in their endeavor. Every e-mail is a forewarning of what may not be. I understand operating a business but Moogis appears to operate on a conditional format. Every business owner I know operates with optimism that tomorrow may be better than today and when it is not they pull the plug. Moogis is in business to make a profit, I get it. If it can't, than oh well. It just seems it is like a restaurant that can't decide to open it's doors unless the people are already standing outside.

Exactly! Last year was awesome BUT frankly I'd like to see something closer to a standard Beacon run. That would be worth my money. Particularly if they did something like the 2005 run where there was some cool short acoustic songs and Gregg on a grand piano.

I must have missed this part last year and this year when I renewed. I'm not happy about this.

Actually, it wasn't mentioned at renewal time, which I honestly don't think was on purpose, but is why he sent this update. But it was mentioned in discussions about Moogis earlier in the year, if I remember correctly.

The $60, if you paid it, was to extend until March 2010.

Here is the email I received on 12/18 that talked about the extra $90 to extend till March 2011:

Moogis will stream live webcasts of The Allman Brothers Band New York City Run in March 2010.
Until January 24, 2010, pay $150 to subscribe. You will receive:
Live access to every show of the March 2010 New York City Run
Archived access to the 2010 shows through March 1, 2011
Access to Moogis.com with 50+ archived video and audio concerts from The ABB until March 1, 2011
Archived Access to the 2009 40th Anniversary Beacon Theatre shows until March 1, 2010
Access to Moogis.com social networking site with worldwide ABB community through March 1, 2011
If a subscriber has previously renewed his/her subscription through March 1, 2010, cost to become a subscriber for the 2010 shows will be $90 until January 24, 2010.

Please visit www.moogis.com for details.

I AGREE WITH THE REQUEST TO PUT SOME OF THIS MUSIC OUT ON DVD. IF IT IS ALREADY PRO-FILMED AND IS JUST SITTING AROUND IN A JAR, LET IT OUT! MAKE SOME MONEY AND MAKE SOME FANS HAPPY!

Plus, the bootleggers are starting to sell it anyway.

I wonder if 3/26/09 will be made available after March 1, 2010 since there were no special guests to license....

Depsite some concerns about "customer service" from some of the folks here, Moogis is a great thing IMO. I'll be in if I can scrape up the extra $. It's clear that it needs to break even at minimum and I'm not offended if they want to make a profit. I think on-demand purchases of single shows after the run (i.e. Moogis Mondays but on demand) as well as DVD releases would generate some additional $$ for the cause.

i really like the moogis concept but unfortunately i was never able to watch a whole show without having the damn thing freeze at least ten times,as far as the marketing strategy involved here,it just turns me off, this send us more cash or it's over thing is bull

It is just like any other drug I would like a fresh shot of moogis abb live on a quarterly basis throughout the year at least..not to mention sole endeavors of jaimoe, oteil, warren, derek, etc....How about some charity events?...Thats added value to me..as far as the moogis project is concerned I support the cause.....I would like it to become more socially friendly and stimulating last years shows were a blast enjoyed the Moogis bantering. Cant wait for another Wannee either...see you in the movies.....
