love the Priest .... Dreamer Deceiver, what's that, Stained Class? Can't go wrong with any of those old ones: Sin After Sin, Hell Bent..., Sad Wings of Destiny.

I think they're awesome - twin-lead guitars, they're like a heavy-metal ABB, 'specially back in the day.

Not only that - when they broke over here, they brought so many great bands on tour (NWBHM).

Peace.

Ghost of Belial, it's essential with music to be able to separate the artist from the art. Priest don't actually sing about homosexuality, so it's pretty easy to just listen to the music and not read the interviews.
Few of my favorite musicians are really people that I fully admire, as I have learned from reading interviews - I just focus on the music.
I really like the "Unleashed in the East" album, no matter how overdubbed it may be.

Don't care if Rob is gay or straight. He's the Metal God. I saw Priest in 2008 and they did "Between The Hammer and The Anvil" - a tune I'd forgotten about - and it was so good I went back and listened to the whole album (Painkiller). What a slab of metal madness that one is! They've seen some stylistic changes over the years but always put out quality music. To avoid listening to them because of one guy's sexual choices is just plain stupid.

Judas Priest, & AC/DC too -- two bands I have no albums of, many I know I'd like too, esp the older stuff -- taped the Priest Live version of Freewheel Burning on my speed-metal tape though, now there is one cranking song -- Door to Door by the Cars, Source of Infection by Van Halen, and the Atl. Pop version of Parchman Farm, by Cactus, are the others

dynamite band, they weren't around that long for nothing

opinions aside... try listening to more than one or two songs by them.

From 1974 to present, there is a variance in what they play. I don't like all of it but they do make an interesting statement in the way they covered tunes by Joan Baez and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. The guitar players are based in the same british blues styles of most players from the late 60's and early 70's. They just took it to another place with the toys that one can buy.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
