I was just on MSN & there was a list of artists who should quit making music. Here's the list:

Madonna
The Black Crowes
The Who
Ray Davies
Joni Mitchell
Bryan Adams
The Rolling Stones
Elton John
Carly Simon
Def Leppard

Personally, I disagree with The Black Crowes being on that list. Warpaint was a great album.

Not sure about the others on the list, but reply & let me know if you agree with the list.

Agree. If you don't like someone's music, don't listen to it, but who's to say what somebody else should or shouldn't do artistically.

Uh ... this is the first one of these lists that I've ever pretty much been in agreement with. Sorry!

I'd like to know who the he!! are these people who decide who should stop making music and when. They can all go eff themselves as far as I'm concerned. Anyone has the right to make any kind of music they want for as long as they want. Whether or not I or anyone else chooses to buy it or listen to it is our decision. What a bunch of a$$holes. Eff MSN. They should stop doing what they do because they suck at it.

Les Paul won two Grammys at age 90. John Lee Hooker played until his last day at 83. Johnny Winter can barely see or move and still plays the blues.

Folks can play as long as they want, period.

Although the list is stupid anyhow the fact that The Black Crowes get mentioned is ludicrous. Almost as bizarre as Rory Gallagher not making it on Rolling Stone's 100 Most Influenctial Guitarists List (or whatever it was called) from a few years ago. Stupid lists.

Madonna- stop. Havenít cared about anything shes done in 20 years

The Black Crowes- keep going. The last 2 albums were great

The Who-endless wire was pretty good. Make 1 more album and then stop

Ray Davies- donít know his solo stuff

Joni Mitchell- never liked her

Bryan Adams- each album heís made since the early 90ís gets worse. stop

The Rolling Stones- their new stuff is still good. More more

Elton John-I thought his last 3 albums were his 3 strongest since the 70ís. make more

Carly Simon- donít know anything shes done since the 70ís

Def Leppard-please stop. They sound like they are on cruise control now. Should have stopped after the mid 90ís hits collection

These are the worst people MSN can find though? What about miley cyrus or the jonas brothers?

Fair enough. But is it OK to wish the Stones would stop?

As was the Black Crowes' latest album 'Before The Freeze'. IMO their best work in many years.

The Black Crowes...LOL,that's hilarious !! Their last 2 releases did very well & were both well reviewed by critics (whom i usually don't agree with but,in this case,i do)....They're doing good enough to also release 2 dvd's since War Paint came out.....wish the ABB would take a cue from the Crowes....

This is stupid.

Black Crowes "Before the Frost.....Until the Freeze is my favorite album of 2009. What the hell do they want.....20 years of Lady GaGa. Idiots!

Wish all you want. But to state who should stop? Who made them the final word? When my kids were young they used to march around the house blowing on a recorder of banging a toy tambourine and it was nothing but noise. But to them it was music. And they were happy. And it was wonderful.

prepare to catch a lot of heat over jack white from others on here.

anyways i like george michaels music but you are late. he stopped making cd's in 2004 other than his newer greatest hits that contained a few new tunes. he stated he will no longer release physical music. he will release downloadable singles with all proceeds going to charity

The funny thing about this to me is that in rock, there is a certain amount of hipster pretentiousness that comes through.

Few people would say that BB King should stop touring - even though he is a shadow of himself and plays the same old songs, and has for the past 3 decades.

No one ever would have dissed Duke Ellington.

However, if a rock band dares to get old or play their greatest hits, the same critics/ hipsters freak out.

Pathetic.

I'll happily hear what the Who and Stones release at any point, the same way an interested reader still wants to read anything Kurt Vonnegut puts out. They are two of the most important bands in this thing called rock and roll.

I won't necessarily fork out the major cash required to see them every time, but I would never dispute their right - or legitimacy - to keep making music. I mean, come on. What, Les Paul should have quit while he was young, right? "NO guitar after age 40." Yikes.
