I canceled my reservations I made before the announcement. Tommy Talton is going to be in Swainsboro; Bluedad and I'm sure many others will be there. Col Bruce is in Macon & downtown is going to have several streets blocked off, cherry drop (something like the peach drop in Atlanta) ...both things should be fun but I will miss being in Atlanta NYE

Well, you all keep me posted, because Atlanta is exactly where I'm going to be on NYE - no kidding.

It's pretty much a sure thing at this point.

Well, Brock - why don't you and I and Randy hook up? Maybe drive down to Macon to see the Col., or over to the 5-Spot for Rico's set? I'm sure we could find some sort of trouble to barely steer clear of.

Good to hear this Randy!!! After a difficult year it will be nice for you to start the next year with new and fun experiences in the company of friends!! I'll be thinking of amazing things happening in Atlanta this NYE for you and all those you enjoy it with (while working here in Middle Earth ... somehow got stuck with the NYE oncall card )

You paint a good picture there Rusty, but I'm planning on just vegging and saving my chi for ZPZ and a few other shows beyond that.

I'd be happy seeing either YSB or the Col. . . . as long as someone can point me in the direction of Union City when it's all over.

Yeah? I don't know the area at all . . . but that's where my brother-in-law and sister-in-law live, and that's where I'll be staying.

I'll have a car, so I can drive wherever.

Widespread Panic at Phillips. The only thing that could make up for no DTB New Year's show is a healthy dose of Herring.

I will miss sharing Helen Banes birthday with her and more friends as I have done the last four years

On another note, one of the organizers of The Tommy Talton Band date has asked me to come down and open for Tommy and they guys I used to play with up until 8 months ago have acccepted and will be there. We are jazzed about opening for Tommy Gonna' play some blues and some old style R&B

I'm surprised your not hitting the WP show Randy being the Jimmy Herring fan you are. He and them rocked out playing with the Brothers last summer. I was thoroughly impressed with my first two Widespread Panic experiences. I have always been impressed with Herring!!!

hey bluedad, so what do you guys call yourselves? I'm sure the fine folks here can make a few suggestions if you don't have a band name.

in other news, here's where yonrico is tonight:

12/17/2009 7:30 PM at The Solarium , Chriskwanukkah Holiday Spectacular
321 West Hill St, Decatur, 30030
Cost: 20.00
Time to get your holiday groove on for a party with a purpose on December 17th. Put on your dancing shoes and join your neighbors for the 4th Annual Chriskwanukkah Party. It’s also a CD release event for “We Three Kings,” a jazzy, funky, and soulful collection of instrumental Christmas songs. If the CD is half as good as The Temptations Christmas Album, it will be awesoome! Yonrico, Grant Green Jr, Ike Stubblefield and others.

The event will be held in Decatur at the Solarium in Oakhurst and proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
