Perusing the set lists seems to indicate that DREAMS was not performed by the ABB between 1971 and 1988, returning with the Warren era. Is that completely accurate?

Cheers

Yes. Once Duane died, Dickey became the only slide player and apparently opted not to play the song until Warren joined...

Pretty strange to think that they went all of those years with no "Dreams"

Hi PauliG

Hmmmm, yes, perhaps too painful, but I gotta believe that Duane himself is smiling down upon the work on that tune by WH, both in the ABB and with the Black Crowes.

So, then, it would be correct to say that Betts never ever gave it a try?

Cheers

Wasn't Dickey also the reason that they didn't do Mountain Jam for so long after the band reformed in '89 or was that a group decision?

Allegedly.

Carlos,

Dreams should've been played on the nights of 3/12 & 3/13 of 1971 at the Fillmore East.

Oy.

Dreams appears to have come back on the first night of the band's reunion in 1989.

Alleged is the right word, but I think it's a very reasonable interpretation of things.

I wonder how they snuck two full versions of Mountain Jam past him in 93?

Were ABB performing "Dreams" when Molly Hatchet recorded it?

MH's first album, which featured their cover of Dreams (with the title wrong for no reason), came out in 1978. So no.
