Been watching the Crossroads DVD from 2007, and Tal caught my eye playing with Jeff Beck, I did Wiki search on her and and was surprised to note that she guested with the ABB in 2006 and also with Susan Tedeschi. Anyone with datese and info on this? This young lady sure can play

If you want to watch and listen to 2-1/2 hours of her wailing her little heart out, get the Jeff Beck DVD, "Live at Ronnie Scott's".

I had a big dose of Tal's bass magic in about half a year. Saw her with Jeff Beck twice this summer and saw her various times at last year's Christmas Jam. She did an awesome "IMOER" with the Brothers that got her a standing ovation from Butch ans she also played twice with Gov't Mule. She guested with Ron Holloway on "I Can't Quit You" at the pre-jam. On day one of the jam she guested on "Sco Mule" with Robben Ford (wicked!). And then there was "Thank You Falletime Be Mice Elf" on which she guested with Eric Krasno, W. Haynes and Danny Louis during Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk's set.
And last but not least she did a 10 minute bass jam with Oteil and Raymond Weber at the pre-jam that got christened as "On The Spot". Been a fan every since. Cool trivia: in Jeff Beck's 2009 Tour Program there's a small bio on Tal and she mentioned the Christmas Jam as one of her achievements (along side the Crossroads Festival).

Damn. it's so cool to see she's playing with Jeff Beck again. Tal is a great player indeed. But after Jeff formed yet another band it has gotten a bit quiet around her. I know she has been working on her second CD and will also be singing on that release but even her website had few and far in between updates in the last 2 years.

Fun thing is that i wanted to post about seeing her live a couple of times but just discovered i already did (since this is not a new thread but started 1 1/2 year ago) .

Young, immensely talented musicians like Tal give me hope that rock music has a chance to remain vibrant and vital long after the "old guard" has hung up their axes...

God bless her

Oteil Burbridge and Tal Wilkenfeld jammin out @ the Christmas Jam 2008 at the
Orange Peel Pre-Jam; this is a 4 minute clip of a 10 minute bass jam called "On The Spot".
I must have been standing approx 20 feet to the right of the person who filmed this.
What a night; what a weekend!
