Tough one.

I'll go with three. N.I.B., After Forever, Spiral Architect

Edit: I had erroneously referred to N.I.B. as "Nativity in Black," which has apparently long been a fan nick-name of the song, but is not official.

Very tough one indeed Randy. Mine will probably surprise most but if I gotta pick just one it would be 'Rock and Roll Doctor' off of 'Technical Ecstasy'.

Gotta see my Rock and Roll Doctor
Gotta see him, see him today
He gonna blow me away

Close second for 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' which was the last song we would play in the locker room before hitting the field in high school football.

War Pigs is also a masterpiece!

Just one? puhhh-leeze.....Black Sabbath ruined my life, how can I pick just one?!?

Warning- off the debut
Faries Wear Boots
After Forever
Into the Void
Supernaut

I will put this plug in as well.
I've bought the Sanctuary vinyl remasters of the debut album and Master of Reality, and they are flat out amazing. Its like listening to completely different music. Extensive liner notes and essays. The clarity and seperation of the instruments is amazing. Just listening you gain a completely new appreciation for Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, and how integral they were to the band.

After Forever always seemed like Geezer's bass was bubbling along in the background, but on the remaster, he is all over Iommi's riff, right up front. And Bill Ward? when they are coming out of the instrumental bridge on Sweetleaf, back into the main riff, its just frightening the speed and precision he is playing with, and its all clear and upfront.

These remasters were so good, I immediately ordered Vol. 4 (can't wait to hear Supernaut like this) and Sabotage.

My understanding is that there are also cds out for the Sanctuary remasters, that put the Rhino Black Box to shame (and yeah, I've got that as well)

I'll have to say Faeries Wear Boots, if only because it's my wife's favorite song, and I love being married to a woman that rocks so hard Faeries Wear Boots is her favorite song Heck, if anything her taste in music is heavier than mine.

I once asked the band Rose Hill Drive to play it for her, and they did I scored major points with the wife for that one, as the married men will understand.

War Pigs is another all-time classic. Love the lyrics to that one.

CRAP! I'm SO conflicted!

After Forever
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_NueytPXUM

I'll just nominate the entire Master of Reality album! I got a copy of it for my 12th birthday (in 1973) from an older neighbor friend. I still have it.

Yes sir...!

Hard to only pick one as I am a total fan.

All time favorite would have to be War Pigs.

But my honorable mentions (besides Solitude...good one Dave!)

Fairies Wear Boots
Paranoid
After Forever
Orchid
Children of the Grave
Illusion
Cornucopia
Laguna Sunrise
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Fluff
Looking for Today
Spiral Architect
Symptom of the Universe
Megalomania
Dirty Women
Junior's Eyes

I enjoy some of the Dio, Glenn Hughes, and Tony Martin tracks as well, but I'm sticking with the Ozzy era for this one ...

I sure most of you have seen these vids, but I'd be slacking if I didn't post them for those who haven't. Your in for a real treat, for hard rock fans, this is like having video of dinosaurs walking the Earth.
Some issues with exactly where this is, its suppose to be Paris, but more likely was shot in Belgium, but the time frame is definitely December 1970, 10 months after the debut album, and 3 months after the release of Paranoid.

Sabbath, young, wild, hungry, feelin' it, and dealing it.....
(check out Ozzy and Bill Ward....no ear protection, and you know they've got it cranked)

War Pigs (w/ Ozzy singing the original Walpurgis lyrics)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wwccDLfUV4&feature=related

Fairies Wear Boots
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krKeEW8tEA0&feature=related

Behind The Wall Of Sleep (a rare airing off the debut album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix-AGd0X6u4&feature=related

NIB
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W41-4KMvgzM&feature=related

Search around on You Tube and you can also find Iron Man, Paranoid, Hand of Doom, Rat Salad, Black Sabbath from the same show. Its an awesome concert video if you can get your hands on it.....

Love the hacking cough at the beginning of Sweet Leaf....must've been a massive bong hit!

Too many great songs to pick one but those first 4 Sabbath records maintained a remarkable level of consistency.

Personally always thought Sabbath was Ozzie's band and they should've used a different name with Dio. Oh yeah, they did.
