OK so I have been loving the shows I've listened to from this year - great thread on dtb radio - but is there any sense out there of which dates stand out above the others? And or, which ones are there the best recordings of out there?

the latest on dTb radio is one of the cleanest almost SBD I have heard all year. (From Paris)

A good recording is the Nashville show from this year 09-17-09 w/ Jack , 11-??-05 from Berlin Jazz Fest and another one I was given a word about is 07-23-2001 Armory High, real nice show.
Still waiting on the 03-31-06 show w/Herring...if it ever surfaces. Best dTb show I've ever been to.
There's a ton of good shows out there though.

The summer DC show (National Harbor) with a big sit in the the Souive boys should get a mention. great energy and a rare Rico vox rap.

I think 12/3 Variety Playhouse just became a serious contender for show of the year. They were absolutely on fire tonight, plus Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Susan, Duane Trucks, Col. Bruce, Tinsley Ellis and horns for most of the night.

You Atlantans don't get enough DTB. that show was good, but definitely not top ten.

What can I say. I'm partial to unusual setlists and guest-heavy shows. Almost every DTB show is guaranteed to be a good one, but I absolutely love hearing old bust-outs (Younk Funk? really??) and awesome guests (you can never get too much DTB + Herring). I'd actually suggest that us "Atlantans" get too much DTB (that's not possible, but you get my point). The Athens show with Herring was pretty dang nasty too, especially Jimmy's work on Leavin Trunk and We're a Winner. Anyway, I'm right, you're wrong, deal with it, I win.

I agree that Feel So Bad and Young Funk were the highlights of the show. Derek and Jimmy have incredible chemistry up on stage. And I am waiting with the rest of this forum to hear the Athens show...

Wow. Very good quality! And a great (though short) setlist. Hard to tell on these crappy headphones at work....but sounds like it was recorded for radio.

best crowd at a show might have to go to the Cape Cod Melody Tent. The music was great too, but for a sit down crowd, it was really rowdy!

The show in Albany last night was the best I've ever heard from them. Approximately 2.5 hours, 2 sets. The energy level peaked early on and didn't drop until they walked off after the "Anyday" encore. It was a great end to a 16 year run.

Here's to hoping the band releases Albany as their live release in 2010! Last show before I hiatus, career spanning setlist, rave reviews, and even a mention on derektrucksband.com. Seems like an obvious choice to me. I'd much rather have a full show rather than pick and choose songs from various shows.

I was not there (damn) and have not heard it (yet), but on emotion and principle, I would have to suggest the Albany show.

I agree, that would make the most sense: the show was fire, Derek must have had a conglomerated 35-45 minutes of soloing time. haha. Just an awesome show all around.
