Did anyone ever find a copy of this show? I know that there was a running joke about it for awhile, but surely somebody's found a copy of it somewhere, right? I refuse to give up on this one. Probably one of the most amazing shows I've ever been to, but can't find a copy of it anywhere. Is it still MIA?

We'll get it one day. I've inquired about it FWIW. Problem is (as I understand it) the only tape that we know of from that night is the SBD, and we can't release that to fans (so it goes w/ Sony Music). So unless an AUD pops up we're probably S.O.L. for the time being...

Well you are the first of the band to confirm that... I told you Jon...

Great...!!! I was concerned that when the equipment van truck, trailer ??? got heisted that much of the gear was hocked and would never be seen again including a soundboard recording. If it surfaces...I'll be right in line for it.
Maybe the show really sucked...and thats why it never was to be heard.

That did not suck Jon and you know it! LOL!

I'm in line for this too. My most favorite pairing is Derek and Jimmy!

this might be a dumb question, but why doesn't Sony want it released?

That's great news to know that there IS a recording. Please keep it safe and back up a copy (copies) off site so it may someday see the light of day! If you want me to hold a copy for safe-keeping, just let me know. I'll sleep better tonight knowing that there is a fair chance I'll get to hear this one again someday.

But in the mean time, your best bet is to start harassing all the tapers in the greater-Athens area to see if you can't squeeze a recording out of one of them.

Been there, done that...

Well, I guess I'm glad to hear that a copy of this show (and a soundboard no less) exists somewhere. I just wish there was a way I could get it. The thing is, I know full well that as much as we all love the DTB they are not as big as the ABB, Mule, Panic, Phish, etc. I know that it would not be profittable for them to release every one of their shows like the ABB Instant Lives or the Mule Tracks. But it might be profittable to release a couple of choice shows as downloads from their site. I know that I would pay 15-20 bucks for a copy of that show, and judging from the responses in this thread, I doubt I'm the only one. I don't know if they would be able to do that without pulling the recordings from archive, though.

if you're jonesin' for the dTb+JH, snag a copy of the recording from Variety Playhouse a few Christmas's NYE's ago (2005?) where he sits in for a full set. another amazing night. the guitar geeks were all geeked up talking aobut maybe seeing the two that night, and we all got their wish.

time is free...

I agree that most of us would pay $15-20 for a SBD of a few shows from the past few years. I think North Mississippi Allstars have done something similar.....not releasing every live show like Mule, ABB, etc.....but selecting a few from the vaults and releasing one each month or so. Seems easy to me....and I'm guessing costs would be minimal since there is no real "production". I don't think they would need to pull anything down from archive.org though. Having access to so many DTB shows for free only gets me more excited for every "official" release. Plus, the quality on archive.org can't really compare to an official band release.

But of course, I would be ok with some "accidently" leaking the 3/31/06 show, and I wouldn't report it to Sony either!

I didn't mean to mislead... I've asked about the show, but I don't have the show, nor have I ever heard the show. I sure would love to though.

I talked to Derek (you know he has a copy), who was gonna start a vine, but it seems he ran out of blanks, and is waiting for some Ty's to come in.
