I'm signing up for the Moogis extension today, hoping enough folks do to make the magic 500 they need to extend it 'til the 2010 spring run, and since the cost gets applied to next year's subscription it's a pretty good deal. Moogis has been fantastic, and I don't even have highspeed, going to friends', coffeeshops and the occasional night at motels and the office to experience its excellent camerawork and sound, and blistering performances. I like Raleigh summer 2001, and the audio shows from summer 2008 but of course the highlight is the amazing Beacon run. I've spent the most time with the Clapton and Dead nights, followed closely by Buddy Guy and the Phish guys, Susan's 4 song set on the 23rd, the Soul serenade session with the guys from King Curtis, the jazzbos on the 14th, Boz Scaggs, Jimmy Herring, and any show with Chuck!

I didnt do it.
I was hoping for a better benefit than just getting the see the existing shows in their catalog.
What about a discount for the early signers?

has anyone else wondered about the fact that it's only $30k? Maybe that's not the point?

I re-upped. Moogis is great and for me here in the frozen north, it will be a long cold winter with little in the way of quality or quantity of live music.

A little moogis action will help bridge the gap. Hope they get their 500.

You do get your money back if they don't reach the 500 mark. I hope if they get close they extend the offer. Heck I have wasted 60 bucks eating at a terrible restaurant. Most of the ABB fans on here are pretty show hungry.......I hope to see it expand to other ABB shows, and even other bands. But we got to help it survive if we ever hope to see any expansion.

Usually discounts are offered when something that is successful slows down sales wise. Maybe Butch should had said it should be 80 bucks but if you act now you can get it for 60. Then someone will want it for 40. Like he has said before its hard to make everyone happy. If it were any other band, I probably wouldn't touch it, but it being the Allman Brothers Band...................well what more can I say. They're my favorite band.

I would have done it, if they would have known how much the 2010 NYC run would cost. They didn't know what the price would be, so I just couldn't put the $60 down as a down payment without knowing what the final payment would be.

I do hope they get the 500 and that the price isn't too much in March, because I enjoyed it last year.

I'm not understanding where you're going here.

I did not do it because I'm not interested in watching these shows any more. I have seen others say reupping will help ensure Moogis will reappear next March, but I have not seen this said by Butch or the Moogis team. Did I miss that or are we speculating?

Just received a email from Butch and Moogis

Hi Moogis Lovers – We’re getting closer to our goal of 500 Moogis subscription renewals. If the positive responses keep coming at the rate they have been, we ought to be able to hit our target by sometime late on Saturday, November 14. If you are “on the fence” about paying the $60 subscription renewal fee, think about the enjoyment you have been able to receive by watching the 2009 Allman Brothers Band Beacon Run on Moogis since last March. For very little money, you can continue to see these amazing shows plus all the other ABB content on the site.

We hate to push you so hard about this deal. It’s not something we feel good about doing when times are hard for everyone. But we know that if we don’t get to our magic number by November 15, the site will be shut down next week. So, if you are motivated even slightly to renew your Moogis subscription and have not done it so far, you need to make it happen now. That is the straight story.

If you have already renewed your subscription, thank you for your support. It is most gratifying to see how many of you have responded with warm and positive comments. They are most appreciated. Moogis has tried to bring you something amazing for a really good price. We know we’ve succeeded in doing that. We want to be able to continue to make these great shows available to you for as long as possible.

As soon as we know for certain how many people have renewed their subscriptions, we will let you know. You will probably hear from us once more early on Monday, November 16 to give you the results of the subscription renewal campaign.

Thank you for all your support for Moogis.

If they do not get 500 people to reup by 11/15 Moogis is dead.

If they get exactly 500 people, I wonder what that means the total price for the NYC run will be in March?

I view it more as an investment. I've already watched most of what's on there.
Not sure if their will be any new content before the March NYC run, but just to
keep the experiment going I re-upped. I went to 2 Beacon shows and watched
the rest live. I think its a great idea, but they may have been burned by the
loss of the Beacon after they did all the work to set it up for video. Hopefully
this will move forward and we will see shows from other bands as well.

I know that much, was just curious what the price would be. Wouldn't they have an idea based on last year around how much it would cost.

Until the next NYC run, I get that. Where exactly has Butch said the whole concept is gone forever if $30k is not received? The bandwidth for the next 3.5 months costs something, so it's less than $30k that is the difference in it being resold in March or not? I'm dubious.

Same here. I'm hurting financially and want to know if the price for the 2010 run will be reasonable before I spend the $60. I have watched much of the 2009 run multiple times and loved every bit of it but I do have limits on what I can spend on something like this and have other things to consider(how many shows I want to attend + Mountain Jam coming up). My entertainment budget is lower than ever and I have to choose what I can afford to attend and or watch streamed. If things weren't so tight I would have already re uped.

I'm hurting financially and haven't bought anything for months... it's been depressing. But I put the $60 on my credit card (even though I shouldn't've). I guess I just feel the whole thing is worth it.

Brock, it just seems a bit odd to me that we're only talking about $30k. That seems like a very low number to 'put your hand out' for? Maybe not? I really am not 'going anywhere' with this aside from that simple observation.

From what I've seen from Moogis, it is just to buy bandwidth to keep the shows up for 3.5 months, so maybe $30k covers that only, w/ a bit of profit to spare (nothing wrong w/ that). But I agree w/ you, $30k can't be a make or break amount for the future viability of Moogis.

I forgot to elaborate on my first post....maybe it's not the $30k that is the issue but that 500 more people will sign up for 'those w/the power'/real investment to 'believe' in MOOGIS as a concept/product worth investing in? Pure speculation on my part.

It's just hard for me to fathom the the 'dream' may die b/c of $30k. There has to be more to it than that?! But what do I know...I'm just an ABB phreak.

I'll say this - I'd pay $60 per DVD of the Beacon shows I wanted. Seriously. How has that not been majorly explored/exploited?!

As far as I'm concerned the $60 pays for the extension. I loved the 2009 Beacon run and continue to watch/listen to it. The fact the $60 dollars is a down payment on the 2010 NYC run seems like a mighty fine bonus.

The CD's are running $27 per show plus shipping. Moogis is a great freakin' deal!

I really hope 500 good folks sign up.
