That Sh!t will make you wanna just throw down your guitar and say I am done. I have been playing for about 15 years, and could not even think about playing like this guy. I just can't wait to hear him in Gadsden!

Hey Peach,
I have seen Jack play since he was 13. Even at that age he had what it takes. I had the pleasure of Jammin with him in 80 or 81 when he came back from Texas. Even though he was only 20-21 he out played most of the older guys.

You will not be disappointed when you hear him play. I look at his playing 2 ways: Inspiration to play better and enough logic to know that Jack has forgotten more than I will ever know.

You should hear him play a B3 or for that matter, Mandolin.

Enjoy the show.

...Yes, SUPERB is the word! Jack really is an amazingly astute and sophisticated player.
He must have the lightest touch on the fetboard I've ever seen, effortless. I have been trying to develop that kind of touch in my playing for many years, but it just doesn't seem to happen or develop the way I want to. ...His touch is "liquidy light" for lack of a better "made up" term ....and that Gibson tone, wow! Even better than his G&L tones...He really needs to put a Jazz band together and get real traditional on us...His Wes Montgomery licks are great!

You know although I like the current ABB a lot better than the Jack/Dickey lineup, I was always amazed at Jack's playing and how non-repetitive he is. His improvisational ideas run so deep and he really understands music from the inside-out. In fact, Dickey's playing seemed kind of overly generic, standard and almost rehearsed next to Jack's fluid and off the cuff approach. Jack from a technical standpoint was like two levels over Dickeys stock riffs that we have heard for many years. I always wished Jack was turned up louder in the mix too because I needed to hear those brilliant chops better...

Thank for the link Jules!

I just watched those videos the other day. Pretty much rocked my world. Funny, I never want to throw down my guitar. I wanna learn to play like that. I'm gonna go and pick up some wes soon so I can get more into jazz. I also picked up Do What's Right. Listening to it right now. It's making me happy! Love Jack!

Good God! Why do I ever bother to pick up a guitar? Like watching Michael Jordan.
