Every musician has their own sound/tone - comparing them is like apples/oranges - each has their own flavor - enjoy at will

In my opinion;Bonamasso's like a copy machine who duplicates guitar parts, persona & moves from others perfectly but Derek's like a 'sponge' who absorbs & assimilates music then creates his own & can build a solo to an incredible level. Derek can stand onstage as an equal to Santana,Chic Corea,Clapton,BB,and "any" of the few greats. They will undoubtedly treat him with respect as an equal too. There's very few in that category. Derek stands alone as a slide player just as Duane sadly stood alone the short time he was here.

Joe's regular, nightly touring band is not 12 pieces, CanadianMule. He may do a few one off shows like that or when he's making a video, with backup singers, but it's not his everyday band. Never has been. You're gonna mislead people who go to Joe's shows and are looking for a TTB size band, and that ain't 'funny'. His current band has 5 members, this year. Two years ago it was 4. His current website lists Joe and a killer 5 member band. I'm not putting him down, and I agree you can't, and probably shouldn't, because it's futile, compare the two. ...But, what the TTB does ...to sell out multiple nights in big venues, consecutively, and headline festivals with a 12 piece band is not being done, by anyone.

If you want to believe that the TTB is the only large size band touring then not much that I can say will sway you I guess. But just give it some thought. Any artist touring with a horn section and singers will have a band that size.

I do understand what you are trying to say and it is rare in this era to have a large band but they are hardly "the only band" doing it.

Not selling out places obviously and not on the same level but some friends in Ottawa also do the large band thing. They have been picking up lots of steam lately.

Very tight band. Thought some may like to see/hear.
