Third row Loge 2 for $335 ain't bad. I'd certainly pay that if I were up there tonight. I hope for a similar "deal" for the 28th when I am in NYC.

Its a shame that we have been conditioned to accept this.

there dropping because the band mailed it in . WED night They look like they were fulfilling a obligation .(I was far from the only one feeling this). If not for the venue and the great NY fans who are a big reason they lasted 45 years ,you would think the band would care enough to put on a show worthy of what this place has done for there pockets .....

Shocking at how little fanfare and commemoration has been put into the final run.

Sadly, I do think Gregg's health could be a huge factor in that a) he doesn't have the physical ability to do ABB shows anymore beyond "fulfilling an obligation and b) based on Gregg's health, no one wants to book more shows, events or merchandising tie-ins because it's too risky.

Having said that though, the run is now happening and it was just another Tuesday night around here on opening night. We got a pulse last night, but the vibe this week still feels like a coma. No streaming, no chatroom activity, no special merchandise pitches, no interviews. Nothing beyond Alan Paul who seems to be a one-man PR department and the good people at HTW putting on a party this Saturday.

You would also like to think the band would make some sort of statement on this website thanking Lana and Rowland and all the other people who have helped over the years.

Or a statement beyond the press release announcing this Beacon run which - read the fine print - will be the end of the band.

I realize they have said their thanks and everything in private and they don't have to make an announcement but damn, they ought to do SOMETHING. It really gives me the impression that they do not care. I realize this band means the world to them, but at the same time the deafening lack of commemoration makes me think that they view it as something they love but moved on from a long time ago.

If nothing else, the Allman Brothers ought to be recognized in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as the only rock band in history to NOT cash in on a farewell tour.

Sorry for the rant. Not happy about The End I guess.

I totally agree with you. I felt they rushed through the entire first set - 9. tunes in an hour and 15? Barely any real back and forth between Warren and Derek? I can only hope they hear the criticism and wake the f up before the next show.
