I was thinking today about the ABB show that Razor, Slim and me saw in Council Bluffs when Bobo was really starting to slip. We called him several times with concert calls and told him how much we were thinking of him.

Bob always thought so much of Derek's talent that he made an extraordinary attempt to see the DTB in Pixburg as his health was collapsing. Bob had neuropathy (SP?) in his legs from the chemo, didn't drive much because he had no feeling in his feet. He drove an hour from his home to see the DTB and when Bob got there, the show was sold out. He turned around and went home.

Leaving the ABB show that night, I ran into Derek and told him about all this and told him candidly that Bob didn't have much time left. I asked Derek if he would call Bob and wish him well. Derek gladly agreed to do so. It's that humanity from Derek that I admire even more than his playing and it's hard to describe how highly I hold Derek's musical ability. One of a kind on many different levels.

Little known fact, years ago, I attended a Bruce Springsteen concert. When folks saw me there, they started chanting "Cooooooot! Coooooooot!"

That dumbass Springsteen thought they were yelling "BRUUUUUUCE!"

Ugh...watching 60 min about third party companies that collect your info not only as you click around the web but also as you walk the planet with your "smart phone" in your pocket. I feel like I need a shower. Coot probably keeps them scratching their heads, though!

I remember this and know how powerful that call was. All involved in this are top notch in my book. What a nice gesture for you to make it happen. Makes me think those things Sang says about you may not be entirely true.

Actually, as I think back, it was in the parking lot at the DMW and I was waiting on some road equipment to get in the parking lot (you and Johnny were in the car right behind me) and once I got parked, Derek & Susan were headed to their car. I stopped him and reminded him about his graciousness and told him that every time Bob and me talked before he passed, he told me how much that call meant to him. I wanted Derek to know that his kindness was not unrewarded. You and Johnny were right there, we walked in together.

Yep, remember it well. Derek gave us the super secret sign to watch his back when he saw you approaching.

How the hell is this supposed to get you to buy you a new car? All I can think about is the legs and ass on that woman.
