the wife caught me checking out youtube vids of a Squier Classic Vibes telecaster last night

she knew I went to the GC to pick up strings over the weekend and was wondering
what took me so long, as I was dicking around with one of these

gotta say, for a Squier, it plays REALLY sweet

so she says if I want, get one for my b'day

did NOT expect that from a frugal franny at all

just don't know if I really need it. Strat is very nice but doesn't get that twang thing

hmmm ....

be a man and get a Les Paul

a Squire Tele? ya cheap bastid

have an Epi Les Paul tribute - very nice

The Squier Classic Vibe Teles have been getting rave reviews for a few years now
from various music forums due to their playability, tone and yes, cheapness

many reviews blowing away the mexican and american made models

so, yeah, I'm a cheap bastid

still haven't decided if I want to go through with it
the tendonitis keeps flaring up

What's WRONG with you?

I love my Squier Jag bass. Some of us don't have unlimited $$$ to spend on instruments, you know...

I wouldn't say unlimited............

I've only coveted three basses in my life and I'm pretty sure I'll never own any of them.

Since I was 15, I've wanted a Mapleglo Rickenbacker 4001 (now 4003), the MSRP on a new one is now $1,950. Eek!

The other one is the Geddy Lee Signature Fender Jazz. $1,000. Still too high.

Gibson Thunderbird. $1,100.

Three strikes and I'm out...

I covet many guitars ... and amps

but won't pay over $500 these days for something I'm just gonna plink on
in the basement

I've never coveted a guitar... maybe the guy playing the guitar, but not the guitar. However, I can understand how a guitar can be sexy and of course the man playing it.

Oh, and good afternoon slackers.

Don't even have Spacemonkey here to call me a Hussie for my covetous ways where guitar players are concerned.

I'm not much of a player, but I seem to keep accumulating guitars.

I've been playing a Gibson SG Special Faded a fair amount lately. Picked it up 3 or 4 years ago for less than $400 at a Guitar Center special event. One of those "List" events.

My only half-expensive guitar is a entry-level Taylor acoustic. Bought that the same way.

Anyone pick up any of the Danelectro reissues? If you catch them when the next model is coming out, you can get a great little guitar for a steal.

Yes, it does. John's untimely demise was just such an incredible & stunning shock. This one hurt bad.
