Yes, she is a beauty too and an awesome tennis player but there is just something about Rogi...

Maria and Roger are both playing well, like the champs they are.
Will it be Maria, Kim or Serena to take the championship? Serena is playing very well. Her match yesterday against Peer was the best match on the women's side I've seen so far.
Looking forward to some exciting upcoming men's and women's matches.

Hello to everyone!

Colin, and Petri, glad to hear you are both safe. I was thinking about all the EU guys during the storm.

David, nice to see you drop in here. Hope all is well with you and yours.

In couple of hours I'm off to see Bob Seger in Toronto. The weather is not very good right now... snowy, blowy and reduced visibility. It will be a miracle if there are no accidents on the highway we drive into TO. The 401 is a treacherous place to be in this kind of weather.
Ah well, hopefully all will be well and we will get there on time and in one piece!

Love to all!

Hello everyone,

and hello to you Colin! Hey, I WILL write you, just have been busy at work and lazy at home, heh heh... And check out von Hertzen Brothers http://www.vonhertzenbrothers.com that I shamelessly puffed the other day. Rob liked the samples... They are just about the only contemporary Finnish rock band that sounds good to me... I leave HIM and Lordi and Nightwish to the youngsters, heh heh...

Kim, I hope you made it safely to Toronto and back. I hate driving when it's snowing and blowing... Did you enjoy Bob Seger?

We finally have a winter also here in South Finland, it has been lightly snowing for the past couple of days and we have a few inches of that white stuff on the ground. Looks lovely...

Good morning world

We are finally having sustained winter like tempratures here. Finally
We have a liittle snow on the ground not much

Weather has been favorable to make souppy. It is a dry cured sausage that the is made by the Italians here in Westerly RI. Some one was kind enough to share there recipe with me So I have been making it for the last 5 years. Last year I lost 100lbs due to bad weather for curing. I made 50 lbs last weekend and it is curing really nice. This weekend I am making another 500lbs with a bunch of guys. I am only taking 50 lbs of that.

Colin you will be sampling the souppy! I am bringing some to the Beacon this year.

Yes Kim tell us how Bob Seger was

HI guys!

Thanks for your good concert wishes!

The weather turned out to be not bad as we drove out of our area. We drove out of bad and into good weather. And no accidents...could not have asked for a better drive.

Got there in good time and hung out at the Scotland Yard for some food and beverages {a pint of Fosters and a half pint of Tuborg for me...yummm }. Walked up to the ACC, bought a shirt for Sandy. Ran into Karen {Big Six Peachhead}, her daughter Nicole and mom Liz and chatted with them for a few minutes. Colin, it sounds like you and Karen are going to be at the Beacon at the same time.
Show started with a young guy and his band named Steve Azar. Pretty enjoyable, kind of country, southern, bluesy...liked his electric guitar player who played a lot of very nice single note slide.
Bob started at about 8:45 {played till almost midnight with only an 8 minute intermission}. Great and large band...3 female backup singers who also played some percussion, 4 horns, organ, piano {a Grand...how often do you see a real piano on stage?}, Don Brewer, drummer for Grand Funk Railroad {smokin!}, Bob's longtime sax player {very gregarious as well as smokin}, longtime bass player {since 1969} holding everything down and two guitar players. His lead guitar player was very good, with lots of opportunities to play short solos and sections. No really loooong solos a la the Brothers but a few longish solos which I didn't care for that much cause he used that shredding tone...a bit like Zack Wild {sp?}. Actually, I'm picking nits cause he was very good, but I have to say that I would have preferred Warren in the band playing extended solos! Bob was awesome...voice was top notch, as good as ever, he played some piano and acoustic and electric guitar and he was so connected, engaging and respectful to the audience.
Lots of song highlights: Mainstreet, Betty Lou, Old Time Rock and Roll, We've Got Tonight, Turn The Page, Katmandu, Night Moves, Hollywood Nights, Against The Wind and Rock and Roll Never Forgets. He also played quite a few cuts off his new album which I enjoyed as well. Not sure if there are any hits there but it's hard to tell with only one listen. I think the title cut was quite good.
The audience surprised me...I've never been part of a more enthusiastic audience in Canada. The crowd was so effusive {and loud! } in their appreciation. Huge energy and quite a bit of singing along in all the right places.
Overall, it was a really great experience. A1 band, performance and songs and Bob was singing his heart out and showing appreciation to the fans.
I give this show 2 thumbs up and recommend it to ALL if you should get the chance to go.

Thanks Colin.

A while after I spoke with Karen at the show, I thought I should have asked her to give you a hug from me. I regretted that I did not think to ask her to do that. Sooo, I'll have to settle for giving you a big cyber hug right now! {{{{{{HUG}}}}}}

Rob, hey, your faves are my faves too! I was especially happy to hear Mainstreet.

Garry, g'day to you too! Maria's in the final. That must make you happy!

Happy day to all...

Hi Folks, This ain't freezin', Colin, this is summer temperatures in Glasgow! Having said that, I'm all blocked up with the cold and recovering from the dissappointment of a very poor Willie Nelson concert in Cardiff last night- rescued somewhat by the memory of Sharon Shannon and the wonderful Eddie Reader as support. British trains keep better time than that drummer!

Good afternoon my friends!

Hello Rob, you're on-line!

Hey, it's been a busy week and my daughter Aura has been sick, nothing serious, just the usual wintertime bug. I just had to stay at home for a couple of days to take care of her... which was a welcomed break from work.

We have had a proper winter here in Finland for some time now, temperature way down below the freezing point and lotsa snow, snow, snow...

I hope you all are feeling fine. See yo all later!

Hi Rob! Thank you for posting this announcement here!

This is exciting news! It's been a loooong while since the dTb played Toronto {Feb. 01, opening for Eric Johnson} and I was losing hope that the band would ever be back this way. Oh me of little faith!
Sandy and I have had many good times at the TO Jazz festival and this will be a highlight for us I'm sure. One year we saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, a memorable show.
Regarding Susan, I think I read somewhere that she would be joining Derek's band for some shows. Is this what you are referring to? I enjoy Susan very much and I would love to see her in D's band.

Petri, I hope Aura is feeling better. Love to you and to all...
