My absolute pleasure...
Take your sweet time with mastering "Tampa", Skip, and get it "right".
It sounds like Duane was having a tough time that day in '70, but for my money gave us some music that would be at the top of the list of stuff I'd play for some kid wanting to know more about what Duane Allman was all about...

its really awsome to know that duane era shows are still popping up from time to time.
who knows what the future may bring, perhaps an official duane era footage dvd with great sound quality
ahh only a pipe dream |

07/10/70 (aka 07/26/70) @ SUNY Gym, Stony Brook (1 disc)
Whilst 07/26/70 is the date that this show has always been traded under, the correct date is actually 07/10/70.
The final verification came from Skip (captskipper) Littlewood, who wrote:
To further comment on the verification of the 7/10/70 date, I contacted a fellow about a year ago who was on the StonyBrook sound and light crew who actually helped put that tape together. Just for everyone's info & records, the circulating material is in fact a compilation of the early and late shows from 7/10/70 and not one show.
It is therefore confirmed that 07/10/70 is the correct date for the show(s).
Track List:
Don't Keep Me Wonderin'
Stormy Monday
In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
You Don't Love Me
Dreams
Mountain Jam
has it been explained how, if this is a July show, YDLM is on the setlist? ____________________ it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove

| I was at this show. While I can't argue that I recall this being played I think the evidence indicates that it certainly could have been. Note that this version is only 6 minutes long. It definitely wasn't the extended workout that it became, indicating that this was an early test version. The song next shows up on a setlist on Sept. 4 at the Scene in Milwaukee (lots of missing setlists in between) and I have no idea as to length though a tape exists. The time sequence and the primitive version indicates that the Stony Brook show content and date are not invalid. ____________________

The Sept 4 version is 9 minutes long, so longer than the SUNY but still without the extended jam that was to follow. The fact that it was longer than the SUNY version "suggests" that it is "probably" later and hence gives credence (but not proof) to the SUNY being from 7/10. ____________________

OK - another mystery.
i seem to have acquired a show dated 11-19-70 Boston Tea Party
4 tracks, opens with a faded in Statesboro Blues. concludes with a 44 minute Mountain Jam. The first minute or so is very quiet, then the levels increase to acceptable areas.
good sound, kinda trebly.
any ideas what i could compare it to to see if it's mislabeled? ____________________ it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove

| RLY ... the "Boston Tea Party" is a well known bootleg that is a bogus show ... I believe it is a compilation of two other shows (can't remember which - Clay probably knows) put together by an unscrupulous bootlegger for his own ill gotten gains ... ____________________

The Boston Tea party is usually either 3/13, 4/4, 5/2, 7/26 & 9/4, or, a combination of any and all. There's probably six or seven differant versions out there. It's all made up bull$hitt in order to create a date. |

7-19-70
Hmmm can anyone compare info on 7-19-70 ?
My TWO disk version
1. Trouble no more
2. Keep me wonderin
3. Black Hearted
4. Stormy monday
5. This seems like a garbled mess - but it sounds like the Mahavishnu Orchestra
6. Mountain jam. (this is the same as on the Love Valley footage)
disk 2
1. Liz reed
2. Whippin Post - Not Love Valley footage version
3. Liz Reed - (SBD - switches source during Betts' solo)
4. ( interview with Bill graham) -
1-21-71 Winterland
- you don't love me
- beginning of post
---------------------------------------------
So 7-17-70 has the Whippin Post, and Mountain Song from the Love Valley footage, - yet the Cue cards on the actual footage say 7-19-70
So, does anyone know any more .... or have i just gotten myself confused?
Cheers - Dave ____________________

Dave, I think it's basically same as original source I did some work for.
Disc 1 track 5 seems a part of Mountain Jam and I applied it as so. However, my Mountain Jam was totally not good, and would like to compare with your 2 discs version. (not only Mountain Jam but also all the tracks! LOL)
Following is the track list of original source and mine and it was almost full for 700Mb CD-R (80 minutes).
7/19/'70 Love Valley Festival, Love Valley, NC 1CD : From Miles
1. Trouble No More
2. Don't Keep Me Wonderin
3. Black Hearted Woman
4. Leave My Blues At home
5. Stormy Monday
6. In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
7. Mountain Jam (2 partial recording?)
8. Whipping Post
Note: Tape speed is too fast, especially track 7
7/19/'70 Love Valley Festival, Love Valley, NC 1CD : remastered by me
1. Trouble No More
2. Don't Keep Me Wonderin'
3. Black Hearted Woman
4. Leave My Blues At home
5. Stormy Monday
6. In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
7. Mountain Jam (1)
8. Mountain Jam (2)
9. Whipping Post
Note: Correcting tape speed and remastered from original 1CD version.

Thanks Masahiko, i knew you'd be a good source of knowledge on this
Does the Whiippin Post on your remastered edition of 7-19-70 have the fade out/missing sound in the middle of it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
Okay - I have another copy of 7-19-70 which goes like this
1. Statesboro Blues
2. Trouble No more
3. Don't Keep Me Wonderin
4. Dreams
5. Leave My Blues at Home
6. Whippin post ( Source for the love Valley DVD)
Disk 2
1. Mountain Jam - Love Valley DVD version
2. Oh Pretty woman
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------
Interesting that there's a Statesboro on there too! Sounds as if it is from the same source.
