Not going to start a rant here about the cancelled/pending reschedule shows. Gregg's health is more important than pushing the envelope with bronchitis, that **** can turn into pneumonia very easily. Gregg also has an aggressive tour schedule with overseas travel and he needs to be in top condition. Not too mention he is working on his movie and whatever else he has going on.

Frankly, I think he just take some time off during the summer and tear up some highway on his Harley. Best therapy in the world. After all these years of summer touring, he should say **** it and enjoy a summer doing whatever he damn well pleases to do.

All that said, out of respect for the dedicated fans the rescheduling of the Beacon shows should be addressed sooner than later. Some folks compared this situation to the Rolling Stones dates that were postponed. The Beacon situation is different, for 25 years a legion of dedicated fans have supported the Beacon Run and go to considerable lengths in doing so. It is a little more personal and family like. Being this could be the last Beacon Run as we know them, emotions are running high with a lot of people.

After the announcements of Derek and Warren, the secondary ticket market basically commandeered the supply of tickets. They even managed to take control over the majority of tickets during the second presale. Lana set up triple layer controls to ensure only Peach Corps members had access to the tickets, but to no avail.

Scores of members could not even purchase a single presale ticket, yet Stubhub was posting tickets earmarked for Peach Corps members DURING THE PRESALE and at an enormous mark up. I am no slouch with a computer and know how to buy tickets during a presale, yet I could only manage to buy one pair of tickets 45 minutes into the presale. WTF was all I had to say after I saw hundreds of tickets for sale on stubhub.

After the dust settled from the presale shenanigans, many people on this forum sold extra tickets to those without and I think most people were able to get a seat for at least one show. Good stuff there, people pulling together and supporting their brothers and sisters.

Finally, the Beacon Run kicked off and things were going good. There was so much talk about what the shows on 3/26/14 and 3/29/14 would be like. Spirits were high. After Gregg caught bronchitis and the shows were cancelled, I think everybody took the announcement in stride because we all worry about Gregg and it is the respectful thing to do.

Now that everybody has had a chance to regroup and look at calendars, it is time to reciprocate the respect and either cancel the shows or reschedule them.

This was the first year for me to attend the Beacon run and the only night I had tickets on was 3/26/14. My thoughts were at first bitter sweet, but as the date drew closer, sweet took over. It was like the anticipation of Christmas morning, but with the songs I was hoping to hear as the gifts... Jessica, Whipping Post, Hot'Lanta, Aint Wasting No More Time, Franklin's Tower, No One to Run With...? Personally, I want to see the shows rescheduled and experience the Beacon magic I have heard so much about.

Respects.

Well what Gregg damn well pleases to do to do is to be out touring this summer so.

The dates are coming shortly.

Because they will be communicating today and tomorrow as they are together. Gregg does not like to sit still he will be playing until he is unable just like B.B. King.

And that's a bad thing. I would not pay a dime to see BB in his present state

B.B. is a Blues icon for the ages and that is undeniable.

That said, he is awful live in recent years, IMO. First of he doesn't play much and has a big band fill the room with music. Second, he talks for 1/2 the show with a canned dialogue.

That's not how I want to remember the man and I am completely done. Sadly, Buddy Guy is doing the same thing.

I also believe Bob Dylan has 'white line fever' from being on the road so long. I love his music more than any and I can barely watch clips of him.

Go spend time with your grandkids and all the relationships you neglected over the last 70 years. I understand the call of the muse but it has gotten absurd for some.

B.B. King Apologizes For St. Louis Concert Gone Bad

Posted: 04/16/2014 12:39 pm EDT

ST. LOUIS (AP) Blues guitarist B.B. King wants his St. Louis fans to give him another chance after an erratic performance led to a stream of audience catcalls and early departures.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer issued a public apology on Tuesday for what his publicists called "a bad night for one of America's living blues legends."

all of the musicians in the band are excellent and I encourage you to savor all of them
Dickey will play notes that will really move you
pay attention to Duane Betts, you will be pleasantly surprised
Above all enjoy the moment at the time the music is being played, don't let other thoughts get in the way

Hi Lovelight and Phillybob!
Thanks you much for the feedback. I watched some recent youtube videos of his performances and the sound was really good. Being this is a stop "home" in Macon, I imagine he will put on a great show. The venue sounds like it is up close and personal, so I am really looking forward to this event, especially after the Beacon let down. Had tickets for 3/26.

Say what you will about her but Miley Cyrus was able to reschedule her 7 cancelled shows due to illness within a weeks time.
Rolling Stones cancellations in Australia are already rescheduled.
We are embracing a month without a single morsel of feedback from ABB management... Maybe they should hire Miley's manager... They should stay far away from her costume designer though.

My wild guess at this point is they are not allowed to announce the dates until after the august peach fest. You would think they would give some type of communication going on a month now.

Based on the Wanee recordings, they are in fine form. "All good things come to those who wait" - hopefully.

Based on Gregg canceling his solo tour I'd guess at this point the rescheduled Beacon dates may be at the end of the year. Although at this rate maybe the ABB can open for Govt Mule NYE

Maybe others are thinking the same, and possibly even posted as such, but to me, this is starting to look like a Beacon run in 2015. I can see a scenario where all of the 'postponed' shows are replayed in March 2015 and the band adds 4, 6, or 8 more shows to end the Warren / Derek era at the Beacon, as it should be.

Warren / Derek leaving at the end of March versus the end of December is only a small adjustment in the grand scheme and the financial success of one more Beacon run is likely too great to fore-go in my opinion....

I don't see that happening . they where pulling teeth to keep warren and Derek around for the festivals and the shows in October so a 2015 beacon run I don't see happening . unless its with different guitar players . also how good would those shows be it would be your basic tunes like putting robots up there I don't see any energy on that stage if they do it . one other thing how is Gregg allman band asking more money for tickets to his show then the allman brothers ask for there shows that seems a little odd .

Personally I could care less. I don't want my money back. I want shows. Not sure about next year. Rumour has it the Dead will be doing something in 2015 to celebrate their 50th and Warren will be part of that.
