That's right..........now in a State where marijuana use is outright legal. The idiocy continues......

Not just on this issue, but on other issues too, when the states try to make their own laws, the feds bust them harder. This is Sovietski shenanigans, welcome to the USSA.

Federal law trumps state law every time (see Civil War). If it is illegal in the United States, it's illegal in every state in the United States. It will have to be decrininalized at teh federal level, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Yeah I know Doug, but that doesn't make the whole thing any less idiotic than it is. And where is our President in all this? When he first took office he told the DEA to stop harassing dispensaries in medical marijuana States. Now they're harassing dispensaries in States where it's outright LEGAL!

But that's not what really pisses me off. I've WATCHED kids come into an Intensive Care Unit with body temps of 107 and 108. Do you know what that does to a person? It FRIES their internal organs, that's what it does. And it was all from Ecstasy. When is the last time you saw a Federal pamphlet, TV ad, or newspaper write-up warning about the horrors of Ecstasy use? Doesn't SOMEONE at the DEA know that Ecstasy, Meth, Crack and Heroin can KILL people? All four of those drugs are not only illegal at the Federal level, NONE of them are legal in any State. That is where they should be spending their time and resources, and THAT's what really irks me to no end.

I find it deplorable that our current occupant of the White House, while condemning the disproportionate rate of black incarceration (and rightly so), continues to ignore and prove himself spineless with regard to outdated drug laws that are a big reason why the black incarceration rates are so disproportionate. His supporters in the black community should be raising this issue with him at every opportunity afforded them. He's great at bringing such things up in a lofty speech, but useless when it comes to implementing any change in the policies that actually cause the problem.

Perhaps the saddest part in this continuing war is that President Obama has very little political risk in simply requiring the DEA to reschedule marijuana to a more appropriate designation. To that of alcohol and tobacco. At the same time, twist some arms in Congress for actual legislation to support an executive order. This one issue could regain what little momentum he has left for the remainder of his second term.
