I miss hockey.

Was watching some clips on youtube. What started the big fight between the bruins and the fans in the one game? I am assuming this was back in 70's or early 80's.

Uh oh -- ya got me started ABBcujo
(haha)
that was one of the wildest ones ever, even for Bruins-Rangiz -- a fan took a swing at a Bruins player with a stick after the game ended, then the Bruins went into the stands after him -- that was something, w/the cops, Harry Sinden there trying to break it up

that game ended with Gerry Cheevers stoning Phil Esposito on a clean breakin, right at the final buzzer -- so it's late 70s

Cool, thanks Stephen.

I have tickets to a few AHL and ECHL hockey games this year. Should be fun. Looking forward to seeing some hockey since the NHL bastards are too greedy. I doubt there will be any hockey this year for them.

Toronto Maple Leafs Worth $1B

NEW YORK -- The Toronto Maple Leafs are the first NHL team worth $1 billion, according to Forbes magazine.

The Leafs, who have not won a Stanley Cup since 1967, are worth $250 million more than the next most valuable franchise, the New York Rangers. The Montreal Canadiens are worth $575 million.

Yeah it doesn't look too promising, ABBcujo -- hey ya been to any AHL or ECHL games? I'd like to check out a Manchester Monarchs game sometime.

We have an AHL (highest minor league I think) team here in Chicago so at least there is something. An affiliate of the Canucks, sometimes they are on local TV which is cool.

I just can't believe how often the NHL has labor problems.

I tried doing that with Gerry Cheevers' new book, but couldn't -- just tried cutting & pasting it etc (from the website) -- it's actually a pretty cool cover -- "Unmasked"

There is also a Jeremy Roenik book just released for xmas. Looks like a good read as well.

I read somwhere that there is a chapter dedicated to the 5 guys he hated the most in the NHL.

Gotta to say again the Derek Sanderson book is a classic. Just reading about his childhood had me howling. He was a **** disturber from birth.

Buy it.

67s! And they are playing in the sens building so no hockey missed in the building anyway. Love taking the boy to a game and not spending a fortune. Good hockey too although the 67s themselves having a bad year so far.

Got Unmasked, Gerry Cheevers new book, in the mail
Blew through it basically in one read, pretty straightforward stuff & not a bad read -- best parts are the WHA days, & coaching the Bruins -- not enough about the Big Bad Bruins days but that's just me

First thing I noticed, literally, pulling it out of the box -- the team photo on the back cover -- it said "1971-72 Stanley Cup champions" -- it's not, but that's OK -- you still rock, Cheesie (photo is 1969-70 team) -- also Cheesie misspells the Dominator's last name ("Hassek") -- good read for B's fans tho

C'mahn ya knuckleheads, people wanna see the games, either pull something together or go piss in the pot for gosh sakes -- NHL doesn't deserve its fans' loyalty...

Anyone starting to get the feeling there will be no NHL hockey this year. What a bunch of **** s they are to lose two full seasons in such a short period. That has to be a record.

Looks like Gary and his co-horts have finally started to see the effects of the lockout and have realized that maybe squabbling ain't doing anyone any good. Weird???

I think the deal is done in the next week. Play starts in 2-3 weeks.

Hate to say I will be watching but I probably will be as there will be nothing else to watch. One thing I won't be doing is buying NHL gear for a long while.

I'm not too excited about the return as not seeing the leafs lose 2-3 times a week was great for my oveall mood.

I bought my 55" TV for the Cup Finals last year.

Football and SU basketball are ok, but not having televised pucks means the big screen only gets used a couple times a week and on Sunday nights for the Walking Dead.

Canada over the US at the World Juniors. Subban played awesome in goal. Next uo - the Russians. Their goalie is like a wall also. Has only let in 3 goals so far. One positive is that the Sabres drafted him last year.

Those "dirty" canadians blow through the Russian team. Without Russia's goalie it would have been a complete blowout.

The Lightning could use a goalie. Then all those goals Stamkos makes would count.
