SAY WHAT ? I think i just hit enliightenment. Thanks gina! You rock.

Let's just give you the benefit of the doubt and say Eden was in Austria, and it was the Neanderthals that polluted Africa. This still means you have African ancestors. At some point, we all merged. There are white skinned blue eyed tribes in the Northern Sahara.

What a Leftist viewpoint. Hey, we were all Neanderthals once as well....

That is not a left nor right viewpoint.

That is science.

We all share the same mitochondria DNA that was also found in the earliest human remains
from Africa.

Used in the above mentioned context, it sure as sh*t is...

I see no political context at all. Just the science.
(not counting your slamming the left)

your mileage may vary

Sorry Bigdave, I acknowledge my fault in this. For the record, yes, Obama is a racist. And, I will be voting 3rd party.

Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

Because I was reading between the lines, and I could see a big fat racist rat running around behind the walls, with my xray specs you understand, and it pissed me off. "Ivory skin," my a$$.

At least it came out into full view for a second. I can smell it here sometimes, and I don't support it. At all. For the record.

Despite all the legitimate causes for complaints of "reverse racism," all too often it is just an outlet for barely concealed racism.

As far as the original question, if anything, Obama is against blacks, as he certainly supports the status quo that continues to cripple them.
Maybe that is why he needs to make a big show of supporting them.

My ancestors were never from there. My ivory skin, blond hair and intolerance of summer heat are proof of that, I'm sure DNA would verify that my ancestors were from the Northland. Even my great great granparents were from Northern Europe, Austria and and further back Scotland in the 1700's. I don't think they ever were further south than Lebanon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

So, are you saying humans do NOT share a common ancestry ?

What a Leftist viewpoint. Hey, we were all Neanderthals once as well....

So, let me get this straight. It is leftist to take seriously the evidence that humans emerged out of Africa, and right-wing to think that humans were Neanderthals.

I suppose it is possible there were two separate lines, that merged. The verdict is certainly still out on that. If there were two different lines, it doesn't matter here, since we all have both by now. Common ancestry.

My point with the "We were all Africans," (which was a joke) is that we all have common ancestry, which would hold whether or not you are a left wing trog from Africa, or Fred Flintstone, or Raquel Welch from a million BC.

Remember, way back when, there was no Africa, or Europe.

If someone was still Pure Aryan Neanderthal, they would look pretty funny. The only living examples I have seen are Jorma Kaukonen and my gym teacher in Junior High.

Jorma is actually half jewish; half Scandanaviam. Must have been tough with his dad sending him out to ski and his mother following to make sure he had his gloves on right

I'll admit, no I was not inclined to vote for Obama even before I saw this. If I was, this would not have changed my mind because in the larger scope of things it's not that big a deal. But to be fair I should also say I am not planning to vote for any of the Republican candidates either. They are all the same to me. I'll be voting 3rd party. ....
Bob, what are your thoughts on Gary Johnson?

Dave, I have done 3 things this year that I have never done before in my life:

1) I joined a political party (Libertarian)
2) I changed my voter registration from "unafilliated" to "Libertarian"
3) I sent a contribution to a political campaign (Gary Johnson).

Even if Johnson is not the Libertarian candidate I will be voting Libertarian. My reasoning is this: First of all, I am fully aware that a 3rd party candidate will not win this election, but it matters little to me whether Obama or one of the GOP candidates win, so I consider voting for one of them over the other a waste of my vote. I am voting for change. I consider my vote to be a long-term investment. By contributing to and voting for the strongest of the 3rd parties I am hoping to send a signal that I no longer want business as usual. I'm hoping enough people will join me in this line of thinking until someone in a major party (either one, I don't care) gets the message. Or, enough people decide to vote for change that eventually a 3rd party gains enough strength to be a factor. That won't be this year, but it has to start somewhere. Some people think voting for 3rd party is wasting a vote. I think voting Rep or Dem is wasting a vote.

So, what do I think of Gary Johnson? I think he is the strongest candidate in the strongest 3rd party. He has my support.

I live in CT a completely blue state. Regardless of how I vote, Obama will get the full slate of CT's electoral votes...whether I support him or not. I believe we need a viable third party and therefore I have, and will continue to vote for a 3rd party.

If I thought our state's electoral votes were up for grabs as they are in other states, I would likely pick the candidate I felt was the lesser of two evils.

As George Carlin said, "I don't vote, I don't want to encourage them."

I was about to bag voting altogether, started that thread about it, then got the suggestion from BigDave about third party voting. I had been brainwashed that I never considered third party voting as anything but a total waste of votes.

Finally reasoned that, if it has got to the point where any vote is a wasted vote, you might as well waste it on someone you respect. That way at least you won't get that soiled feeling after you leave the voting booth, when you just voted for someone you have zero regard for. I won't do that again, and so what if some total monster wins because I wasted my vote.

if Americans stop being such chickensh*ts and vote their conscience, maybe this d*mn two party system will fold.

I'm going third party because I am tired of voting AGAINST a candidate rather than voting FOR one. Gary Johnson wants to restore sanity to federal government and I'm all for that, too. 14 trillion dollar deficits, more military actions than I care to count, politicians representing their party interests instead of their constituent's interests. I'm damn sick of it!

Jerry Garcia said when you vote for the lesser of two evils, you're still voting for evil. I'd rather vote my conscience.

The two party system is elaborate Play, put on by the 1% to make you think you actually have a choice. The 1% own both parties using their corporate PAC money.

The PAC lawyers write the laws to give to their Lackey congressmen to introduce.

You might as well not play their game and vote for a third Party.

Our only hope for democracy is to overturn Corporate citizenship with a constitutional amendment
