AFGHANISTAN

Prince Harry plans to return to Afghanistan, this time flying an Apache Gunship in Helmand provence.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/9072102/Prince-Harry- in-Afghanistan-use-Royal-role-to-help-people-not-kill-say-Taliban.html

The Prince will fly missions from Camp Bastion in Helmand as a co-pilot gunner in a two-man crew, operating weapons which include Hellfire missiles and a 30mm chain gun.

"A prince should use his position to help people, not to come and kill people around the world,” said Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the militants. Mr Mujahid told The Daily Telegraph: “In the past we have defended against the invaders and we will do so in the future.

"We will continue to defend against all the invaders, but we will use all our power to kill or capture the Prince. We will use all our power against the British because they are the second biggest member of the coalition.” However, he claimed if the Prince was captured he would be treated like any other prisoner.

PAKISTAN

Two aid workers,an Italian and a German, who were kidnapped in Multan, Pakistan in January are being held by The Pakistani Taliban. Demands have not been issued yet, but they do report the men are in good health.

PALESTINE

Ismaill Haniyeh says that Hamas will never recognize Israel, and they reinterate support to Iran and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying that

"The Iranian people are a partner in this victory," Haniya said. "God willing, we will met you along with other Palestinians in a free Palestine, in its capital Al-Quds," he said. (Al Quds is Jerusalem). Israel rejects efforts by Hamas to link up with Fatah, the secular faction of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas that runs the West Bank, to form a unity government. It views Hamas as a terrorist organisation and Iran as its sponsor and weapon supplier.

IRAN

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran will announce achievements in it's nuclear energy field in the coming days, but reiterates it is only for peaceful purposes.

SYRIA:

TURKEY

Has reiterated it's support for Syria and will fight against any NATO actions taken against Syria. Ersat Hurmuzlu a senior adviser to Turkish President Abdullah Gul, told Asharq Al-Awsat that his country will immediately begin broad consultations. He pointed out that "solutions in Syria must be decided by the Syrian people, and the road map for this solution must be decided by the Syrian people." He criticized the Chinese and Russian use of veto at the UN Security Council, which has increased violence in Syria.

REMARK: This means they do not want a US led, sponsored or implemented govt. to assume power if Assad is removed from power. They want the Syrian people to decide and they don't seem to think this is what happened in the other places we have helped implement regime change (ie. Libya, Egypt).

Hurmuzlu told Asharq Al-Awsat, "We will immediately hold consultations with the Arab League and the GCC states. Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu will travel to Washington for talks with US officials to exchange views over the Syrian crisis." He added that, "We cannot remain silent about the bloodshed just because there is what is called veto at the UN Security Council."

Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu's visit to Washington was decided a month ago. He noted that Davutoglu, who will spend approximately one week in Washington, has an agenda full of meetings and discussions with US officials. He pointed out that his visit will deal with several dossiers, not only the Syrian issue, and that his agenda has other important issues to be discussed, such as the Iranian nuclear program and terrorism.

http://www.asharq-e.com/news.asp?section=1&id=28420

Bin Helli revealed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is in constant contact with Arab League chief Nabil Elaraby, and that he was in contact with Elaraby both prior to his recent visit to Damascus to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and following this meeting.

Russia and China are also in consulation with the Arab League on the Syrian situation. hey vetoed a Un resolution related to Syria. Saudi Arabia voiced their discontent over Russia and China's veto.

http://www.asharq-e.com/news.asp?section=1&id=28435

There is a meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers that is scheduled to take place on Sunday.(2/12/12)

REMARKS: The situation with Syria will not be limited to just the US and allied NATO forces. Russia and China are involved with this also and they do not support the US doing a no fly zone as we did in Libya. (yes there are other sources for info. but Al Sharq did a good job covering these things, so that is why I am using their links).

Expanded coverage Syria

Yesterday Friday, 2.10.11 there were twin car explosions in Aleppo, now believed to have been carried out by Al Qaida fighters, who were sent to Syria from Iraq near the end of December, when they carried out two other blasts, December 23 and January 6, under the authorization of Ayman Al Zawahiri. The suicide bomb cars targeted a police station and an intelligence base. 28 Dead and 235 wounded.

Hwever, the Free Syrian Army claims responsibility for the bombings. (maybe they are getting a little help!)

Iraqi official says Kalishnakovs are going from Baghdad to Nineveh province. “The weapons are being smuggled from Mosul through the Rabia crossing to Syria, as members of the same families live on both sides of the border,” he said. And “there is some smuggling through a crossing near Abu Kamal,” he said, referring to a Syrian city. He said that the price of a Kalashnikov assault rifle has risen from between $100 and $200 to between $1000 and $1500.

As to is it that bad over there, yes it is. This is from Thursday 2.9.12 Britain will send body armour to the rebel soldiers. Assad is reportedly considering using chemical weapons on those in opposition to his regime. Graphic photos.

Today an army General was assassinated in Syria.

http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/02/11/193982.html

SANA said three gunmen opened fire at Brig. Gen. Issa al-Khouli in the morning as he left his home in the Damascus neighborhood of Rukn-Eddine. Al-Khouli was a doctor and the chief of a military hospital in the capital. No one claimed responsibility for the killing.

This is a good article showing the parallels between what went on in the 1980's with Lebanon and how today's conflicts in Syria could effect the country again.

SYRIA - Many still support the old Assad Regime

Part of the problem with the news coming out of Syria is that journalists are not very welcome to be there to cover what is going on, unles the govt. knows who they are and where they want to go. They do not have free movement without letting officials know where they are going. That is difficult during a war.

In addition, there are loyalists to President Assad. Here is one journalists story on his difficulty getting into the country.

http://gulfnews.com/news/region/syria/old-city-folks-still-back-syria-s-al- assad-1.979179

From Beirut, the road to Damascus undergoes a dramatic conversion. It snakes over the snow-capped mountains that separate the Paris of the Mediterranean from the Levant. Then it drops dramatically through the Beka'a Valley, and up.

On the Lebanese side of the frontier at Masnaa, immigration exit procedures are a casual affair. An inspector chats of days spent in Montreal, reminiscing on the large Lebanese community there.
"Be careful," he warns. "The Syrians are not in a forgiving mood right now and they don't look too kindly on foreign journalists now."

I hold two passports of different nationalities and am trying to convince him to place a Lebanese exit stamp in the one that doesn't state my occupation. He's not buying it. According to the rules, the exit has to be placed on the one I entered Lebanon on. In Dubai, days earlier, visa papers were stalled. In Abu Dhabi, the Ambassador expelled, and the road to Damascus was going to be arduous.

Beyond Masnaa, Syrian officials sipped tea. Few were crossing into their land, and those that were were scrutinised carefully.

Fee paid to one bored official, I pass to a second officer for the all-important entry visa. He flips through my passport, looking for signs of Israeli entry in the "clean" the second passport with no exit visa and no occupation. "Where is the exit visa from Lebanon?" he asks.

A wonderful thing

Sheepishly, I produce the main tell-tale passport, waiting at any moment to be turned back to Beirut.

An Emirates airline rugby shirt is a wonderful thing, as good as a third passport.

"Ever been to Israel?" he asks.

"No," I reply.

"You travel a lot," he says, skimming through my pages, not yet coming to two UAE visa pages where my occupation as a journalist is clearly mentioned.

He sees my rugby shirt.

"Your work for Emirates?" he asks.

"I work in the Emirates," I answer, hoping that half a truth will bluff me through.

"In Dubai?" he asks.

"Yes," I answer, noticing that he has flicked past the red-flag page.

"Business or tourism?" he enquires.

"Yes," I answer, offering up another half truth.

He begins to write on a blank page. With two stamps, I have been admitted.

At two further checkpoints, soldiers and officers seek my passport. I am careful to have it already opened to the Syrian visa stamps, lest they notice those two journalist visa stamps.

Proclaiming the virtues

Overhead banners and roadside billboards proclaim the virtues of the Al Assad dynasty. Hafez and Bashar Al Assad are pictured everywhere, father and son, together, making Syria strong and proud.

Trucks carrying old Soviet-era tanks labour up the mountain road from Damascus, being deployed to quell unrest in this strong Syria.

In 11 months, more than 5,000 people have been killed in protests and bitter fighting as this country of the Al Assads tethers on the verge of civil war.

At government buildings and at strategic corners, or in places considered to be vulnerable to attack, soldiers cradle old Kalashnikovs.

The old models with the wooden stocks borne by most soldiers do not, somehow, feel as intimidating as the new models with folding metal stocks brandished by men in dark clothes and mostly leather jackets.

It is they who are doing the searching of cars and questioning of drivers and passengers, all ordered out, the threats from the Kalashnikovs with the folded metal stocks enough to persuade all for the need for cooperation.

In Damascus itself, posters of the President hang in most shopfronts, on street corners, anywhere where there is space to spare.

For a city where traffic is chaotic, there is an over-abundance of traffic police. At every major corner, at every busy section, they stand with white flat hats, black faux-leather jackets and whistles ever at the ready.

Few motorists or pedestrians, it seems, take notice of the whistles. This over-abundance of traffic officers is part of the strong Syria of the Al Assad dynasty.

‘Root them out'

"These people trying to destroy our country are terrorists, a guide called Bashir — no relation to the President — says.

"We support our president. These people are terrorists and Al Qaida. We have to root them out and destroy them before they destroy Syria."

"Since this trouble started, they have destroyed our economy," he says. "There are no tourists anymore."

PALESTINE 2.12.12

http://www.middleeastmonitor.org.uk/news/middle-east/3412-likud-members-cal l-for-qthe-templeq-to-be-built-on-qthe-ruinsq-of-al-aqsa-mosque

Jerusalem-based organisation has uncovered a plan by Jewish groups to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque as a prelude to building "the Temple" on the mosque's ruins.

In a press statement, Al-Aqsa Endowments and Heritage Foundation said that members of Israel's ruling Likud Party claim that this will take place on Sunday 12 February. Right-wing Hebrew internet sites have called for thousands to take part alongside a delegation from Likud led by Moshe Feiglin.

Al-Aqsa Foundation said that the organisers are calling on "everyone to ascend the Temple Mount for the announcement by a sound leadership confirming total control over the mountain in order to cleanse the site of the enemies of Israel; the thieves of the land, and to construct the Temple on the ruins of the mosque."

The Foundation issued warnings over the "feverish" Israeli calls to storm the mosque, saying that they "reflect the premeditated intentions of the Israeli occupation authorities towards Al-Aqsa Mosque". This, a spokeman added, requires the Arab and Muslim world to "assume their responsibilities in the face of Israeli arrogance".

REMARKS: Demolishing the masjid (the word mosque means whiskey house, masjids are places of prayer for people of the Muslim faith) al Aqsa will be an act of war to millions of Muslims.

AFGHANISTAN

An official Taliban spokesman did an interview with CNN 2.14.12 to explain their position regarding the ongoing war and the proposed office in Qatar.

Rabi-ul-Awal 22, 1433 A.H, Wednesday, February 15, 2012

In the name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful,
the interview of Zabihullah Mujahid done with CNN news network on the 14/02/2012 where a range of questions regarding the current ongoing situation and political issues are answered.

“All of our decisions are based on Islamic principles while giving consideration to our national interests”

Q. Is it possible for the Taliban to renounce international terrorism in one of its written statements as per the American demand?

A. All praise is due to Allah and may his peace and blessings be upon his chosen servant.

To proceed, I must first and foremost say that we do not work according to the guidelines of America or any other country but all of our decisions are based on Islamic principles while giving consideration to our national interests however based on mutual respect, we do believe in reaching an understanding with all the countries of the world.

Now, regarding the issue of terrorism:

If America and its allies consider the current Jihad and struggle in Afghanistan against the eradication of the occupation and its continuation until all foreign troops leave and an Islamic government is established as terrorism, then we cannot shun this as it would be an un-Islamic act because we consider this Jihad and struggle as our Islamic obligation, the shunning of which is not possible in any circumstance. However, as we continue with this obligation (Jihad and struggle) we are religiously held responsible in preventing civilian casualties.

Q. Do you have delegates based in Qatar at the moment who are engaged in talks with America? If you don’t, do you have plans to send delegations in the near future?

A. A representative of Islamic Emirate has held meetings with American delegates in Qatar regarding confidence building measures. As for when we will send or not send delegations to Qatar, then it all depends on when we reach the negotiation stage. Up until now, this has not officially occurred and naturally, as we reach the negotiation stage, a delegation or a team of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will be chosen and sent to Qatar.

Q. Have you yet been asked to meet with the Karzai administration in Saudi Arabia? If not, will you accept to meet with them in Saudi Arabia if requested?

A. Before I answer your question I firstly must say that in order to reach an understanding with America, Qatar was chosen as an intermediary nation by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. This was our own choice and not on due part to the behest or pressure of another nation, a selection which America also accepted.

In regards to Saudi Arabia, no one has put forward such a request to us and even if such a thing was requested, our answer will be that the government of Karzai is not independent and meeting with it will not benefit in any way in solving the problem.

Q. Do you believe that the active lower level Taliban will accept you accord if you were to reach a positive outcome with America in Qatar?

A. In our system, no consideration is given to the issue of high rank or low rank but rather the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan works as a cohesive administration. All of its offices, its officials and members work for a mutual goal under the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful. [Mullah Omar] The current talks or future negotiations all take place with the permission and guidance of the Amir [Mullah Omar] and all agreements which all done with the consent of the Amir in the light of Islamic principles and national interests are happily accepted by all and they who work earnestly to implement them.

Q. Do you think talking with the Karzai administration will be beneficial or do you want to directly talk with the Americans?

A. I must say that Karzai, Kabul administration, Afghans and the Americans or Washington is not concerned here as some people say, as a form of protest, that the Taliban only want to talk with the Americans instead of their own Afghans. In reality, the concern is of one exercising power and one with no power. It is well known to the Afghan people as well as the world that the real power holder fighting the Mujahideen in Afghanistan is America. It has used Karzai and his administration as an instrument to maintain its grip and continue its occupation.

Q. If those Taliban that are being held in Guantanamo are not released, will your negotiations with the Americans still continue?

A. Negotiations have not yet began with the Americans so talking about it continuing does not mean much. Now the question is, when will negotiations begin? I must say that before any negotiations can take place, confidence building measures must first succeed so an atmosphere can be created for negotiations and this confidence building measure rests entirely with the Americans and they must take steps for it which are; exchange of Guantanamo prisoners, the opening of a political office and the termination of the black list of the United Nations as well as the bounty lists of America and her allies.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Remarks: They explain that they have to fight the US because foreign forces are there fighting them. These foreign forces want to institue un-Islamic secular law in their country, so they are compelled to continue their jihad, as a religious duty.

"Confidence building measures" are clearly spelled out, release the specified prisoners from Gitmo. There are 179 who were cleared for release that are still there because no country has accepted to repatriate them and the US will not release them back to Afghanistan.

Secondly, set up the office in Qatar for them.

Thirdly, remove them from the Blacklist. They have not done anything other than defend temselves from attacks launched on their own country. The only support they provided to Al Qaida was to let their fighters fight along with them and after Tora Bora, the Al Qaida contingent went to Pakistan anyway.

There are 30 men languishing in Gitmo who went over the border at Parachinar who are being accused of having been with Osama and his fighters during the seize at Tora Bora. It was Osama's enclave, not the Taliban's. The Taliban did not even give Osama that land, an Arab from the Soviet Days gave him the land as a base for his men. Mullah Omar knew he was there, but that is the extent of any support he provided to them.

The DOD wants to maintain that there was this intimate liason between the Taliban and Al Qaida, but Omar has refuted that over and over again, saying his struggle is one of national sovereignty, all he is concerned about is preserving Aghanistan's borders and soil for native Afghans. He has chastised Al Qaida factions on more than one occasion when they have done things he felt were in opposition to Islam (ie. using children for suicide missions). Al Qaida wants to bring as many people to Islam as possible, they are fighting a worldwide jihad leading up to the battle for Jerusalem. The are doing it now, other groups have not joined that fight yet.

The Afghans have a role to play in that per prophecy, but they are not pushing that right now the way Al Qaida is. Al Qaida has been laying the groundwork. When the anti-Christ rises, all the Muslims will unite under one banner, that is the concept Al Qaida has been trying to initiate. The Afghans will stay in their country till THAT war comes to them, then they will fight, if Jesus comes there, they will join him and help him lead his jihad towards ousting the anti-Christ from Jerusalem where he will be ruling the world from. (the Biblical and Islamic prophecies are in agreement that Jesus will be leading the final jihad, well who do you think will be with him?).

There will be a section of the Taliban who go with Jesus to fight the anti-Christ. Jesus's army will not be big, there will only be about 800 fighters with him when he heads out from Syria towards that Armageddon battle in the Megiddo plain. (this is prophecied from 1300 years ago). The NWO will launch 80,000 troops against him, because they will have been deceived and not know that he is the real Messiah.

Nobody seems to comprehend this yet, but that is what it is all about.

Just Another Day in the Promised Land:

http://english.pnn.ps/index.php/national/847-teen-from-qattana-israeli-sold iers-break-his-legs-force-him-to-walk

Defense for Children International has documented the arrest by Israeli soldiers of 16 year-old Mahmoud Omar Faqeh from Qattana village northwest of Jerusalem. Defense for Children International revealed that the Israelis were in direct violation of many international standards for the treatment of children during arrests.

As the teen explained to Defense for Children International, Mahmoud was going with his friends to a place near the Apartheid Wall in Beit Sourek village when they were attacked by Israeli soldiers.

"One of the Israeli soldiers fired a rubber bullet at my leg, and then another Israeli soldier caught me and two of my friends. As soon as they arrested me, they forced me to get down and face the ground. They handcuffed me with a plastic tie. They started to severely beat me on my body and my legs with their feet and the black sticks that they were holding," said Mahmoud. "I was screaming from the pain they caused me. Though I was shouting 'my legs are broken,' they continued to beat me for almost 15 minutes."

"After that, the soldiers took me off the ground and arrested me. Because I couldn't walk on my legs, the soldiers started to beat me again and asked me to stand up, but I couldn't from the pain. They lifted me and forced me to walk, so I walked a little bit and I fell. Then two soldiers held me by my shoulders and dragged me until we reached the Apartheid Wall. They put me on Ma'bad Street near the wall, and they started to beat me again until a military vehicle came and took me to the nearest military checkpoints. I think it was Beit Eksa checkpoint, but, because the soldiers blindfolded my eyes with the woolen hat I was wearing, I couldn't see anything."

The teenager was detained at the checkpoint for almost half an hour and was forced to sit blindfolded in the rain on the cement, with his hands cuffed behind his back suffering from leg pain. Mahmoud said, "The soldiers transferred me from Beit Aksa checkpoint to a place – I caught its name during the investigation – it was Atarot Military Prison. They made me sit on the cement and I couldn't raise my head, because whenever I did a soldier yelled at me, and that was very painful."

At mid-night, the soldiers interrogated the teen and he was asked about his reasons for walking near the Apartheid Wall. The interrogator said that the teen was throwing stones at the soldiers and distracted them from doing their jobs, but Mahmoud denied it.

When Mahmoud told the interrogator that his legs were hurt, he was told that the soldiers would take him to a doctor who would wrap some gauze around legs and then he would be taken to prison.

After one hour, the interrogation ended and Mahmoud was transferred to Ofer Military Prison near Ramallah. There, the doctor refused to touch him or give him treatment, so the soldiers took him to Hadassa Hospital in Jerusalem, after they covered his eyes with an unused plastic garbage bag.

"When I reached Ofer, the soldiers dragged me to the prison's clinic, and I was suffering from the pain, I asked them to stop, but one of the soldiers said in Arabic, "Shut up or we will put you with the dogs."

The teen reached Hadassa Hospital the morning following his arrest. Since his arrest, Mahmoud hadn't eaten or used the bathroom.

Mahmoud said, "In the hospital, two soldiers from the Border Guard accompanied me; they were dragging me. I was asked to take some tests, and then a doctor came to check on my legs and asked for an x-ray. It showed that I have two fractures in my right leg, and the doctors wrapped it in the cast and put me on one of the beds in the hospital. Whenever I tried to sleep, one of the soldiers beat me and the other one said that am going to die here, or I am going to the prison, in addition to other curses from both of them."

The next day in the hospital, the doctors put a cast on his left leg, because they discovered that it, too, was broken. At that point, Mahmoud ate his first meal and used the bathroom, with the help of a nurse.

The following afternoon, Mahmoud was transferred to Ofer prison accompanied by three soldiers, including one female soldier, who beat Mahmoud before summoning him to the prison's administration. They also forced him to walk for 30 meters, though the soldiers were aware of the doctors' recommendations that Mahmoud not walk for at least 12 hours until the cast dries.

Mahmoud said, "One of the soldiers beat me on my chest with his vest, and it was strong, while the female soldier pulled my hair and forced me to walk on my legs."
Mahmoud stayed at Ashbal section in Ofer Prison for 16 days where he was tortured by the Israeli soldiers. During the 16 days, he appeared five times before the court, moving in a wheelchair. At the fifth session, he was released on a 1000 NIS bond until the date of his next court summons.

Remarks: This is how it is now, how much worse it will be when the anti-Christ is at the seat of the world government in Jerusalem.

IRAN and SYRIA 2.17.12

Iran has sent some warships to the Syrian Coast, but they maintain they have done so as a show of peaceful support for Syria. They also point out that Iran’s navy has been boosting its presence in international waters since last year, deploying vessels to the Indian Ocean and Gulf of Aden on missions to protect Iranian ships from Somali pirates. They are not trying to start anything.

DAMASCUS, Feb 17, 2012 (AFP) - Syrian forces unleashed their heaviest pounding of Homs in two weeks on Friday, activists said after the UN General Assembly backed an Arab initiative calling on President Bashar al-Assad to stand down.

Rockets crashed into Khaldiyeh and Bayyada, centres of resistance in the central protest hub, at the rate of four a minute, according to an opposition activist inside the beleaguered city.

"It's the most violent in 14 days. It's unbelievable -- extreme violence the like of which we have never seen before, with an average of four rockets every minute," Hadi Abdullah of the opposition General Commission of the Syrian Revolution.

"In addition to the districts of Baba Amr and Inshaat, Khaldiyeh and Bayyada were pounded on Friday, but the shelling of these neighbourhoods was not as intense as in recent days," he told AFP in Beirut by phone from inside Homs.

AMMAN/BEIRUT: Syrian security forces fired live ammunition to break up a protest against President Bashar Assad in Damascus on Saturday, killing at least one person, opposition activists said.

Up to 30,000 demonstrators had taken to the streets in the capital’s Mezze district, near the headquarters of Airforce Intelligence and that of the ruling Baath Party, witnesses said.

Footage of the funeral broadcast on the Internet showed women ululating to honor the victims. Mourners shouted: “We sacrifice our blood, our soul for you martyrs. One, one, one, the Syrian people are one.”

Youtube footage from the Damascus suburb of Douma showed several thousand protesters at the funerals of two people said to have been killed there by security forces. The bodies were carried though a sea of mourners waving pre-Baath Syrian flags.

Large opposition protests erupt close to Assad’s palace in Damascus

http://news.sky.com/home/world-news/article/16172469

Remarks: Large protest at the Presidential palace in Damascus today. Yesterday 30,000 came out for funerals and Assad's forces fired live rounds on them. US drones in the skies monitoring the situation. Assad has set February 26 as a day for reforming the Constitution of the country. It is not likely he will tolerate any protests that can effect that or his rule in the country.

Sheikh Nasrallah, head of Hezbollah (Lebanese Shiites) said they will take revenge for the killing of Imad Mugniyeh, but they will not do so by assasinating a few governmental people. They were recently accused of trying to assassinate Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak on a recent trip to Singapore. Hezbollah's position is that they support Syrian President Assad.

Earlier this week loaded domestically made nuclear fuel into a research reactor in the capital of Tehran, which was running out of nuclear fuel originally provided by Argentina in the 1990s. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad present to observe.

"Fuel elements, for the first time created by Iranian scientists, will in the presence of the president ... be loaded into the Tehran research reactor," Ali Bagheri, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, was quoted as saying.

Mark Hibbs, a nuclear expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said he did not believe the Iranian announcement signalled any mass production of nuclear fuel.

"We are talking about laboratory-scale production of a single element for the reactor," he said.

Spent fuel can be reprocessed to make plutonium, potential bomb material, but Western worries about Iran's nuclear programme are focused on its enrichment of uranium, which can also provide the core of nuclear weapons if refined much more.

Western powers fear that Iran's uranium enrichment programme is part of a covert bid to develop the means to build atomic weapons - suspicions that were given independent weight by a detailed U.N. nuclear watchdog report late last year.

Remarks: Just want to keep the truth out there. They made nuclear fuel for their energy needs. They have the capability to do othe things if they chose to, but they have not done those things yet, so even though Israel is calling for "crippling sanctions" to be imposed on Iran, all they are doing right now is providing for their own country in the midst of an international US led boycott against them.

SYRIA, LEBANON, IRAN, AFGHANISTAN
2.20.12

There are reports ouf of Syria that 23 people were killed today and that Assad has his snipers out there. Iranian war ships have docked in Syria in a show of support. Meanwhile in Lebanon, the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani, met with Hizbollah stressing the need to stabilize their region against what is going on in Syria.

http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/30705-mufti-qabbani-meets-hizbullah-dele gation-lebanon-must-be-fortified-against-regional-unrest

Someone is also jamming the signals of Iran's Press TV, which has been reporting on the Syrian situation, in the same way they report on news happening anywhere. (They did recently do an interview with Wali Uh Rehman, from the Pakistani Taliban, it's probably just coincidence somebody is jamming their signals....)

“Hama is cut off from the outside world. There are no landlines, no mobile phone network and no internet. House to house arrests take place daily and sometimes repeatedly in the same neighborhoods,” an opposition statement said.

AFGHANISTAN

And yes there is news from Afghanistan, last Saturday, Hamid Karzai met with Samiul Haq, well known cleric from Darul Uloom, the madrassah where many Taliban received their reigious education, including Mullah Omar, in an effort to bridge the gap between the Taliban and Karzai.

Haq said he told Karzai that he would help in the "noble cause" as long as it was clear what was wanted from the Taliban. Karzai was in Pakistan on a trip to gain the country's cooperation in the nascent peace process.

"I told him to take steps to gain some confidence of the Taliban. 'They do not trust you,'" Haq said he told Karzai. "I told him that if you take a clear position on what you can offer the Taliban, and what you want from the Taliban, God willing, I will contribute in this noble cause".

Pakistan's Tehrik-i-Taliban's leader Waliur-Rehman Mehsud told Press TV that Washington has sought to launch peace talks with the Afghan Taliban over the US failure in Afghanistan, he also says Hakimullah Mehsud is alive and well. (and not killed in the recent drone strikes).

IRANIAN OIL

http://tehrantimes.com

http://www.tehrantimes.com/economy-and-business/95646-iran-inks-800-million -in-oil-deals

The Inter Naft Gas Prom Pars International Company signed an $800 million contract on Monday with Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company to develop three heavy crude oilfields, namely Kooh Mond, Booshgan and Kooh Kaki, off the Persian Gulf coasts.

Under the development plan, the three oilfields are expected to produce 10,000 to 12,000 barrels of oil per day in the first phase, and about 25,000 barrels per day in the second phase, according to the report, Mehr news agency reported.

To date, eighteen heavy and extra-heavy crude oilfields have been explored in Iran. The Ferdowsi oilfield, the largest extra-heavy crude oilfield in the Middle East, will be operational by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2015), the National Iranian Oil Company’s Director For Planning Affairs Abdolmohammad Delparish announced in September 2011.

Delparish added that development of onshore heavy-crude oilfields such as Kooh-e Mond and Zagheh were also on the agenda. Currently, Iran’s developed oil reserves are estimated at 560 billion barrels, of which 140 billion barrels are recoverable, including 70 billion barrels of heavy and extra-heavy crudes.

Iran holds the world's third largest proven oil reserves and the second-largest natural gas reserves.

REMARKS: 800 MILLION dollars in oil is there. The world's third largest reserve, and they will make European countries suffer for the sanctions imposed on their country. Now what do you think is going to happen?

Additionally, Iran has said it can cuts exports to more European nations such as Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Italy and Portugal as well as the UK and France. Iranian Oil Ministry spokesperson Ali Reza Nikzad-Rahbar announced on Sunday (2.19.12) that crude exports to British and French companies have been halted.

The Iranian parliament has prepared a plan calling for a halt to Iran’s oil exports to the European Union states that voted for sanctions on the country’s oil industry, which will reportedly be discussed in the parliament after Iran’s next parliamentary election, which is scheduled to be held on March 2.

http://www.tehrantimes.com/economy-and-business/95663-export-ban-will-hike- oil-price-to-150-iran-says

REMARKS: So the nations that voted along with the US for export sanctions to be levied against Iran will suffer for that along with Iran.

SYRIA

There has been coverage of the Syrian Journalist, Marie Colvin and her French Photojournalist, Remi Ochlik, who died in a compound in Syria which underwent heavy shelling on Wednesday. First we need to backtrack just a bit. Initially, reporters were believed to be missing because the communication situation over there is horrendous, after all a war is going on.

The Syrians maintain that journalists should register with Assad's ministry and let them know where they will be going in the country. Kind of hard to file an itinerary for reporters who need to be on the front lines and freely move whereever the war leads them to.

The point is the Syrians denied knowing where they were and this is probably a lie, and a lie that may have cost Ms. Colvin her life.

http://www.sana.sy/eng/21/2012/02/22/402075.htm

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Minister of Information, Adnan Mahmoud, said on Wednesday that the Ministry has no information about the entry or the presence of US Journalist Marie Colvin and French photographer Remi Ochlik and other foreign journalists in Syria.
In a press statement, the Minister added that the authorities in Homs were asked to look for the whereabouts of these journalists who were reported by some media to have been injured in Homs.

Minister Mahmoud pointed out that the Ministry asked all foreign journalists who entered Syria illegally to refer to the nearest immigration department in the areas of their presence to regularize their status according to law.

Remarks: Now why do I say they are probaby lieing when they deny knowing where the reporters were? They assassinated a citizen journalist named Rami Al-Sayyed, a local Syrian who was streaming and filing daily reports on the war. They assassinated him via a sniper who fired multiple rounds at key targeted areas in his body. This occured ONE day before the compound where Ms. Colvin was in was hit with heavy shelling. Does this seem like a coincidence to you?

http://www.yalibnan.com/2012/02/22/2-western-journalists-killed-2-wounded-i n-syria-activists/

"The journalists’ deaths came a day after a Syrian sniper shot dead Rami al-Sayyed, a prominent activist in Baba Amr who was famous for posting online videos, Shaker and the Local Coordination Committees activist group said.

A Homs-based activist, Omar Shaker, also said two other Western journalists were wounded. including a photographer for the Sunday Times and a Spanish reporter."

On Jan. 11, award-winning French TV reporter Gilles Jacquier was killed in Homs. The 43-year-old correspondent for France-2 Television was the first Western journalist to die since the uprising began in March. Syrian authorities have said he was killed in a grenade attack carried out by opposition forces — a claim questioned by the French government, human rights groups and the Syrian opposition. "

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17136037

"At least two other foreign journalists were wounded, activists said.
One was named as British freelance photographer Paul Conroy, who was working with Colvin, and Edith Bouvier of the French newspaper, Le Figaro. Bouvier was said to be in a serious condition. The dead and the injured journalists are said to have been taken to a field clinic in Baba Amr. "

And this is the citizen journalist, who risked and sacrificed his life to report on the genocide in his country.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17131958

This is his You tube channel with his video documentary of the war in Syria.

http://www.youtube.com/user/syriapioneer

He sustained multiple wounds including one to his carotid artery from the sniper.
Warning: Graphic contents, let this not happen to anyone else.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Xh0D777LfE

And this is his final epitah with Dr. Mohammed al Mohammed at the hospital, where he does the final video for Rami's life and martyrdom, the last thing he says is that he asks God to accept this man as a martyr.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/02/21/147224200/rami-al-sayed-syri an-citizen-journalist-is-killed-in-attack-on-homs

Why did he give his life? IN his own last words:

"Baba amr is facing a genocide right now. I will never forgive you for your silence. You all have just give us your words but we need actions. However our hearts will always be with those who risk their life for our freedom. I know what we need! We need campaigns everywhere inside Syria and outside Syria, and now we need all people in front of all embassies all over the world. In a few hours there will be NO place called BabaAmr and I expect this will be my last message and no one will forgive you who talked but didn't act."

This situation in Syria is beyond all humanity and comprehension. French President Sarkozy said this is it, it is time for Assad's regime to go, I agree. How many more people have to die asking for the world to care and do something about the genocide occuring in that country?

SYRIA
2.24.12

Most of the evidence of a deliberate attack comes from French journalist Jean-Pierre Perrin, who was also in the Homs suburb of Bab Amr. He described in Liberation how the house being used as a press centre had been "evacuated" after being targeted before. According to Perrin, evidence of this was also visible in the fact that its satellite antenna had been hit many times by snipers. He also described how the journalists in the city were warned several days before the fatal incident that they would be killed if they were caught, as well as suspicions that their communications may have been intercepted and their reports read by the regime.

In a separate interview, Perrin also told the Telegraph: "A few days ago we were advised to leave the city urgently and we were told: 'If they [the Syrian army] find you, they will kill you'. I then left the city with [Colvin] but she wanted to go back when she saw that the major offensive had not yet taken place." He added his view that the Syrians were "fully aware" that the press centre was broadcasting direct evidence of crimes against humanity, including the murdering of women and children.

Is there any other evidence that the regime is targeting those involved in telling the story in Homs?

As well as Colvin and Remi, a prominent citizen journalist, Rami al-Sayyed, was also killed the day before. In addition, a group of activists trained by the organisation Avaaz, including several medical volunteers attempting to reach the press centre and two other citizen journalists, were found executed with their hands tied near Bab Amr after trying to reach the injured and dead reporters.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/feb/23/syrian-regime-crimes-humanity-u n

The UN report found evidence that "army snipers and Shabbiha gunmen [from pro-Assad militias] posted at strategic points terrorised the population, targeting and killing small children, women and other unarmed civilians. Fragmentation mortar bombs were also fired into densely populated neighbourhoods."

It said: "Security agencies continued to systematically arrest wounded patients in state hospitals and to interrogate them, often using torture, about their supposed participation in opposition demonstrations or armed activities."

"All the crimes we listed came from several consistent witness accounts and showed systematic abuses.""we are not a court. We could not investigate and sentence like a court.

"So it has been deposited with the UN high commissioner for human rights. When and if these incidents are investigated by a court, it will be made available and provide an input into the investigation."

“Have we truly supported the Syrian people? Will we settle for symbolic statements? Is it humane to settle for delivering aid and leaving the Syrians to the merciless (killing) machine?” Prince Saud added.

Monday night, 2.20.12, a NATO truck brought Qurans to a waste disposal pit where trash is burned in Herat. Qurans were destroyed.

Most believe the destruction of the Qurans was deliberate. At least 15 people have died as a result of protests due to the destruction of the Qurans. Obama sent a letter to Karzai on Thursday promising an investigation. The protests are not limited to Afghanistan. There were protests in Kuala Lumpur, Pakistan and other countries.

Germans have closed their military base in Talokan early over fears of what will happen because of this incident. Speaking in London on Thursday, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said: "I deeply regret, that the protests over the Koran burning led to deaths again today in Afghanistan. I call on everyone to apply moderation, reserve and non-violence." In Talokan, 300 protesters gathered in front of the Bundeswehr base. A reporter for German public broadcaster ZDF said protesters attacked the base with stones. The relatively small base is difficult to secure because it is located in the middle of a city with 200,000 inhabitants. This prompted the commander to move the base's 50 soldiers to the larger base at Kundus around 70 kilometers away.

In the eastern city of Jalalabad, students set fire to an effigy of President Barack Obama, and the US embassy in Kabul went into lockdown. In Kabul, hundreds of people poured onto the Jalalabad road, throwing stones at US military base Camp Phoenix, where troops guarding the base fired into the air and black smoke rose from burning tyres, an AFP photographer said. In Jalalabad, more than 1,000 demonstrators, many of them university students, blocked the highway shouting "Death to Americans, Death to Obama",

Protesters in the eastern Kapisa province took aim at the French military base there, though police deterred them successfully, its police chief Abdul Hamid said. Martine van Bijlert, from the Afghanistan Analysts Network (AAN), said the demonstrations were a combination of religious outrage, pent-up frustration over economic and security conditions, and groups wanting to stir trouble. Agencies They torched a tanker in Ala Say.

Reports from the Taliban to the press indicate the 18 tankers that were torched in Khost were done so in protest of the Quran burning incident. Other retaliatory incidents were:
4 Nato troops killed with a landmine in Kundoz, 1 tanker in Ala Say, Kapisa, 4 ANA checkpoints destroyed (for their cooperating with US forces) in Andraskan, a roadside bomb in Marawra, Kunar.

In Khogaini district of Nangahar, NATO troops opened fire on protesters, an ANA soldier turned and opened fire on the NATO troops. A firefight ensured between the forces more than 100 ANA security forces were killed. Even this was not the worst of the protess, which are said to have occurred in Maimna, capital of Faryab when protesters burst into the NATO base, killing 6 soldiers, burning 15 military vehicles. 30 protesters were killed during this attack.

All totalled so far since Tuesday 10 NATO troops were killed, and 100 ANA troops were killed. The Taliban have issued an official statement on on these events.

Rabi-ul-Awal 30, 1433 A.H, Thursday, February 23, 2012

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Last Tuesday night, the American invaders continued their barbaric acts and once again raised their hands in blasphemy against the sacred book of the Muslims (Holy Quran) by disrespectfully throwing hundreds of its blessed copies into the fire in Bagram military base. The zealous and faithful people of Afghanistan, in defense of their sacred book and in response to the savage actions of the American crusaders took to the streets and have held heated protests throughout the country against the American occupiers for the past 2 days during which tens of them have been martyred.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, despite condemning the American perpetrators of this unforgiving crime in an official statement on the initial day, it once again deems the ruthless martyring of the defenseless protestors by the barbaric Americans and their despicable backers as inhumane, unethical and an unjustifiable action, against which it gives its Mujahideen and its honored nation the following guidance:

1. As the repeated desecration and burning of the Holy Quran of the Muslims at the hands of the Crusaders is the natural and deliberate act of these infidels, then as part of our defense of our sacred book, we should not be satisfied with mere protests and empty slogans but the military bases of the invaders, their military convoys and their troops should become a target of our courageous attacks. Kill them, beat them, take them as prisoners and teach them such a lesson that they never summon the courage to abuse the Holy Quran again.

2. The infidel American officials want to cool down the feelings of the Muslims in reaction to this reprehensible act with mere dramatic apology but in reality, give free hand to its barbaric soldiers to continue with their savagery. The Muslim Afghan nation must not be deceived by their superficial apologies and must continue seeking revenge until punishment is dished out with your hands to the perpetrators of this heinous crime for their despicable transgression.

3. That the protection of the blood and wealth of every Muslim is the duty of all Muslims according to Shariah and transgression against it is absolutely prohibited therefore the target of revenge of the protestors should only be the American occupiers, their facilities and properties and not those of the ordinary people.

4. The despicable backers of the invaders who have turned a blind eye towards the unforgiving crime of the infidels due to their cowardice and as defense of them, are halting the march of the protestors then they should be prosecuted for their actions before the Americans.

5. As the Holy Quran is the sacred book of all the entire Ummah therefore the Islamic Emirate calls on all the Muslims of the world, their governments and people, religious officials of the two sacred mosques and the religious centers of Darul Uloom Deoband and Al Azhar, as part of their religious obligation and fervor to take a united stand against the desecration of our common book by the American aggressors. Condemn their unforgivable crime both practically and verbally and back the legitimate struggle of the Muslim Afghans against them.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

REMARKS: If the Nato troops find copies of Qurans and do not want them, they should donate them to mosques, schools. They should understand it is the religion of the country. The US forces position is that they are fighting certain people, not the entire religion of Islam. To destroy the book of the religion of Islam is an assault on the religion itself.

AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN, SYRIA AND IRAQ

IRAQ:

BAGHDAD: Al Qaeda’s front group in Iraq said on Friday that it carried out a wave of bombing and shooting attacks across the country that killed 42 people. The group said Thursday’s attacks, which hit six different provinces and left more than 250 people wounded, targeted security forces in response to “torture and killings against Sunnis”.

“The government of the Green Zone ignored warnings to stop the torture and killings against Sunnis, and they did not show any readiness to respond to these warnings,” the statement posted on a militant forum said, in a derisive reference to the heavily fortified area where the Iraqi government is based.

“In response to these crimes, the ministry of war of the Islamic State of Iraq launched a new wave of invasions through its security apparatus. "

Sunni insurgents often invoke Iran’s Safavid past, referring to the Shia dynasty that ruled Persia between the 16th and 18th centuries and conquered part of Iraq, when denouncing the Baghdad government, which they say is controlled by Iran.

PAKISTAN

In Paki, 10,000 Tribesmen gathered in Miranshah to attend a meeting where Jamiat-Uleme-e-Islami clerics Maulana Abdul Rehman, Ahmed Saeed, Maulana Saleem Gul addressed the crowd yesterday. If the Pakistani govt. continues with it’s goal to transfer the Medical College in North Waziristan Agency elsewhere, the US drone attacks do not stop, they will launch countrywide protests.

Jamiat e Islami Pakistan Amir, Syed Munawar Hasan after prayers at his mosque yesterday said the US was facing a moral and cultural defeat, he said several civilizations agains the west had vanished but Islam was the only one that stood firmly in it’s place. He denounced the destruction of the Quran which occurred at Bagram air base.

Remarks: Meanwhile the war continues.

There was a suicide attack on the Kowtali police department. three suicide bombers killed four policemen and injured another six during early hours of Friday. Imtiaz Altaf told reporters that the militants hurled hand grenades at the security men on the gates which triggered a crossfire. He added that the policemen promptly responded to the attack and the bombers had "no other option left but to explode themselves."

Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan told The Associated Press the attack was carried out by an affiliated group, the Abdullah Azzam Brigade. Abu Zarar, a man who claimed to be a spokesman for the Abdullah Azzam Brigade, also told the AP that the group executed the attack. He said it was in response to the death of one of the group's commanders, Badar Mansoor, in a US drone strike on Feb. 9, 2012. (this was the drone attack the US believed killed TTP co-Chief Hakimullah Mehsud, but it killed Abu Zarar, from the Abdullah Azzam Brigade; which is a group started under Osama bin Laden's tutelage).

[NOTE: The attack was in retaliation for one of their commanders being killed].

According to APP, (Associated Press Pakistan) the authorities of Lady Reading Hospital have released the names of dead policemen as SI Munawar Khan, ASI Falak Niaz and constables Dawer Khan and Khan Shah.

The injured included SHO (Hashtnagri) Gauhar Zaman, constables Rifaqat, Ansoob Ali, Salim, Muqadar Shah and Amjad Javed.

MS LRH Rahim Jan Afridi told media that the condition of two of the injured admitted at the hospital is critical.

Ehsanullah Ehsan, official Pakistani Taliban spokesman denied the group had any resonsibility for, a car bombing that killed 12 people at an outdoor minibus terminal in Peshawar on Thursday. That attack left 13 dead and 37 injured at a bus stand on Kohat Road in Peshawar.

On the battlefield:

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/02/25/uk-pakistan-us-drone-idUKTRE81O0G3 20120225

Taliban militants led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur said they had collected wreckage of the destroyed drone and would provide its pictures to the media Sunday. "The drone today in Machikhel was flying at low altitude and our fighters fired at and shot it down," a local commander of the Taliban said. "We have trained people for such type of job." "We got hold of half of the wreckage and were looking for the remaining parts when the Pakistan army troops arrived there and then we decided to leave. The troops fired heavy search lights and are looking for wreckage of the drone," he said.

REMARKS: The Quran burning was deliberate, it occurred inside Bagram military base, this is the third time Qurans have been destroyed in a Muslim country. An apology will not be sufficient. They want those responsible to be named, punished. The Pakistanis have enough problems in their own country, for 10,000 tribesmen to say they will take revenge country wide if the drone attacks do not stop is quite a serious matter, it could turn into civil war between both countries.

The United Kingdom has reportedly drawn up plans to send hundreds of troops and an extra nuclear submarine to the Persian Gulf amid escalating war threats against the Islamic Republic.

"MoD planners went into overdrive at the start of the year. Conflict is seen as inevitable as long as the regime (Iran) pursue their nuclear ambitions,” The Sun quoted a senior Whitehall official as saying on Sunday.

"Britain would be sucked in whether we like it or not," the official added.

The report said a military attack against Iran is “a matter of when not if … with 18 to 24 months the likely timescale.”

Turkish Cyprus’ leader has said he believes that southern Cyprus and Israel have begun negotiations over an Israeli military base in the southern part of the island despite the fact that both sides deny reports on the issue.

"They are hiding this. I would not get surprised if [Greek Cyprus] allows Israelis to have a military base," Turkish Cypriot President Dervi? Ero?lu told a group of journalists visiting him in his presidential palace today. "I think southern Cyprus wants to use this as a tool in the negotiations against us."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited southern Cyprus last week to deepen Tel Aviv’s cooperation with the Mediterranean island, which recently launched new oil and natural gas drilling,

KABUL (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber killed nine people in an attack on a military airport in eastern Afghanistan on Monday,There was no official indication the explosion at the gates of Jalalabad airport was linked to the deadly protests, but the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack as "revenge" for the Koran burnings.

Nineteen Afghan civilians and law enforcement officers and four NATO soldiers were wounded in the blast, a spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Nangarhar province, of which Jalalabad is the capital, said.

Jalalabad airport is almost exclusively used by NATO and the U.S. military.

Seven U.S. military trainers were wounded on Sunday when a grenade was thrown at their base in Afghanistan's north.

Verifying Resources:
Jalalabad: Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a provincial spokesman, Provincial Security Chief for eastern Nangarhar province Gen. Obaidullah Talwar confirming the report.

Kundoz: Provincial Police Chief, Samiullah Qatra 6 Nato troops wounded (Saturday).

Kabul: Interior Ministry: Abdul Saboor shot 2 US military advisors in the back of the head Saturday during that attack. He was previously a police officer, 25 years old, then was hired and working for military intelligence.

RE: Quran burnings:

Abdul Sobhan Mesbah, a defence lawyer who acts as a legal advisor to detainees at the Bagram base, told IWPR that he too believed the action had not been intentional.
Mesbah said that when some books and papers were taken out and burned as rubbish, labourers noticed some copies of the Koran within the pile and protested. Officials then quickly tried to extinguish the fire.

http://iwpr.net/report-news/afghan-anger-over-koran-burning

REMARKS: The Qurans were at the base most likely for the prisoners use, as the US forces are not Muslims. So the Qurans had to have been removed from some of the prisoners. The books were said to have been mixed in with other papers that were earmarked to be destroyed, how does someone not tell a book from papers? The fact that it occurred on the base at Bagram is what outrages many, reportedly, laborers saw the books there NOT at the pit where the garbage was brought to.

Meanwhile, several members of the Syrian National Council (SNC), the main coalition of opposition bodies to the Syrian regime , announced Sunday the creation of a rival organization, running the risk of further fragmenting the opposition to President Bashar al-Assad.

At least 20 Islamist and secular members of CNS have left the Council which was set up in Istanbul last year. The new body is headed by Haitham al-Maleh, a lawyer and former judge, long-time opponent to the Assad family. He was joined by Kamal al-Labwani, a leader of the opposition who spent six years in prison before being released in December.

BEIRUT: A Syrian activist group said Monday that 135 people have been killed across the country, including 64 who died while fleeing an embattled area in the central city of Homs.
The group said 64 of those who died were trying to flee shelling in the Homs neighborhood. The dead included three women, three children and four soldiers, the group said. It did not specify whether the soldiers had defected to the opposition.

It said 47 of the bodies were found between the villages of Al-Ghajar and Al-Tanouna, and that 17 others were found north of the village of Sid Al-Shindakhiyeh. All of those villages are located in central Syria, near Homs, which has taken a central role in the Syrian uprising.

A second activist group, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said 68 bodies had been brought to the hospital in Homs and that they were found between the villages of Ram Al-Anz and Al-Ajriyeh.

DOHA: The Doha Conference on the Defence of Jerusalem that concluded here yesterday adopted Qatar’s proposal to approach the UN Security Council to pass a resolution to set up an international commission of inquiry to probe the sinister acts of Israel to obliterate the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city since its occupation in 1967.

The proposal was made by the Emir, H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at the conference on Sunday. The Conference also welcomed the Emir’s call to prepare a comprehensive strategy to protect Jerusalem and Qatar’s pledge to support the move wholeheartedly.

The ‘Doha Declaration’ was released at the end of the conference last evening by the Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Jabor Al Thani, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The Declaration pledged support to the original inhabitants of Jerusalem and saluted their resilience in confronting Judaisation of the holy city which is an epitome of religious tolerance and a pot of blending cultures.

The Declaration stressed the participating countries’ commitment to various UN resolutions, treaties and international conventions and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations on international law and international humanitarian law for the return of Jerusalem as a city of peace, security, freedom and justice, emphasising it as the eternal capital of Palestine.

The Declaration said Israel is breaching the international law and forcibly displacing the people of Jerusalem through Judaisation schemes, denying them justice, obscuring history and heritage, segregating people and confiscating people’s properties.

The Declaration called on the UN and all its institutions to shoulder their responsibility towards Jerusalem and its people; to ensure that they enjoy all their civil, economic and social rights in their city and to preserve the city’s sacred sites, historical monuments and human heritage. The Declaration called on the government of Switzerland, the depositary of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, to speed up the call for the resumption of the Conference of High Contracting Parties to the Convention to implement the UN resolutions in this regard, in order to take the necessary measures to stop the Israeli violations and protect Jerusalem , its people and its holy sites.

3.2.12 Update on the Journalists in Syria

The French photographer William Daniels, on assignment for TIME, and the seriously injured French reporter Edith Bouvier, were led out of Syria in a perilous maneuver involving dozens of Syrian volunteers who were working with opposition activists -- an operation that has focused attention on a New York City–based organization called Avaaz.

Late Thursday night, Daniels sent text messages to TIME confirming he was in Lebanon and out of danger. "We are out," he wrote. "And Edith is safe."

http://www.france24.com/en/20120302-syria-french-journalists-land-home-afte r-homs-ordeal-edith-bouvier-william-daniels

They arrived back in France after being smuggled out of Syria into Lebanon.

Injured French journalist Edith Bouvier and her colleague, William Daniels, arrived in France Friday from Lebanon. After fleeing to Lebanon the previous day, Bouvier and Daniels landed in a medically equipped plane at the Villacoublay military airport near Paris. They were greeted at the airport by their close family members and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

MEANWHILE IN SYRIA:

Today, Friday 3.2.12

Meanwhile 51 have been killed in Syria today under conditions some are calling Summary Executions.A child, woman and 14 in Baba Amr, 16 in the Rastan area of Homs, (20,000 civilians still trapped in Homs)

Rebel forces are in control in Homs in the areas of Khaldiyeh, Bayyada, Bab Sbaa and Hamidiyeh, t Assad’s forces vow to come and take care of them.

Others executed include 11 in Idlib, 4 in deir al Zour. Demonstrations are occurring in Aleppo, Halab al Jadida, Salah al Din, Saif al Dawla. Assad’s forces are firing live rounds into the crowd in Salah al Din and Saif Al Dawla. Some were killed outside the Salam mosque in Barzeh, Damascus after prayers. Protests also occurring in Mazzeh, Hajar al-Aswad, al-Aasali, Douma, Qadam, Qaboon and Kfar Sousa.

The Syrian opposition on Thursday formed a military council in charge of organizing and coordinating the armed rebellion in the country under a unified command, said Thursday Bourhan Ghalioun, head of the Syrian National Council (SNC). "The creation of a military council has been endorsed by all armed forces in Syria," he told a press conference in Paris.
"It will be like a Ministry of Defense," he added. The SNC has been criticized by some Syrian groups for not openly supporting the armed opposition, led by the free Syrian Army.

Remarks: So there is victory in that the reporters were able to be smuggled out to safety, but there are still 20,000 civilians trapped in Homs, and Assad's forces executing people and vowing to continue the onslaught particularly in the areas where rebel forces have the upper hand. The Syrian National Council seeks to help the rebels by establishing a central Military Command who can help organize coordination of the many groups who are fighting Assad's regime. This will most certainly intensify the war and Assad's earlier predicitons that 30,000 may be killed by this summer by his forces may be prophetic.

3.3.12 Updates

SYRIA, IRAN, AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN

SYRIA

Reports from today 3.4.12 are that the shelling has continued. This is from yesterday.

http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/32113-u-n-report-7-085-syrians-fled-to-l ebanon-for-safe-haven
UN reports 7,085 Syrians have fled to Lebanon since the outbreak of violence in Syria.

http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2012/sgsm14139.doc.htm
25,000 refugees are now registered with UNHCR in neighbouring countries; between 100,000 and 200,000 people are internally displaced.

BEIRUT: The father-in-law of Syrian President Bashar Assad says he is “horrified” by his violent crackdown on civilian protesters, reported the UK’s Express newspaper Sunday.

Fawaz Akhras, the London-based cardiologist, has told friends in the British Syrian Society that his daughter, Asma, is now in an impossible situation, caught between her family in Damascus and that of her family’s home city of Homs, which has been under intense bombardment by the Syrian Army for at least a month.

He says he has quietly been pushing for change since before the uprising began last March, and has begged his son-in-law to enact reforms “before it’s too late.”
Akhras says he is fearful for the safety of Asma, 36, who married Assad 12 years ago. There are rumors she is being kept virtually under house arrest by authorities close to the president, for fear she might try to escape to her native London, the Express reports.

IRAN
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/229749.html

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has announced the discovery of a huge oil field with considerable crude reserves in southern Iran.

AFGHA
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/mar/02/us-afghan-pullout-deal-hopes-fa de

The strategic partnership agreement the US wants to sign with Karzai's Afghan government is off the table for now due to Karzai's insistence of total cessation of the night raids and also turning over power for the prisons to the Afghans. The US meanwhile is considering sending in CIA (Blackwater type operatives) as they have to Pakistan.

Karzai's refusal to budge on the night raids is not only a humanitarian concern for him, it is also personal. NATO forces killed his cousin during one of those night raids.

Officials in the southern province of Kandahar confirmed that Haji Yar Mohammad Karzai, a second cousin of the president, was accidentally shot during an overnight operation in the family village of Karz. He was an old man at the age of 60.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/10/nato-troops-kill-afghan-preside nts-cousin?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487

PAKISTAN

The US has a resolution before Congress to provide sovereignty to Balochistan, Pakistan. That’s the place where all the oil is in Pakistan. If it is a sovereign place, then whoever is ruling it, can enter into partnership agreements with foreign investors.

http://arabnews.com/opinion/columns/article580204.ece

“The resolution also outlines Republican designs for the region if the likes of Dick Cheney, Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz come to power again. Otherwise what took them 60 years to wake up to the pain of Balochistan and advocate the Balochis’ “historic right to self-determination?”

REMARKS: It's not just about the oil, but oil is a big part of the business partnership the US seeks to foster in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

3.5.12

SYRIA

As bad as the situation in Syria is for the civilian population with the ongoing shelling, snipers and summary executions there is something even worse going on and that is torture that has been documented. John McCain has advocated military intervention and I think we all know that is what is necessary to stop the carnage so the only question is WHEN is that going to be implemented.

16 rockets in 15 minutes in Rastan area of Homs, Syria

http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/03/05/198786.html

A video leaked from a military hospital in the embattled Syrian city of Homs has revealed horrific images of patients receiving torture, instead of treatment, by medical staff. The footage from the Homs military hospital showed wounded patients blindfolded and shackled to their beds with marks of torture on their bodies. Some instruments of torture, including a rubber whip and electrical cable, appear on a table in one of the hospital wards.

“I have seen detainees being tortured by electrocution, whipping, beating with batons, and by breaking their legs. They twist the feet until the leg breaks,” he told “Mani”, a French photojournalist, who himself risked his life, smuggling the covert footage out of Syria.

“I saw them slamming detainees’ heads against walls. They shackle the patients to beds. They deny them water. Others have their penises tied to stop them from urinating.”

He said he witnessed torture by civilian and military surgeons at the hospital and by other medical staff, including male nurses.

Valerie Amos, UN Humanitarian Affairs Chief, and Kofi Annan are going there to look around. The United Nations says that over 7,500 civilians have died in Syria's nearly year-long crackdown on protests against the government of President Bashar Assad. Annan and Qudwa are due to arrive on Wednesday 3.6.12 in Cairo where the pan-Arab organization is based and to hold talks with Arabi on Thursday before flying to Damascus on Saturday, the League chief said. In Beijing, foreign ministry spokesman Lu Weimin said that China's former ambassador to Damascus, Li Huaxin, would travel to Syria on Wednesday for meetings with the government and other parties.

The shelling of Rastan continues 3.5.12.

The abuse is so documented, what more is necessary before Assad’s genocide is halted?

PAKISTAN

RE: The Pakistani Taliban lowering the rank of Bajaur Deputy TTP Commander, Faqir Muhammad, Faqir has had some ideological differences with the Pakistani Taliban over the past year. He aligned himself with the Afghan Taliban over the issue of suicide bombings. The Afghan contingent will NEVER use children for suicide bombing jihad, Mullah Omar has forbidden it, while the Pakistani side will allow the children to train with the regular AQ inspired fighters and perform operations.

The Pakistani side also will target mosques if Frontier Corps personnell are in there, the Afghan Talibs do not want fighting near the mosques as the noble Quran speficially says not to fight anyone there, unless they fight you there. The Pakistanis say, well they are in there praying, then come out and go back to shooting at us, so why can't we attack them there.

Even though TTP had demoted Faqir Muhammad, if he were in trouble and needed help and asked for it, they would still provide it, they just will not consider him to be in a leadership role where he directs their troops making military decisions.

Faqir has wanted to negotiate the peace process, and the Pakistani Talibs will not negotiate peace until all foreign troops are removed and the drone attacks stop, so there are issues where they are of different opinion. When one of the issues involves who and how jihad is done, it is understandable why the Shura voted to remove him from his Deputy Commander position.

LIBYA/ALGERIA

Algeria has given sanctuary to Moammar Qaddafi's family but says they will not allow them to interfere in Libyan affairs or governance in the future.
