I hope so.

The Boston team with the longest stretch without a championship?

The Patriots.

That will change. Soon.

Nice being a Boston fan these days.

Hey, every hockey team should win a championship every 40 years.

so should NFL teams...but I digress.

All the players have to do is sign.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Leonard Pope saved a six-year-old boy from drowning in his Georgia hometown, the Americus Times-Recorder reported Monday.
Pope, who would typically be off training under the supervision of Chiefs' coaches and staff if not for the NFL lockout, was visiting his hometown of Americus in southern Georgia when he reportedly performed the heroic deed.

The 27-year-old tight end was attending a pool party over the weekend when fellow Americus native Anne Moore said her son Bryson began drowning.

"All of a sudden, I saw Bryson going down in the water and I started screaming," said Moore, who knew Pope long before his playing days. "Leonard was inside, and he came out of nowhere and dove into the water without any hesitation, cell phone in his pocket and all. He saved my son's life, and I am so thankful that he was there for me and my child."

Moore told the Times-Recorder the 6-foot-8, 264-pound tight end was the only guest at the party who knew how to swim.

"The fact that he is normally at camp and could have been in Kansas City just proved to me that he was placed here to save my son from drowning, and I thank God that he was here," Moore said. "He truly lived up to his nickname 'Champ' because he was truly a champion for me and my son this past weekend."

Pope was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals out of the University of Georgia in 2006. He was signed by the Chiefs in 2009. Pope had 10 catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns last season for Kansas City.

That was a very nice ending to what could've been a bad summer party. Way to go Mr. Pope. And if the NFL can't get over their insatible greed, at least Mr. Pope can be a lifeguard or a swimming coach.

I'm just waiting for some US Senator to introduce a bill mandating the season start on time. That's what we need to get this rolling...an act of Congress.

Hopefully, we'll have football by 2014.

as a season ticket holder that gets robbed into buying 2 preseason games each year, i am hoping strike runs long enough to shorten preseason to 2 games so i can save the dumbest 600 ever spent by a human being!!!! i bought a PSL but the preseason nonsense is retarded and an additional cost of going to see football.

yo ratboy, that post has been reported to the admins. Have fun in the playpen if you aren't banned completely.

I'm sure they'll see the transgression of your ways.

Sang? His appreciation for the Alba/Vonn duo is worthy of some slack and his blasphemy will go unreported.

as for the rest of you still wandering in the darkness of doom there is hope in the light of the beloved Patriots....

At least they're talking, looks like maybe both sides are starting to get serious about wanting to settle this. Let's get this done and get ready for some football!

Last week the Chiefs players had a "secret" 3-day minicamp on their own. I had a feeling that it might be at my old high school (a former Chief is the head football coach), sure enough, on the third day the local media tweeted some pics and there they were.

Apparently they did it up with classroom work, catered food, morning and afternoon workouts. Matt Cassel paid for 90% of it and even flew in the rookies so they could be a part of it.

Come to find out, there was a 48 hour period last month where coaches and players could talk to each other, and the whole private mini-camp idea came from Todd Haley, who even gave Cassel some playbooks.

With the Chiefs brutal schedule we're probably looking at 6-10 at best, but that was pretty cool last week.
