OK, I'm the operator of the Time Machine. I'm giving you the option to attend ANY rock 'n' roll event, anywhere, anytime. Where am I sending you, and what date?
This is a tough one, and I know a lot here will pick the early days of ABB, which would be VERY high on my list. My pick, though? I want to be at Liverpool's Cavern Club for a Beatles show in 1962, before they ever made it to the U.S. ____________________ Don't let the sounds of your own wheels

I had a chance to go to the Crossroads Fest in chicago a couple of years ago and I had a chance to see Stevie Ray Vaughn the night before he passed in Kalamazoo,MI.
Also had a chance to see UFO in 1995 with Schenker. I was going to see Hookah Brown here in Indy at a small club, had to work.

rydethwind: YEAH, Monterey Pop, what an excellent choice!! If I had thought of it, might very well have picked that. I wouldn't pick Woodstock just because of the logistics of too many damn people. But Monterey was basically the father of Woodstock, had on a lesser scale just as strong a lineup, and there were only maybe 30,000 there (I'm guessing, it was probably less than that). ____________________ Don't let the sounds of your own wheels

The June 26, 1971 Fillmore East show is a pretty easy choice for me, particularly since there is no lasting record of the show's performance and it is held in almost mythical high regard by both band members and Bill Graham. At least for many of the other selections there are ways to relive it. Come to think of it, though, I recall some other incredible ABB Fillmore East performances being well-documented. But mayber in this case the motto should be: "Accept no substitutes". ____________________

I would probably have to go with Hendrix at Monterey which is my favorite live Hendrix recording but Woodstock as a whole would be tough to pass on. ____________________ Pete

Yeah, the early days of the ABB would be very high on the list and might even get the nod, but if I had the chance to see Hendrix, SRV or Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead) in their respective primes I'd have to go with that.
Oh, I was supposed to pick just one?
Impossible!

Caught them at Winterland in S.F. Billy Powell missed the show with a badly cut finger or thumb...
I had the chance to see Little Feat back in '74 in L.A. ...just a little before X-Mas. Had a line on a ticket and a ride... "Man you gotta come, these guys have this singer named George, plays slide guitar"... opted to go Christmas shopping with the parental units... ( I was car less at the time).....
I'd like to have that one back
