Saw him at the first Wanee (if memory serves.) He played at the bar there on Thursday. Smokin' indeed.

Best guitarist in the N FL/S GA area. Wish he'd get his butt to Jax or St. Augustine and explode some heads.

Seems like he always plays at Wanee the day before the festival....

I met Josh many years ago when his SRV tribute band, Texas Flood, played a little club in Augusta called Jeremy's. I did sound for him with my little PA. His stage volume was SO loud he overpowered my PA. He kept asking for more monitor, and he wouldn't turn down the stage volume, so all I could say was, "Sorry bud. That's all I got." EXCELLENT guitarist, major Strat slinger and a really nice dude. He even contacted me on Myspace a while back and asked me if I'd be interested in being his bass player, but logistically, it wasn't doable with him being from Waycross (south GA) and me being four hours away to the north in Augusta. If you get a chance to see him, GO. He's an amazing player.

Yeah, I've seen Kirkland on Thursday night for every Wanee so far. He is a sick guitar player. I know the Radiators get the Thursday night gig this year, which rocks by the way, But.............c'mon guys lets see the radiators on the amphitheatre stage w/ an encore presentation of Josh Kirkland in the Music Hall!!!!!! and IMO the ABB should invite up Josh for a sit in during one of their shows. I think they're scared his guitar solo won't stop >they tend to last A WHILE< kind of like Bernie Worrell's solo on the Deepest End, Warren just can't get him to stop. I laugh every time I watch that part of the DVD. Anyway, I'm off subject. JOSH KIRKLAND PETITION FOR WANEE 09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
