Hmmm....that's a Thursday night.

In all my 35 plus years of concert going, I've never been to a ZZ Top show.

Should I start the poll now - are they worth seeing still....or not?

I saw them about 5 years ago at A;pine Valley Wi. Kenny Wayne Sheppard opened followed by Ted Nugent and ZZ Top was the headliner and man was I disappointed because I had seen them in their prime back in 1975 and was expecting something similar. They displayed No energy or passion and just seemed to be going through the motions, it was a real snoozer.

When he actually played Ted Nugent was pretty good but I got a headache listening to him yell and scream and curse half the show about what a bunch of pussies all the liberals are.

Kenny Wayne Sheppard showed up 20 minutes late and only played for 25 minutes so I have no idea if he is any good or not.

I am in the same situation (only it has been 15 years of concerts), never saw them, but really want to because I love old ZZ Top.

At the same time, I really don't want to pony up lots of money for a 60-min set of all 80's material.

They kind of reminded me of Brett Favre, trying to hold on to and recapture something that they just aren't physically able to do anymore.

I saw them at the Beacon back in Sept. '07. They were pretty good. It was my first time seeing them. They were LOUD! Felt like the drums were kicking me in the chest and I was in the loge.

recently the 80's songs from their setlist are:
gimme all your lovin
legs
sharp dressed man
tube snake boogie
pearl necklace
roughboy
under pressure
maybe 1 other 80's tune
then about 7-9 songs from the 70's and a few newer tunes
