I'm listening to this CD and I like it alot and prefer it to the Live at Carnegie Hall CD. I think this one is rawer and it sounds like he is out to prove he deserves to get a record contract.

There is one riff in the live version of "Tin Pan Alley" (ITB) thats sends a shiver down my spine, you know it when you hear it.....

You're right John S516. That version of Tin Pan Alley is smokin'.

About ten years ago when I was in Austin I visited the Steamboat, where this album was recorded. Austin is definitely a place worth visiting when your in Texas for the variety of music.

I like "Slide Thing" which contains some great slide guitar. "All Your Love (I miss Loving)"

On youtube there is good footage of SRV from Austin, 1980. Doing an outside gig.

Great disc, although it is not the full show. Had a boot of it once that was 2 discs...

If you got to Austin (and I suggest you do-incredible music town and all-around great place to hang out) make sure you visit the SRV Monument on the south bank of the Colorado River just west of Congress Street. It looks so much like him it's eerie...

And a few-3, I think-from 8-25-90, which was the 1st of the 2 shows he did at Alpine Valley before he was killed. 8-25-90 was the Saturday night show and the night I was there and the only soundboard from that weekend was from this show.
