The Dead and ABB would fill that park plus some. It would be a much different vibe for sure. That is not a bad thing by any means but boy would it be crowded! June in Florida just might prompt a little nudity (hey now!).

The camping is a big part of it for me. I don't suspect a campfire in June will be necessary.

MotherT what is the insect situation there in N Fla in June?

The main problem will be the shows scheduled at the big stage during the day....there is no way I can stand out in the sun for any length of time, then hope to stay up late that evening to watch the main acts....call me whatever you like...old fart, whatever, this Florida sun will flat out take the life out of you, that is if you aren't used to it and by that I mean work outside in it. I live in Florida but do not work outside.

Then there's the camping, a whole 'nuther story...like Danny said, no campfires.....

They are gonna phuck around and make it too late in the year for me to go. Summer is my busy season at work.

WHY...I repeat...WHY...do they have to go effin' around with the dates when they've had a tradition of mid April since the festival's inception?

I just can't help but think that some promoter has visions of Bonnaroo like numbers for our little 'fest and think that by moving it to June it will attract more ticket buyers.

And it probably will if you think about it...more college age kids possibly, dang it.

Oh well, it was a fun run...our little unknown 'fest, yes it was.

heineken515, there is plenty of shade at both stages. The Peach(bigger of the two) has less, but if you sit on the hillside there is plenty of shade available.
This moving the festival to June will do exactly what Dave said, phuck it up. I'll be there, but will probably not enjoy it as much as I would if the show was in April.
As far as no fires, Camp Mac on Lake Kissimmee down in Central Florida has a fire going all year long when I used to go there to fish tournaments. I've huddled up next to it many of times early in the morning during the Summer months, so it's not like it'll be too hot for a campfire, just no bonfires for this time of the year.
If it goes down in June bring plenty of Yankee cream and lots of bug spray. There will probably be a lot of evening showers, so bringing a rainsuit would help too.

I gave this some thought as well. My buds from Ohio/Kentucky are probably not going to make it down, probably opt for Bonaroo. Add to that my new job and whether they'll give me some days off without making me take a vacation, which brings this back to where it all began. When are they going to annouce the dates.
