Just looking for opinions from those how have switched from cable TV to Sling TV, Hulu Live, YouTube TV or other streaming services.

I watch mostly major networks on local channels, sports - ESPN, FOX Sports, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, news, TBS, TNT, WGN, and USA.

Looking for recommendations for other providers as well.

Happy New Year and Thanks,
CB

I looked at the same recently.

It would not work out for me because no one offered all the sports I needed if I cancelled cable. I'm a big college football & basketball fan and must have the Pac 12 Network.

I ended up cancelling everything but basic cable except the Sports Package which includes the above, ESPN, Fox Sports One etc... Lowered my bill by $90 a month.

One issue with cancelling cable was for me they really jack up the price of your internet service. The only other internet service available in my are has a horrible reputation, although much cheaper.

Good luck. Curious to see if you find a better alternative that meets your needs.

I am not really a big tv watcher to begin with. Four years ago we cancelled our Direct TV. It was getting WAY to expensive . We saved alot by getting rid of it .
The only thing I do miss is the sports, but thats what the radio is for now.
I know to some people TV is important ,its just not a priority for me. Alot of it is just awful and can turn into a time suck.

We just have an antenna, Netfilx and Hulu. Thats good enough for me. If it was not for the kids I would probably just have the antenna.

My wife and I listen to alot of NPR radio, great stuff to be found on there and also on our PBS TV stations too.

We cut the cord after our last move and haven't looked back. Had DirecTV for years, mostly for sports. But it was getting ridiculously expensive - over $200/month during NFL season. Along with Netflix and Amazon Prime, most Smart TVs have enough apps that we get what we want without cable. MLB has a great app if you want to follow just your team or get access to all games. You can get a $15/month HBO subscription which has a huge library of movies. We've had good luck with illegal online streams of NFL games. I've tried both Hulu and SlingTV, and found Sling to have a higher quality stream, but still haven't felt the need to pull the trigger on more channels - most of it is reruns anyways or will eventually show up on Netflix or Amazon.
