Tedeschi Trucks Band - Revelator is probably the best debut album I have heard in a long time.

Hot Tuna
The Wailers/BM&W - Burnin'
Peter Tosh - Equal Rights
Not sure which Credence album was first but I am sure that was plenty good. Not many CCR songs that aren't really good.
The Talking Heads 77
Dire Straits
JJ Cale - Naturally
Blind Faith

While notmy favorite bands, the impact of these albums were pretty dramatic:

Counting Crows: August and Everything After
Whether you like them or not, Hootie and the Blow Fish's first album had hit after hit.
Matchbox 20 (can't really stand them, but a monster debut album)

Taj Mahal -- for my money, the best blues record ever. Period.

Boyz II Men -- Cooleyhighharmony

Jay-Z -- Reasonable Doubt

Sublime

Garth Brooks

Rage Against the Machine

Black Crowes -- Shake Your Moneymaker

Maroon 5 -- Songs About Jane

Dr. Dre -- The Chronic

Wu-Tang Clan -- 36 Chambers

Hootie -- Cracked Rear View

NaS -- Illmatic

Mayall -- Beano

OutKast -- SouthernPlayalistik...

Biggie -- Ready to Die

The Band -- Big Pink

Little Feat

DMB -- Under the Table

Game -- The Documentary

DMX -- It's Hot ...

Fleetwood Mac

Blind Faith

And of course Layla. Since that just happens to be the best record of all time.

Some will disagree with this one, how about Bachman Turner Overdrive. To me the first album was the best.

I would agree with this one being a fine debut, but not necessarily their best.

Great choice though....
