Wow...45 years...too many shows since 73 to even recall all of them or how many(although I have most of the tix stubs) ,but a great joy and honor o be a part of the ABB family of fans...and to make friends as a result of this mutual passion for everything Allman.

Lost a bit of interest in the live shows last few years, but still listen regularly.

Since the early 90's a major part of my life....used to go to 8-10 shows for a bunch of years....even now always hit one show...

First saw Derek in 97 and Warren with DB & GS.

First heard warren with ABB on some boot tape in 89 and knew they were back.

First heard Derek on boot tape...he was 10...I was mesmerized and herd the makings of THAT tone...the impact of Duane on this kid...I was almost waiting for him to join the Brothers....

The 70's...my formative years with the Allmans...wow,hard to imagine March without that itch...knowing its right there...and then its not...sad feeling of loss..

I'll be honest, I would've bet a million bucks that the band would've ended when Gregg, Butch, and Jaimoe were too old to continue, not because the 3 young guys wanted out.

Hey Boyton! So far, the only announcement is that Warren and Derek are out. The handwriting of the end of the band does seem to be on the wall, but so far that has yet to be announced. Seems the ABB is on life-support at the moment.

How can they continue with Warren and Derek? And Oteil leaving most likely next year too? I don't know if I want to see another reincarnation.

Surprising news ....
Who knows what the future holds? Devon and Berry Oakley Jr have been playing with Gregg for a few shows recently???
45 years is a long long time.... maybe the road doesn't go on forever.
Sure wish I had tickets to the Tribute show in Atlanta...

Is anyone else angry with Warren and Derek? I understand their decision, but I just don't get it. I'll get over it I guess.

I was fortunate to see the current ABB line-up as many times as I did. Nothing but the best to Warren and Derek.

This was an interesting thread that started about January first. I thought it couldn't be correct, but I guess it was dead on.

Also, there is Luther Dickinson. I think he is a great player and could handle the gig.

wow. its interesting that this is being presented as a personel change and not a group decision to retire.

Indeed. Maybe the rest, having all of 2014 to consider going on, will keep their options open. Most likely this is the end though, and I'd prefer this way to health or death ending it.

About 50 shows under my belt, and it's hard to expect more than that. It has been a wonderful ride!

See some of you Friday....

Why be angry with them? I'm sensing (hoping to be wrong) that larger announcements are coming soon.
Without the inputs of Warren and Derek, this whole thing likely would've gone away years ago.

God bless 'em all!

These guys have kept the ABB going a long time. I can't blame them one bit.

I would rather the band choose to retire than bring in two new guitarists. It's way too late in the game for it.

It has been a heck of a ride. Words can not express what the ABB have and will continue to mean to me. I will greatly miss seeing the band perform live.

Could not agree more.

Just let them finish out the year on TOP and ride into the sunset like they deserve.

I'm not convinced this is the end.
Just a new chapter. Less demand means I'll be seeing the new lineup in 2015.
Looking forward to it. Jack? Are you listening Jack?

With as impressive as warren and Derek have been, it's hard for me to imagine the brothers without them at this point. It's been an amazing ride, and repeating what's already been said: maybe the road doesn't go on forever. Without an extra week added to the beacon run, I won't make it up there this year. At least I still have Friday, and wanee with hopes for an extensive southeast fall tour! I'll be following Warren and Derek for years to come in anything and everything they do.
