Here is the video of Warren playing with Steve Winwood on Gimme Some Lovin. Warren seems honored to be on stage with one of his idols as at the end Warren thanks him.

Thanks. It's usually a mistake to idolize musicians, but Steve and Warren are good choices to revere.

I always wanted to see a Winwood appearance at a Beacon run show.

Steve gave a Warren a heartfelt introduction and genuinely seemed thrilled to have him join in for the final tune of Mt. Jam VIII. I got the impression from both Steve Winwood and his entire band that they were digging the Mt. Jam crowd. I also thought Winwood played and sounded great. His very distinctive voice hasn't seemed to have lost much over the years. His band was great too.

I remember Winwood's guitar player Jose' Neto guested on a song "Empty Pages" with Warren Haynes?Gov't Mule at the Fillmore in S.F. a couple of years ago.

I read some where that Winwood and Warren sat together at the one-off Led Zeppelin reunion show at the O2 arena in England.

Speaking of Jose' Neto, I thought he was great. His first solo, which came about mid way through the set, was one of the best I heard all weekend IMO. And that includes Luther, Derek, Warren, etc....It was quite lengthy and featured some pretty impressive pull-offs, tapping, etc. It was impressive and very tasteful at the same time. And his tone is very sweet as well. You could see from the Youtube clip that he and Warren were certainly grinning at one another during "Gimme Some Lovin."

Yea what a great closer ! I watched it on i-clips. Dear Mr Fantasy was really slammin' before that. I saw Winwood @ rutgers u in the late 80's i think for $10. He really still can sing well. His playing hasn't slipped @ all. He's one of the few who has really aged well. Peace.
