From where? I was a 19 year old just out of high school secretary working for ABC-TV; WPLJ-FM was ABC's hip radio station. Used to run into DJ and ABB fan, Dave Herman in the candy store in the building's lobby and beg him for things - like tickets to this and to Delaney and Bonnie (and good, good friends) show.
Hermann was on at 9AM when I got into work and would interview some great people on the air (Duane included, although he was a little tipsy that morning). My friend Pattie and I used to wait for him to sign off after the interviews and hit the elevators, hoping we'd be in the right one and a couple of times, we were - Duane, John and Yoko, and Pete Townsend.
I really didn't care about goiing to Elton John's show although in hindsight, I wish I'd begged for those too. Those were some phenomenal nights of music in a small recording studio and a 150 people or so.

Yeah, this is not a "legitimate" release. It falls under into a grey area, and under UK laws (I believe) some recordings older than 25 years fall into public domain.

Anyhow, don't toss your boots for this because I am certain this will not sound any better. This is nothing more than a glorified bootleg. Don't waste your money.

We shall see!

It's only $12 approximately and, in the absence of the band giving a damn about archive releases, I'm prepared to take the risk.

OK, you could get the same thing for free on the site. This company does not have the "master" tapes; they just downloaded it for free like everyone else.

There are similar releases from Neil Young and Fleetwood Mac on the market right now.

I bought two similar albums last year - On Stage (Jackson Browne) and Live in Germany (Emmylou Harris and Spyboy).

The Jackson Browne sound quality is poor but Emmylou Harris is excellent.

I would say that, the first time I bought Ludlow Garage, I returned it for a refund as "not being of merchantable quality". I subsequently relented and bought it again as sometimes the music is more important than a pristine sound quality.

I guess the point is that you are paying for a bootleg. Obviously it's your choice.

The sound quality of the freely traded version is superb. Why pay for it? I don't get it.

The artwork is not even attractive or does it even make an attempt to appear as a legitimate release.

PM me your address and I will send a copy for free, the way it should be If you don't like it, then give your money to the criminal who is selling it. If you don't trust a Yank, ask Colin

I guess the difference is that some of us have no involvement in trading and have no idea what vines and B & Ps are and, when we see something described by Amazon as "legitimate", we take that at face value.

You're missing out on a LOT of GREAT music.
It is really quite simple actually.

The CD of Delaney and Bonnie's performance is excellent. True, it often takes buying one and then waiting a bit and buying another to get a better quality. This was recorded in a recording studio for God's sake. There's got to be a decent version available...somewhere.

Don't feel badly, but please don't give these guys any money. Like I said, PM your address and it would be my pleasure to send you a copy... and if you act now, I will throw in the D&B show with Duane, Gregg and King Curtis sitting in (shortly before Curtis' death).

I've had this show for a while, too. One of the better shows they did in 1971. IIRC, the guitar interplay between Duane and Dickey was so intense during DSW that, at one point, I couldn't tell who was playing what (on first listen.) The dudes were on FIRE!!

Then they had that little stumble on one of the bridge portions of Liz Reed -- & pull it right back together again -- Love this show, one of first boots I ever had & it couldn't sound any better on CD than on the cassette I've had for eons!!

Me too Stephen, had the cassette long before cd trading started. Played that cassette to death, still have it. I remember when I found the original bootleg of this show "New York City Blues," I was so excited to get it on cd (again, before cd trading got real popular, for me anyway.) It does sound great, A+, and this version still has the radio announcer's intro with all of the 7 Up sponsor talk, I think it really adds to setting the mood of the show. Where as most of the traded copies floating around do not have the intro.

A&R Studio Sessions:

This recording captured the ABB at their peak as a band. Its a
shame the ABB and D&B sessions sufaced 40 yrs later and were
never improved with todays technology.
I followed this band from day one and this my favorite
live show.
Also, I remember buying Ludlow Garage when it came out
it had a annoying buzzz recorded on each track. .

It's also the only recording of YDLM (at least that I know) that has the REAL Soul Serenade interlude, which Duane dedicated to King Curtis.

I hope my comments did not come off as harsh. It's just that I made the same mistake before I discovered trading and B&P's, etc.

I paid for pressed bootlegs, some over $50 each, just to have some "rare" Allman Brothers. I just hate to see bootleggers make any more money from folks who don't know these recordings are traded freely.

There was another post on this "release" by a UK company. They were also listing some Instant Lives, and so far Joe Bell has not weighed in to tell us if this seller is legit (I doubt it). There were other ABB boots as well as some Little Feat shows that I verified with the band are not commercial releases.

I think the famous Little Feat one was called Late Night Truck Stop. The exact same show (in better quality!) is available to download or stream right from the LMA. No excuse!

Alan ... no need for you to mail from US ... I will take care of Gordon (Shavian) from over her in the UK ... I will also send him the D&B recording ... still have that on my hard drive from when I sent it to Lizzie last year ...

By the way ... Gordon is a nice guy ... just not into trading and so is unaware of all that is "out there" ... I occasionally surprise him with a package now and then so this can be another such ... must be his birthday soon anyway!

Cheers y'all

I was just out of the Navy two weeks when this show was broadcast, I remember sitting around listening to it.

Thanks... but as I am getting up in years and often wake up in the middle of the night, I usually sit instead of standing. I cannot speak for Colin.
