Heh heh.

Very funny! But if there is a cutting room floor for book titles, this one is already there.

I've always thought that was the best line Gregg ever wrote.

It's not "feeling" or "showing" sorrow... no, it's "bearning," which is just such a perfect word for that emotion.

I was thinking of that too. Would make a good chapter.......But probably entitled as "THE SPAGHETTI INCIDENT?"

Can't wait to hear his version of "The Real Scooter Herring Story". Scooter passed a few years back so we'll never get his story but there are only a few of the original brotherhood who won't even bother to comment on his version of this. Left a bad taste in everybody's mouth, except for Gregg's who testified against a guy that was hired to do exactly what he was accused of. I do wonder how he feels about putting an employee in jail for doing his job, even if a lot of it was illegal.

Y'all know Gregg was forced to testify in that trial or face trial himself. He was addicted at the time and was pretty much between a rock and a hard place. He told the truth under oath and that was really his only choice. The telling of the trial in Midnight Riders seems pretty straight forward, and it's my understanding that Scooter forgave Gregg. It was 35 years ago and is water under the bridge. I don't know why people feel the need to rehash the past, especially when they didn't have a dog in the fight. If Gregg expounds on the subject from his perspective, it's his perspective. Let him tell his side of the story. Take it for the truth or don't. We already have the facts. The outcome won't change.

"The Road Taken"

A play on words of the poem that has the words 'The Road Not Taken'.....

I don't think Gregg has to apoligize for anything. He took a path, made many millions of folks happy; made a few sad. His father murdered when he was still a mite and an older brother taken away young. In either case he never got to say good-bye.

It is sad in a way.....we all would like to BE Gregg Allman, but none of us would want to experience the events he experienced to get where he is.....

My only brother turns 51 this year and I don't want to even think what it would be like to not have him in my life.

I totally agree. Gregg Allman made a lot of mistakes, while in the throws of severe addiction. SEVERE ADDICTION. And I'm sure that he would like to go back a re-do quite a few things...or maybe not, but its his life and his story. We're just the lucky ones who get to read it when he is done! And we all know if there are 12 people in a situation, there will be 12 different versions of the story, Gregg will tell his and I for one CANT WAIT!
No matter what he has said or done or not said or done, he's still one of the most interesting people and most brilliant songwriters and got one of the most indescribable voices God ever created.....All I can say if its half as good as one of his songs it will be a best seller!!!! get to writing Gregory....

Gregg's hurt a lot of people over the years and I'm no angel either. I know about SEVERE ADDICTION. People do or don't do things that the normal brain would tell them to.

If he is truly sober, he will address all those tough subjects and cleanse his soul. I would imagine that's part of his motivation; it couldn't just be the money for writing a book. He has enough money already.

I'm looking forward to reading about how things look to him in hindsight. It's a bitch having to look back over your life in public, I'd think. If he makes an honest assessment of who Gregg Allman really was and who he is now, it'll be a great read for us an a relief for anything that still gives him a heavy heart.

i hope Gregg, like Keef, addresses the songwriting & musical creative process of his work.

Discussion of the songs, the choice of instruments, tunings, sound, musicians, etc. would be most revealing & interesting. It was the most fascinating part of Keef's book, although i can't imagine Gregg, for all his musical brilliance can be as funny as Keef.

Frankly,i can live without the personal gossip & an over emphasis on his drug taking or his abstinence which seems to be "required"components of rock bios!

Always been more interested in hearing about the many nuances of the creative process & less interested in the personal stuff.

Gregg owes me or any reader nothing by way of explanation for his life, but he can certainly teach us a;lot by focusing on what he's done superbly in his life--making music!
