Do you think the Allmans will do anything special to commemorate this event at the Beacon shows this March? Any special merchandise or CD/DVD releases? What would you like to see? I thought the new Fillmore East t-shirt was cool. What do you think?

I believe that there was a post stating that they were planning on trying to release a cd to commemorate the 40th anniversary.

I wonder if another expanded package of AT FILLMORE EAST is needed because there already are several on the market. THE FILLMORE CONCERTS and the more recent EXPANDED DELUXE version of AT FILLMORE EAST that was released on Polygram.

That being said, I am hoping that if they have a 40th edition, and they include more performances from the March 1971 shows. The aforesaid packages only include the June 1971 version of "One Way Out" and I would like to hear a March 1971 version, even if it isn't as good as the common one.

Also the time has come to release the sets of the other support artists: Elvin Bishop and Johnny Winter. I'm not sure if those sets were recorded, but I'm sure that if they were, they might have been (almost) as good as the ABB's legendary sets. I'm surprised after all these years the sets of Elvin Bishop & Johnny Winter have been completely ignored.

there was some discussion around the time the Fillmore Concerts CD came out that the entire run would be mastered and put in a box, even the supposedly horrible night with the horns. I believe I remember Mr. West talking about receiving the reference discs and being disappointed about what was there, but I could be wrong-memory and old age, you know

If there's any video footage out there, it'd be cool to get a DVD of some of the Fillmore concerts.

I am sure they will so something to mark the 40th. I was lucky enough to be in the Beacon for the 35th anniversary for LAFE. The ABB played the whole album start to finish playing "Whipping Post" before intermission. The second half started with "Mountain Jam" and the last song before the encore was "Jessica" with Mr Chuck Level sitting in. It was truly a special night and a concert I will never forget

The 'Jam for Duane' event will have the 'Fillmore Concerts' as the theme for 2011.
Already some very special performers and guests lined up.
A great way to celebrate Duane and the greatest 'live' show ever.

Damn do I regret missing that one. I had heard the rumors; passed up a last minute ticket. Couldn't figure out why, though pushing 50 I thought I was just old. Was never as happy to wake up with 102 fever; sick you get over; old is lingering

Hope they do the same this year
