So since Jackie Greene is opening up for Warren and played a killer Midnite Rider with Phil at Red Rocks I thought I would post a link to my Jackie Greene story, photo gallery, and videos.

He did Southern Man and Cortez the Killer with Mule in Pittsburgh last week....very nice stuff. Warren said, "We're going to play a song that we first played in Pittsburgh a while back." before going inot a hot Cortez

I still think about last year's Christmas Jam where Jackie played Bob Dylan's Isis with Warren and some others. It's always been one of my favorite Dylan tunes and I was in the clouds hearing Jackie sing most of it and hearing Warren smoke on it:

Really looking forward to seeing him open for Mule next Thursday at Westbury. Had the pleasure of seeing him again at Mt. Jam. This guy just keeps growing on me.

I like him -solo- and live more than his CDs.
I'm still on the fence about his time with Phil Leash....

I'm stoked to see him tonight in Myrtle Beach! I met him at the Charlotte show....really nice guy, but very very shy and quiet. But he was kind enough to give me a setlist and grab a picture with me.

He signed a setlist for me at the first Raleigh show. Of course, the rain made it an illegible, mushy mess!

Maybe I can get a replacement tonight...

i liked Jackie when i first saw him with Phil--loved him with Mule too--too bad the music business sucks--he really is an always improving & growing artist who in the 60's or 70's would've been recognized for his value...

I saw Jackie for the first time with Phil and Friends a few years back, and loved him. Just had the pleasure of seeing him last Friday at Gathering of the Vibes and his band was fantastic. I really like his sound, it seems to change for every song he plays. Sometimes he reminds me of Marc Ford….but with his **** together. I believe he is opening for the Mule in Central Park next week too, looking forward to that. I also just picked up Til the Light Comes last night. Looking forward to giving that a listen, but for now it has taken a back seat to Mulenium!!

haven't seen him live yet, aside from videos, but from the positive reviews everyone is giving, plus i respect that Warren hand picks some seriously talented folks to play with ~ i am very much lookiing forward to seeing him perform this saturday when the Mule makes a much needed stop in buffalo!

I think it's his best work to date, especially the last half of it.

He was on fire last night in Myrtle Beach too. He's just really fun to watch in addition to listening. And the intensity with which he watches Warren from the side of the stage is amazing. Like he almost can't believe that he's been given the opportunity to watch and play with one of the greats. And I think he was actually cheering louder than anyone in the crowd during the drum solo last night. Pretty awesome.

Jackie was on in Cocoa this past Sunday. Definitely recommend seeing him anytime he comes around your area.

Did you go see him in Myrtle Beach Dan? House of Blues? We were supposed to be at our place in Garden City this week but as usual, life got in the way and we were not able to leave. We were going to try and see him too.

Jim, I thought that show we saw in C'ville w/Jackie in the lineup was one of the best PL&F shows I've seen.

I've only seen Jackie once, at Henfling's Tavern in 2003. I enjoyed his music, and had a fun time out back during the breaks, mostly chatting and burning with his bass player. He told me what a great kid Jackie is. He and his wife had recently celebrated their anniversary, and Jackie had written a song for them. I can see he is improving and growing, and I'd like to see him again soon. He and Joe Bonnamassa are two I was fortunate to see very early in their careers. I saw Joe at a Mexican restaurant in Reno in 2002, and hung out and chatted with him some as well. He had played one real obvious Dickey Betts riff during the show, and when I was talking to him, I said, "Joe, for just a minute there, I thought I was hearing me some Dickey Betts." He literally threw his head back and laughed, and said, "Just for a minute."
