I pulled my Simon and Garfunkel two show vine. I have 8 magic stamps. I was going to send to Bryan/Yardbird who didn't really want it and said he would copy the shows for his aunt. Then came TheMusicArchivist who is in the UK. Next was Freebird1975. Only one person in America signed up, and one from overseas. I figure I can just as easily give these NICE 2004 audios to people that know me. I have my buddy at the Flea market who is a music junkie. I was thinking too that my new neighbor is a former hippy. I mean he was a REAL hippy, long hair, a van, very much a child of the sixties. I might ask his wife sometime if they might like some free live music. You never know they might think my music is GROOVY.

My little brother doesn't tape live music, but I'm sure he could do
a better job of it than littleV.

Face it littleV you do a piss poor job
of taping shows.

Oh, and you want to be the KING of the vine forum, so
I hereby crown littleV KING of the Vine Forum.

I'm not desperate littleV. I have at least 45 Alison Krauss shows by which to DEVALUE your sloppy taping job by. Stay out of my FACE and I won't criticize your crummy taping jobs. Oh, and your Gregg Allman at Capitstrno has machine noise in the background. Is that show also ANOTHER "track at once" audio like your other efforts? Hmmm, tryin' to remember. But I did ENJOY the Gregg show!

Anyway, littleV, you are still my HERO, and you are the HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION of the VINE FORUM!!!

These are my AKUS shows V. I have vined about ten of these in this forum. The shows that are in BOLD were vines of mine in this forum. I reset the tape speed on the 94 and 95 shows. I added tracks on the 2004 shows which came straight from satellite radio.

"I need a clever phrase or sumptin' to post here".

How about this:

"I can dish it out, but I can't take it"

or..

"I drive a School Bus and deal with children all day, That's why I act like a child Myself"

No, peeweeV, I don't think I want to use those phrases. Maybe I should use "My little brother smokes too much pot."

Or how about

PeeWeeV hasn't learned how to make a good tape yet.

Oh, and PeeWeeV, I was WRONG, I guess that if I count your show I ONLY have 43 AKUS shows. Oh damn, I just don't have enough shows by which to evaluate your taping effort.

I grade this to be an A- to B+ audience recording. The recording is at the low end of an A in places and maybe a stronger B+ most of the time. Gregg's microphone seems turned down lower than Floyd's. Floyd's vocals are strong and robust. The musicianship makes for a compelling performance. This is a valueable 2006 GAF audio that probably will satisfy GAF fans. And for those who are not as satisfied, realize that BigV paid $55 for one ticket and who knows if he bought another ticket, plus he recorded it with equipment he had to purchase, and as he said, people/employees were everywhere, so I assume in other words this was a stealth recording. So Thanks goin' out to BigV.

Also, this recording has fade outs between the tracks. This is not a killer audio, but it is not bad either, it just is what it is. This is a respectable audio of a good show.

Well, see it's like this V, Gregg has made a RESOUNDING resurgance lately as a solo performer, while Alison Krauss seems to have gotten a little bit full of herself. I saw AKUS last year in Daytona, FL, and they SMOKED. To my dismay the show was pretty short, only about one hour and a half and it had some LONG ten minute ramble where Alison kidded the bassist Bales about being a hunter and how she went go kart riding at the beach. I think she was letting the band REST because it was a LONG wait. This show was at Bethune Cookman college, a noted black college. Alison also made fun of the decor of the auditorium. You would have had to have been there. I thought it being a black school that Alison might have wanted to watch her language since it was a no frills auditorium, but still a nice new and clean place. Anyway, I hear Alison did an album of duets with other singers and she is set to do a duet album with freaking ROBERT PLANT who can't sing at all these days. Alison LOVES old rock stars and one of her all time favorites was FOREIGNER. Anyway, I am not too wild about Alison trying to become some beauty queen, because I have seen her UP CLOSE on tv and she is hardly a babe and she wears a TON of makeup. Alison has been a blonde the last few years but in the past she was a CHUBBY gal with short to long curly BROWN hair. Look at her 1994 or 95 Best of photo.

Anyway, I was NICE V and I was the FIRST to get your Gregg Allman show and I TRIED to get people to SHARE your show. So I talked it up. It's not a BAD tape, but it's not a GREAT tape. There is machine noise in the background. I am simply saying you can also be critical of your own work and IMPROVE and LEARN as you go.

Stop harrassing me and maybe I'll remove this NOTE from my Akus show. "Taped by BigV, a noted village IDIOT from San Diego.

Oh, and the GOOD NEWS IS:

George Rue (5/5) CD / 2 A- View Olympus WS-300M Digital Voice Recorder

George Rue also TAPED this show.

Is his audio a PARTIAL?

Did he WING IT?

I have traded with George Rue who has I think 62 AKUS shows. I was looking at his shows just the other day.

Personally, I like OLDER AKUS 1991 -- 1996. I like the band better when Adam Steffy was in the band playing mandolin. This is the PRE dobro days. Jerry Douglas of course plays dobro and of course he is GREAT, but the music was simpler with Adam Steffy and Alison's voice was OUTSTANDING during this period.

Crap, I sit corrected.

I guess I had better like your version then.

I know George has some sort of standalone burner with a pitch control. He told me about this when we discussed shows with tape speed problems. He has corrected some Akus shows, I think.

Anyway, your audio is much better than NO audio, and since you almost didn't tape it at all, which is the story of many an audio, well, all that being well known to audio collectors, THANK YOU BIGV for taping San Diego AKUS show.

NOW kindly please, please, stop kicking my ass around the forum. I actually vined a couple other AKUS shows but to find them I will have to go back 25 pages into the forum. I just remember some of the shows that I liked more than others. Sometimes I vined cheapo cdr copies.
