I know it's not until Father's Day weekend, but City Stages has just released the first list of performers for this year's festival. They include: Steve Miller Band (Friday, June 15), Earth, Wind & Fire (Saturday, June 16) and Poison (for those who like hairspray and make-up with their rock and roll -Saturday, June 16), Marcia Ball and Dr. John (Friday); Bruce Cockburn and Rickie Lee Jones (Saturday). Stay tuned for more! Also just announced (but not on the City Stages site yet) RANDALL BRAMBLETT!!!

I'll keep y'all posted as more acts are announced. I'm sure that it'll be good, but nothing's ever gonna top last year's tri-fecta of Oteil, Derek and the Brothers in front of the fam-ABB-ly tree!

I have been wanting to see Steve Miller for damn near 30years he does not tour all that much and for some reason has not been to Philly for years. I hope he comes around this year. He was my first concert in 1976 Fly Like an Eagle Tour

phillybob,

How close are you to Holmdel, NJ? Seems Steve Miller Band is doing a date there on.

As a young whippersnapper who loves most anytype of music, I will have to agree. Last year was incredible. But City Stages is about exposing yourself to different types of music throughout the weekend. (TAKE SNOOP DOGG AND HANK WILLIAMS JR. ON THE SAME NIGHT FOR EXAMPLE) If you can stomach some of the antics of the crowd, I suggets seeing Poison. I saw them with Cinderella and Winger a few years back and really enjoyed the show. It was kind of like seeing today's version of Skynyrd. Purely nostalgic but fun nevertheless. Can't wait to see Steve Miller. His greatest hits was the very first CD I ever bought. GANGSTER OF LOVE BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty,

Will be keeping my eyes open on this thread. Last year's City Stages was a treat. I need to see Dr. John too

I like Earth, Wind and Fire, however I would not pull the shades on my bedroom window to see Posion if they were playing in my backyard. Better yet I would pull pull the curtain and stick the barrel of my gun out there.
