OMG! That's freakin' HILARIOUS!! But I feel his pain. When I was 2 years old, I was at our local co-op, and one of the folks there had a hand-raised deer. That b@st@rd reared up, knocked me down, and started pawing me. Very scary experience for a toddler.

Afternoon all. I stayed up late after the show-never can sleep right after a show-so I stayed in bed til 11 this am and have been going slow since-the only pleasure of my medical retirement is not having to rush most of the time because I hate rushing and feeling pressured!
First, I must say, I don't like arena shows as much as other shows-I usually can't afford or just can't get a decent ticket. Our seats sucked last night! That being said-It was a fantastic concert. I liked every tune. Eric was better than I have seen him in 15-20 years-the 'Slowhand' of old. He was gracious in giving solos to all, even Willie Weeks had a great solo during Queen of Spades. knowing Derek and he being the main reason I went, I watched and was impressed with his playing. BTW-3 very different guitar styles helped keep it from being redundant. Doyle Bramhill was good, but was maybe unnecessary except he shared some singing duties, but it was still interesting to watch his left handed playing (Rocky Mountain News review called his playing 'sometimes shrill'.) The show was moved along rapidly with little time between songs, and yet they changed styles often, ie Eric solo accoustic to all the guitars and the drummer accoustic to the rest of the band added on, and finally back to all power playing, with each segment lasting one or 2 tunes and moving seamlessly to the next style of play. I think it was a well played out stage event with great music that moved along seamlessly. A great show, period. Now, if I could just watch from a couch with a big doobie....
Now having said how wonderful it was, I have to admit to being such an ABB fan that every live show I go to is usually ABB related vs all others ie my top 10 ABB related shows vs. my top ten all others, and I would put this in my top 5 'all others', maybe top 3. There are only 2, maybe 3 counting last night, crossover live shows when I mix my lists (btw, I don't really have lists, but it makes describing my feelings easier), and they are a Page/Plant show at Red Rocks doing mainly Led Zep tunes, and the Zero/Steve Kimock show we just stumbled upon in Janurary.

Re: my attempt at defining this space. I know there are plenty of other threads that are homes to groups and a lot of us go to some other threads in addition to this one. I just tried to put my finger on the difference between this and the others. I don't think all the others can or should try to act like we do, but it is nice to be able to be open about health, wealth and happiness as we all have normal lives (whatever that is) in addition to our threads, but you can't go everywhere and unload, even if everyone needs to sometimes. Maybe some of the people who always seem unhappy or worse everyday (and you have them in everyday life also) would not be so negative if they had some more releases.
Re: communicating with our pets. My dogs are terriers and I have only had terriers for the last 20 years (many mutts before our first airedale), and boy do they try to talk and communicate! My dale will start whining at me if I start doing the 'nod' on the coach late night or after some partcularly potent Wizard's weed! He makes me go to bed! LOL.

Tyler, Don et al,
I kind of think there is probably some lethargy 'in the air' so to speak, just because of the changing seasons. Our bodies are letting down their guard from the long winter. I think we all need some sunshine and outdoor music!

Hey Jack,
I was disappointed to get a pm from Ern saying he was unable to make it.
That's a bummer. Now that's another person I have to party extra hard.
This is gonna be a long 3 days.
Hope all is well with you and all.

I posted on this thread about two weeks ago for the first time. Everybody kindly
welcomed me here and I thought I had finally found a place. You are all good people but you seem like a very tight knit group. I have been reading the posts here every day but it doesn't seem all that open to new people. At least that's how I have felt. I certainly don't think you do it deliberately. I know everybody has their own problems and you all are a very supportive group. Maybe I didn't give it a chance. Anyway that's how I feel about it. I'm not looking for sympathy or attention. I just like to be part of a group of good people. This is not intented as criticism, just some input you may be interestedin.

ruthelane Wow I totally understand how you feel and I'd say almost everyone here has experienced what you are saying . Imagine sitting around at this Hugh table and we are all trying to express something to each other, it's not that we didn't hear you sometimes it's hard to reply back to everyones comments...and for myself sometimes I read all these wonderful posts and comment in my head like yeah I know, or if someone isn't feeling great that day..I hope to myself that they have a better day... not necessarily typing in every thought I have...
But Please do not leave and you are soooooooooo welcome here... just keep saying something and you will be heard...

Let me first say that.... It was Tyler who welcomed me into this family...and helped me to feel at home ulitmately on the WHOLE site as well as Mitzi.... and from there it was as if I was at home.... no one hears me home , either unless I'm screaming... I really hate that screaming but well ya know ...sometimes it has to be done...

This is a great place and I've grown very fond of everyone.... There are a few on here that remember everyones name and what they say in multiple posts.... Me, I have a hard time remembering everyone's ( name) but I do know who they are...
lolasdeb usually sum's it up by saying * waving * to everyone luv that

So I will be looking for you ruthelane stick around

peace and luv to all
rainy

Ruthie - I'm gonna echo rainy's sentiments (is she a sweety, or what?) Stick around here and don't ever feel like you can't pipe in with whatever is on your mind...give it another try. This is the one thread I found when I first started posting (I'm relatively new to the site) that for some reason just made me feel comfortable and now they can't get rid of me LOL! And it seems to be kind of unique in a way - there are a group of people who post here almost daily, others who may come by less frequently, but it's like an old shoe or a good friend... something about stepping back in just feels right. You will discover some people in here that will touch you with their kindness, other's who will amaze you with their strength under any circumstance, the only disc jockey I know of on this site (Mr. 007 - Eric), people with families they cherish (fyi - dogs are family, too...just like ferrets), gals who like to get crazy, guys who humor us (and amuse us), and Tyler - he is just the nicest guy (now I haven't physically met him but this is the sense I get of him) and he can really crack some good ones - I know he's got me laughing more than a time or two. Stick around and let's all get to know each other better. Deb (Lola is my dog)

Don't leave us Ruthie. What rainy said. She always knows how to say things better than I can. But I totally understand where you're coming from. I like it here because we can just be ourselves, but sometimes things we say get lost. But it's like that in person too. Imagine if we were all sitting at a table together. Now that would be a blast no doubt, but it'd be hard to get in what everyone is saying. I like to think of it as a family table where there are all sorts of side conversations going on besides the main topic. You just can't get in on what everyone is saying, but you're at home...and everybody here welcomes you. Ok...there's my two pennies. Stick with us Ruthie. Now I'm just gonna go over to the fridge and get a Dr. Pepper and some Cheez Whiz. Where are the Ritz crackers??
