What a pair these two made. Too bad Gary kept leaving Thin Lizzy. Didn't like the drug scene surrounding it.

thanks for the vids. haven't seen a couple of those. gary's crossed a wide and varied musical path over the last 30+ years since his first days in lizzy. a friend of mine saw or did a gig with him (i don't remember which now) back when he was in skid row. said he was incredible back then. ____________________

After some failed experiments with Dance influences and a power trio (Scars)
and a most welcome revisiting of his hardrock years (Monsters Of Rock DVD) and
Thin Lizzy years (Live In Dublin DVD) last year Gary Moore returned to his bluesrock
repetoire. I saw him last summer as headliner on a Belgium Blues Festival and was pleased to find out that, probably due to the 2005 "Thin Lizzy" show in Dublin (to coincide with the revealing of the beautiful bronze Phil Lynott statue), he added Brian Downey to his touring band. Good to see the one and only Thin Lizzy drummer back in action.
A nice surprise was the inclusion of "Don't Believe A Word" in the setlist. At first it was played in a slow blues version but just when you expected the song to end they switched
to the up tempo hardrock version. Loved it !!! ____________________

The Boys Are Back In Town was the intro for Bob Seger at his show Monday night...it was pretty cool. |
