To likeminded fans of ABB,
My name is Mark Whisenant.  I am a 53 year old drone in corporate IT.  That's the bad news,  The good news is that I am home listening to ABB play "Stateboro Blues"  on the Boston Commons album.
I became familiar with the ABB as a kid listening to "Brothers and Sisters" on FM radio in Atlanta.  I imagine most folks heard of the Brothers that way.  They were the coolest of the hot new genre.
I attended the "Enlightened Rogues" show at the Fabulous Fox.  I must confess that what sticks with me most was ths shock of what David Allen Coe sang in the opening act.  Does anyone else recall that?
About 2 years ago, I made the pilgrimage to The Big House Museum.  That began a new journey with some likeminded friends.  Having read "Sky Dog" and "My Cross to Bear" and attending the 2013 ABB show at Chastain Park, I have found a new world of interests opening up to me.
The original band and the current band each speak to me in a powerful way.
I am now spending time listening to all the recordings of Duane I can get my hands on.   I would love to capture in words a bit of why his playing has me closing my eyes and drifting to a joyful place.  Perhaps another time.
Thanks for allowing me to join.
